I've been doing okay & looking forward to Olney's Fall Festival at the city park. It's not too far from my house. There will be good food & lots of good things to see. That's how I get my Christmas shopping done & other celebration gift shopping done :) I WISH I FELT BETTER TODAY AND BEFORE THE FALL FESTIVAL!!!
I hope everyone is doing safe and well. There are some people in my church that could use your prayers cuz they're going thru some health problems & deaths in families.
hey girl. We are doing well. Melissa left and went to a friends house a little further north, but was in the path of the storm too. She is doing well, so don't worry. Mom, dad, and I were plannign on riding out the storm but after I showed them some facts on how this storm was going to be similar to hurrican Caral in 1961 they decided to leave. We tried to get back into the neighborhood but a constanble stopped us. Apparently there are two power lines that are down. So they won't let us in. I have no idea if our house has damage and if so, how bad. Hope y'all are doing well. Steer clear of Ike. He's not a nice guy. Take care.
HEY Holly! Thanks for contacting me. We are well. Just some big trees came crashing down but no one was hurt. We were without power for about 20 hours but that is really good compared to many others who are still without power.
hi! I haven't been on pleo very much at all lately, so I am still trying to play catch up! I'm glad you are off Imuran while you are taking Humira. I'm sorry you haven't felt great:( How often do you go to the GI dr? Tyler is doing pretty good. I have seen him almost every weekend, so I am happy about that. The last time he had Remicade they increased the dosage some, but other than that he is feeling pretty well. Hope the Humira works better in the future and that you feel well enough to get some of that gift shopping done!
Just a short update about me. My GI doc's visit went good yesterday (Wed.) even though I was in belly pain but it finally went away today. I get to go off one of my medicines called Imuran. I'm still doing good with my Humira shots; just 1 shot every other weekend. Everything else has been pretty good. Love to all, ttyl ;)-
Here you go: I just cut up the zuchinni and squash in quarters and slice and put it in a skillet with a little olive oil. Then I start playing with spices, whatever strikes my fancy. S&P, of course, and anything else that looks good. Then I add the asparagus and saute it all together. I never let my squash and zuchinni cook up to mush - yucky! When it looks about done, I pour it into a dish and toss in some feta, then top with freshly grated parmesan. Voila, you're done!
i used black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic (real and garlic salt powder), onion salt, italian seasoning, and oregano this past time. i pretty much just play around with it.
hey sorry i have not been on here in a while. We made it through the hurricane just fine we were extremely blessed. There was no damage to the house or school. We just got power yesterday, but we dont have water or sewage. Thanks for checking on me and I hope all is well with you and your family. Love ya
belated Happy Birthday!! Hope you felt well on your special day:) My computer has been out, well actually, it was our server that was out, so I haven't been able to get on for a few days. How are you feeling? Tyler is doing ok, I think...he is still at camp and comes home on Monday next week, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again and getting my tyty hug!:)
from what I can tell you are a "crafty" person. I am not creative at all. I can't decorate, paint, write, or even make things! Pretty sad! your in my prayers, k
I've never played, but that's cool that you are learning how. The talent show was lots of fun - a few piano players, some singers, quite a few funny renditions of different songs like that freecreditreport.com commercial and "these are a few of my favorite things." Just one more day here then we all go home :( It has been such a great week!
I like your message, I try to sing when things aren't going well, then you can sing & be Happy....I miss Singing School too this year. Hope you feel better soon.
Yes, the Weejects played a few songs - very very good! All the teachers were great. Um, I'm not sure about the amount of people there. I'll have to check the paper (when I find it) and get back to you.
Yes, Holly I remember and we missed you this year. Sorry to hear of your health difficulties but I hope that they are getting you the treatments you need. I do not have information on Glenda's class but I did the recording in the sight singing class this year and I can tell you that there were a limited number of CDs made and I'm not sure if there are any left. You could contact rjstevensmusic.com and see if they have any.
The "little creek" is not so little when it is full of water. It is in a National Forest and people come from all over Texas to fish, swim and canoe in it (when it is full!)
I was just looking at your friends list to see if we knew any of the same people. I did not know that your brother went to SIUE. That is where I got my masters degree at I graduated in 2005. I believe that I also know his girlfriend! She is really sweet!
