nicknames... 11-28-08 09:25pm EST
Jacks, Jacksie, Jacksie-Roald, Giacomo, Jacques, Jacksie-boo, Lambie, Honey, Honey-Lamb, Littles, Boonkies, Little Boonks, Jack-jack, Jack-attack, Boogies, Little Boogs, Little Man, Jack the Ripper, Little Monkey, Monkey-moo, Clingy Monkey

^^ Just wanted to capture these for posterity's sake.

I think Giacomo is my favorite, though I probably call him Lambie, Littles, and Boonkies the most. :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine made me very tired and I didn't even do that much cooking! *yawn*

ootdaI could write a post like this about our Mackenna Mae...Kenna, Sweet cheeks, Mac, Macky Mae, Baby Doll...well, you get the idea! Most of the nurses just called her Sweet Baby Mackenna Mae! She was well-known at Riley!!!
weekendsongservicedon't forget Booger-Little. he thought that was his real name for 3 months.
timstarrWe should write down our nicknames for Leila, too. I think we did once, actually.
clickwhat fun! :) I love nicknames.

nannacute! and we have a lot of those too
sharonNo "baby bunting" or is that too cliche?
madtomkiddI think Giacomo is brilliant! and i think I had the same thought Red did, too... that scares me.

degradoOh, man. It WAS fascninating. The paper itself was a little stressful and hard but I definitely learned a lot. It's amazing how much can go wrong when the slightest thing doesn't work correctly.
ruthkrumreiLove the nick names, Honey Bunny :)

a new outlook on life... 11-25-08 05:26pm EST
heather

I'm happy to be home from Lens Crafters. Jack was a good boy, but we learned that you should never make major purchases with a sleepy baby/toddler boy! :)

These have been a long time coming!

ruthkrumreiMama and Daddy both have something on their face for Jack to admire :) So glad you got the glasses. You will be amazed after a few days just how wonderful they are. (Remember that if there is anything wrong--take them to Lens Crafters. They are really good about adjusting or replacing if youare not satisfied.

travels 11-16-08 09:51pm EST
I'm really excited because, Lord willing, I'm going to be visiting two new states tomorrow! I will be able to add Connecticut and Rhode Island to my list of states I've visited. We are visiting the congregation in Providence to attend the gospel meeting they are having with Leon Mauldin for the next two nights. I'm also very excited to visit with the Tostis, and even more excited that the two little guys who were born on the same day will get to meet and spend some time playing together! Fun, fun! I'll definitely be taking pictures!

Fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ all across this nation and even the world is such a precious thing! I cherish the relationships I've cultivated over the years with dear ones far and near. What a blessing it is to be a part of God's family, making connections and seeing old friends almost everywhere you go. What a blessing that we have modern technology to keep in touch so easily when we are far apart.

This past week we got our passports for an upcoming trip to meet our brothers and sisters in Christ in Guatemala at the end of February. It's such an adventure being a preacher's wife! I, who am perfectly content to stay at home, rooted firmly where I am planted, am learning to be like Sarai, following her husband wherever God leads him. *deep breaths* I wonder if Sarai knew the language where she went? I don't know a word of Spanish! :)

spinningbeesay HI to the Martineaus for us! We'll be missing crossing paths with you by 1 week and 1 day! :(
curlieSounds like fun! Have a good time.

I joke with Ethan that I am living the led-about life, à la 1 Cor. 9:5. ;)
nycamiWe're so proud of you - home or away!
ootdaWow! You have some exciting stuff coming up in your little world!!!! I know that you will make the best of each moment, and will cherish the memories! We are blessed to have met you in Greencastle!!!
meridithWow! I didn't know that ya'll were going to Guatemala. I'm sure that will be an exciting trip and it will be neat to worship with brethren in another country.
tommyswifeWow! Safe travels. It sounds like a fun adventure!
raifhausI am thankful you are coming. There will definitely be some discomfort - but I have confidence the experience and knowing these brethren will be an awesome blessing for you. I just can't wait to share! And I love that they will know you. It is so good for them to meet North American women and sisters in Christ who aren't the stereotype they see on television. Thank you for following your husband on this crazy adventure!
raifhausAnd I'm thrilled for you to go to RI!! I still have a glimmer of hope that we might zip up there while in PA/NY. Not sure we can work it in. But would so love to.
madtomkiddI guess it depends on what tv shows they're watching. If it's "Little house on the prairie" they might get a good guess at what you're like (totally in a good way!)
mrs_rossheadI will be meeting you tomorrow at the Tosti's. I'm looking forward to it. :)
mrs_rossheadOh, I guess tonight at the meeting! haha!
laurar209Have a lovely time... in both places! So wish I could do the same trips, but in any case, I know you'll be a lovely example and great encouragement to be around. :)
sallyanneGuatemala! Wow! What an adventure!!
timstarrI can't wait to see pictures of Sean and Jack! And videos, too, if it can be managed! And it's so cool that you are going to see the Raifs in Guatemala... I had no idea.
robynbobmcool
cruisingmomAs you zip up I-95 you will be going by where Kelly lives in CT. Y'all have safe travels, tomorrow and in February...how exciting!
mr_and_mrs_berryOh Heather, the church at Providence is full of wonderful brethren! We know: her, her husband, her, her, her mother, and her and more who are not on pleo. You know his faolks live there right? And as you head up I95, if you get off exit 57 you can visit Bishops Orchards :)
marla*hug* I just learned that today is the 9-year anniversary of the bonfire...Just thinking of you. Love you, Moses!
jaydonHeather, it was so good to meet you in person. You are a lovely example of a Godly woman - my young daughter agreed - thankyou!
Your son is so precious and one happy baby, I can not wait to see pictures of he and Sean.
ktjomoodyHeather, thank you for looking up the passages on nursing in the Bible. I enjoyed reading your thoughts. I'm really thinking through a lot of parenting things right now. It's wonderful to have scripture to look at to help mold my thoughts on things. I'm not sure I'll ever have all the answers!
robynbobmI really hope it is just a hormone shift. Thanks for the info!
littlelambI love traveling around and meeting new christians- it's so wonderful to know that we are surrounded by our christian family even when we don't know it.
sarafranklinhicksThat will be really nea! Our love for Christ is a universal language, and the brothers and sisters there will be so uplifted by your journey to meet and support them. That's fantastic!
nycamiCongratulations !!!!! and by the way, I love you sooooooooo much.
robynbobmglad it was funny and not just weird, haha! :)
