You sound depressed. Sure hope your pregnancy is not getting to you. I know you have been sick for awhile. Or maybe it's in combination with your parents traveling.
There is a whole month of year left. Don't give up on the "end" of the year yet. There's a whole lot of fun stuff still to come. Love ya!
Well, let's see...I had the hospital visit last week, where my dosage of meds was increased, and that along with Kefir have been allowing me to eat a bit better, and to be sick less. I still have ups and downs, and can't miss or be late on a dose of meds, but at least I'm halfway functional.
On Saturday, we went to a friend's 4 year old birthday party at a mini-farm/mini-zoo with some sports activities. It's amazing how that kind of situation can really show you your kids. The party went from 10-5. When we got there, there was bread and butter and juice for breakfast. Then there was a bit of time just to walk around. We went in a small group, including the birthday girl, who found a kitten roaming the property. She carried it, then let Lucas carry it (he hugged it and loved it), then she took it back and carried it for the rest of the day (and wanted to take it home). Elisa walked the whole time, despite the uneven ground, and refused to hold hands, which means she has her share of falls, but wasn't at all bothered. She even tried to walk down a slope I couldn't even go down because it was too steep. They then took the kids (and adults) with monitors to see all the animals, and they loved it. Logan was a bit scared of them, and Lucas cried because he wanted to get on them. There were ponies, mini-cattle, llamas, birds of all kinds, and even a huge lizard that Lucas touched. The kids also got to learn how hydroponic lettuce is grown. Before long it was time for lunch, a meat barbecue with GREAT meat, rice, beans, and salads. At lunch time though, Elisa, usually our best eater...didn't want to eat, or play, or nurse, or do anything. She was EXHAUSTED, but didn't want to sleep either. So after I had tried everything, Renato took a break from his lunch and took a short walk with her, and got her to sleep. We put her on a couch and she didn't move for about an hour and a half. Not even a little toe. During this time, Emily went to get something from the car and managaed to lock the key in the car, but with a piece of string and about 2 minutes, my friend's Dad got it open. The most enjoyable part of the day was after lunch. They got ponies out and a horse and cart, and the kids took turns riding them. They weren't going to let Lucas, because he looks so small, but he begged and did better than anyone else, he rode the pony without help. Logan and Emily also rode it, and Elisa rode with me in the cart, but was scared of the pony.
Then came the ZIP LINE. They harnessed kids up, and sent them down it, probably 70-100 meters long, and at the highest spot about 5 meters from the ground. Emily went, and no problem. Logan got harnessed, got the helmet on, got to the top and they started to hook him up and he panicked, and came back. Lucas went up and laughed and smiled...and ended up going twice! He LOVED it, and if he could have, would have stayed all day.
After that, they taught the kids how to make homemade bread, and baked it (plus a lot more) in a stone, wood burning furnace/oven thing (open on the front). And as that was baking, and it started pouring down rain, we sang happy birthday and ate delicious strawberry filled birthday cake. Then, just before going home, we ate the bread, hot out of the oven, with homemade butter on it. It was a GREAT day. And the place we did all this can be visited by families anytime also, and isn't expensive either, so we may enjoy going back someday.
Then, on Monday night, Elisa slept ALL night, for the first time, I mean like 10 hours. But she didn't repeat that last night...oh well.
That's a long enough post for today. Hope all is well around there!
Yesterday and today have been very, very rough days for me. Not as far as hyperemesis, as on Wednesday I got IV meds and dosages of at home meds changed, but because a very good friend of mine is going through some very terrible problems, and is leaving the country tonight with her 3 kids. She most likely will not be able to return, for a number of reasons. It is an awful situation and I have been crying all morning, as I think about the goodbyes to be said this afternoon. In this, Emily is also losing a friend.
I am now down more than 30 pounds, which in other circumstances would be wonderful. I didn't make it to church again this am, I'm going tonight but it's not going to be easy at all. I wish I could fast forward through at least 20 weeks.
Other than that, things are great. Kids are healthy and active, weather's been great.
We now have an estimated due date! According to the ultrassound I am 10 weeks pregnant, the baby had a strong heartbeat (fast enough to make me think its another girl), and all is well. It was moving quite a bit, moving its arms, head, back... Its so incredible that a baby so small can do so much. And in just 2 weeks it will actually look like a miniature human baby, instead of a shrimp.
As far as my liver issues, it is NOT hepatitis, but I have some liver issues due to a combination of being sick and taking my Zofran on an empty stomach. My hyperemesis had me in the hospital a good bit of the day on Thursday when they did additional liver tests, and ultrassound on my kidneys, and gave me 2 liters in IV fluids. I also have it worked out to be able to start getting the IVs at home next week, as necessary.
I have been thinking about you. I know how hard this is for you. It's amazing what those IV fluids will do for you! I'm glad they are bringing it to you house. I'm sure that will help you out alot. Hang in there. I know you know the reward at the end is worth it. Even if it almost kills you!!!
