Hallmark should have given me the GOLD CROWN for doing my part to keep them in business. Most of you know that I love to send cards. I think cards make people happy; I like to make people happy; I send cards. Well, even if they had given the crown to me, I would now have to give it up for failure to meet the GOLD CROWN standards - to no fault of my own....
I LOST MY ADDRESS BOOK!
I must apologize to those of you that have birthdays in November and December (I might as well include January...) I can't find my address book! I feel like someone has stolen my last $20. I NEED my address book. But somewhere in all the boxes that are piled ceiling-high in the garage lies the little address book that I so despirately want.
So, if any of you want a birthday card or Christmas card from the Diaz family (OK - just from me because we all know Frank and Hallmark mix like oil and water) you need to email me your address. I'm sure most of you have my email address. If you don't, contact Lisa.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have already had my fair share of turkey and stuffing, but I'll eat more Thursday!
Hi - I came here from Darryl S's site. He's the preacher (and friend!) at Westside where I'm a member. I feel so bad for you for losing your address book. I left mine in another city once at a Hobby Lobby. The manager was so sweet to return it to me. I hope you find your address book!
It was a blast. There were some first time carvers in the crowd. Although you couldn't tell it by the oh-so-detailed carvings. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I got re-acquainted with some long-time friends that I haven't seen in probably close to 15 years...no joke. How they ended up at my house Saturday is a story for another post since lunch ends in 6 minutes.
My aunt and her husband were able to come. I mention this, not to toot my own horn but because her husband (yes, my uncle....but that too is another story for another day....)had a stroke earlier this year and is now confined to a wheelchair - parazlyzed from the waist down. They haven't been doing anything "social" because of the time and effort it takes to get him anywhere. But they came. And I am glad for it.
It was fun, but it really made me miss all of you that have been to the parties in the past. It made me miss you terribly! So next year I have decided that each of you MUST fly to AL for Pumpkin Carvin' 2009!
I'll email the link to pics when I get them online...hopefully this weekend.
I'm glad it was a success! I had no doubts, you throw awesome parties! How fun to be re-acquainted with pals from the past. And how very special to have your aunt and uncle there too! We sure miss ya, but can't wait to see you in just a few short weeks, Lord willing!! :)
Hey, it was great talking to you! I didn't see your message on my page before I called you. Glad I caught you at the end of your lunch break. I can't wait to see you!! Frank too, if he's able! :)
I went for a nice "long" run Saturday morning. It was chilly. So chilly that my toes were numb when I got through the first 1/2 of my run. The second 1/2 wasn't so bad, but I never shed my top layer! It's been a long time since I have needed my long running pants.
Frank and I are having our Annual Pumpkin Carvin' Party. I'm so excited! I really wish all of you in WA and WI could be here with us. I'll try to get pics emailed after the party.
Hey, I'm so excited that you're considering coming out for this years ski trip. You are always welcome to stay in my dungeon when you come into town. I expect the ski trip dates to be Feb 13 - 17.
OK, Mrs. Goodetwoshoes! Here's a post since I've been quiet for so long. lol But it's gonna be quick because my lunch ends in 4 minutes!
I started working for a bank as a trainer. Yep, it's right up my alley. I love all the structure and rules of banking - now I can share that with other people that are interested. (Frank never was much for hearing about Reg CC and BSA and GLBA and ....well, you probably aren't interested either.)
AL is fine. The weather is starting to change to fall. Wow! I forgot what it's like to have a real fall. I mean, WA is always rainy and FL is always sunny. :) The dogs love the back yard and the cooler temperatures.
Frank likes teaching. He also likes the people in his dept. We hung out with a few of them last weekend. They're pretty cool for geeky chemistry folks! hahaha!
OK - 4 minutes goes fast. I love and miss you all so much!!! take care and let me know what's going on.
Yay, you're alive! Glad things are going well. Haven't a clue what you're talking about with the CC, BSA, & GLBA, but happy that you're enjoying it! :) I hear ya about Fall, it's gorgeous here too! "Hi" to Frank!
We have been busy! Yesterday, my sister and I took the girls to Fort De Soto for a couple of hours of sand, sun, water and MORE SAND! Reagan made "sand angels". Beth and I took turns playing in the water some, but the waves were really choppy for me. Rylee was a trooper. She stayed in the beach tent looking around at everything.
We towed (in hand) all the equipment back to the car...kids and all after 2 hours and came home to swim in the pool. We were all exhausted after the long day in the sun.
Today was a shopping trip to the outlets in Ellenton. That is always fun! :)
Not sure what's on tap for tomorrow, but I am sure we will have fun. I am planning to leave Saturday if the Hannah doesn't cause any trouble for us. Pray for my safe drive back to AL.
I sure will! I am so glad you had so much fun with yoursister. I am sure you are the perfect aunt. Then shopping, wow sounds like you had a long fun day! I am so happy for you. Drive home safe and plan your next visit back!
I picture you and Beth like that opening of that TV show...oh, what is the name of it...I don't think it is on TV anymore. The one where the sister is married to uptight greg and her laidback sister and cool-funny husband live with them? Such a cute image in my head of you guys trying to get all the kids and gear to the beach.
