We're having a house full of kids this year & we are so excited. Not that just having the 4 of us is bad, but more people is way more fun. Josh Phipps & some of his buddies from Western will join us. I hope I have enough food! Landon will fly in Tues. night & we are excited to get him home for a few days. We're having a Texas-style Thanksgiving with smoked turkey, BBQ sauce, beans, along with some of the more traditional items. It should be good! Have a great week filled with love, laughter, & lots of good eating!
I'm late getting this up but we are having a gospel meeting this week with Lowell Salee from Bowling Green, KY. Three wonderful, timely lessons already. The subject matter is "Challenges Facing God's People". I didn't even want him to stop preaching, I was just soaking it all in. Morning Bible study is on Daniel, a man after God's own heart, 10:00 a.m. and then every night at 7:30. You will be edified.
I definatley enjoy the apartment. Sometimes it's weird though. It is just so different from being in a dorm or living with family. I good different though, I can finally feel like I have my own space and I'm my own person not to mention I feel more like a 'wife' :) How are you? How's everyone at home doing??
It used to be, and my friends will attest to this, that I could have several garage sales per year averaging $600 per sale. I was pretty happy with that! Since our move to Kentucky four years ago, I had not had a big garage sale. My, how I have aged! I am exhausted from 2 weeks of prep work and then a two day sale which netted us $300. Not too bad but the recovery period is ongoing! What happened in those 4 years??? My friends will also be proud to know that when the sale was over, everything but one small bin went to Good Will/DAV. That is a huge step for me. I used to pack up almost the whole sale and haul it around from house to house. What a waste of energy! I'm in the clean-sweep mood. I hope the new fall season brings lots of clean-sweeping for all of you too!
we're pretty boring here in KS too, but I have been busy - I subbed 4 days this week and spent to day catching up on big time grocery shopping. then there was rachel's fall party at school to rush to and then home to get ready for her bday/slumber party tonight! whew, just thinking about 13 9 year old girls makes me wonder what I was thinking (?) Then of course there's Vickie's mom who came to visit and it is turning into a long term stay since she wound up in the hospital with a FLESH EATING BACTERIA! And my dad who keeps having to go back for procedure repeats and then Ariel had surgery today. On the good side last sat we had a baby shower and tomorrow is another one. After reading all that, I have decided maybe we aren't so boring after all. whodathunkit?