That's my birthday and I'll be 72 yrs. old. HA! actually 27 :)- Hope this year for me is better :) UPDATE: I start a new medicine called "HUMIRA" for my Crohn's Disease. I hope it works and it just got approved by my drug insurance. Alot of side effects but hope no bad ones for me will happen. I take them as shots every 2 wks. Please pray for me :) I love u all and will miss u during Singing School week. Say hi to everybody from me. later :)
UPDATE: I and my mom had a good time at a coffee shop downtown. I had a Sausilto wrap, which is lunchmeat, sliced apples, honey mustard in a wrap. My drink was an Iced coffee with flavors of coconut and french vanilla. My mom had an Iced coffee also but hers was plain (I think). She ate a Tantalizing Turkey Sandwich. It had turkey, blue cheese on sourdough bread. The bread had a swirl on it which looked like a cinnamon swirl. Ha! ha! We both had some fruit with our meal and I had a Heavenly dessert. Chocolate brownie of course with other stuff! YUM! We both enjoyed it very much! A great way to celebrate a BIRTHDAY! Love you all :)
my name is Kathi, I am 44, my son's name is Tyler. I have a daughter who is 22, married, and lives in San Antonio. I have a stepson that lives with us who is 19 and in college and his son who is 2 also lives with us. Tyler, the one with Crohn's, starts college this fall at a college about an hour away.
Tyler does not have spina bifida, just Crohn's. Tyler doesn't remember a lot about 'before' Crohn's. He used to have pain a lot when he was first diagnosed when he was younger, but the last 3-4 years he has done pretty well being on the Remicade. He does miss a lot of school, so he usually has to go to Saturday school to make up the time in order to get enough credits. He has not had to go to summer school and he just graduated a month ago! I;m so proud of him because he has had such tough time, but 99% of the time he doesn't complain and does other things to keep his mind busy.
He was drum major of his marching band this past year as senior. He is very active in theatre (he is the class clown:) and got best actor at Region for one of his plays. And he rec'd a scholarship to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas for majoring in theatre. He was never able to play sports due to osteoporosis from taking prednisone for so long so he played in band and took drama. He has just done what he could and makes the best of it.
Right now he is at Florida College camp at Camp Hensel here in Texas. He is a junior counselor for junior camp and then next week he will be a camper at senior camp. He has gone every year since he was 10 and has had to come home several times due to fever, vomiting, etc...so he doesn't do well in the heat and all the activity going on, but he is doing better but I still worry about him a lot while he's gone:(
Hey! Happy Birthday! Did you know that it's my birthday as well?! Only instead of '81, it's '89. I will truly be praying for you. I know how it is to change medicines, hope they work, and get used to the side effects. But I am so thankfully doing much better! I pray that you will too. If not soon, remember that there is always the promise of absolutely no pain in your future, Holly. I hope to talk to you soon!
Hey Holly! Happy Birthday tomorrow! I'm going to miss you and your family at singing school this year! I'll pray for you in hopes that all goes well with the Chrones. Hope you have a great birthday! Love yoU! - Kensi
Nathan, the guy Kayla is now engaged to, actually is DJ (my fiance's) best friend! They go to the same church that DJ preaches at. Kayla visited DJ's church to hear him preach b/c they're cousins. When she went to hear DJ preach, she met Nathan... they started seeing eachother and that's actually how DJ and I met. So now all four of us are engaged! Hehe!
Heyy Holly! Sorry I haven't commented you back to any of your comments! (1) I didn't make the movie...hehe... I just found it. I don't have that much time or talent ;) hehe! (2) I sew when I can, but not for money or anything...It's just a hobby. I haven't sewn in so long tho! Workin' 40 hours a week is a killer when it comes to havin' time for hobbies! I've made myself a couple of dresses for church and I'm working on a quilt from my embroideried Disney Characters...but I mainly stick to just doing my Halloween costume once a year! Haha! I'd like to sew more than I do, but there's just not enough hours in the day! Are you interested in sewing?
As many of us travel life's road with it's many twists & turns, ups & downs it gets to be harder. How do we keep a steady pace on while traveling life's road when each mountain or valley or ocean seems so steep, deep, & rugged? Well I go see the doctor (6-25-08) and I'm not looking forward to it. (Maybe) start new medicine called Remicade or Humira, I believe. I feel like one of those people who says am I really going to make it?font> On the other hand, I'm going back into my drawings, picture taking, music writing & other enjoyable crafts. I've heard from others say they like my ART WORK :) I've been trying to do things that keep me happy, busy with my hands & my mind. I & my family are not going to the Singing School this time around. My health is too bad & the others have got to work. I will miss all very much & be thinking about you dearly. Tell everyone I said, "HELLO" and that I miss them & hope to see them next time :) The doc's appt went okay. I hate riding in the car with hot weather beating at yourself. I will be starting the Humira soon (like in the next few weeks) & if it's not covered my Medicare then I'll be taking the Remicade, cuz I know that one's covered. They both cost "bunches, bunches" of money but I'm pretty sure it will get covered. More of an update later on. :)
Holly, I think you just click on the link on my page and when you get to that page you look on the left under actions and click on "apply to join" or whatever it says there.
Holly I know everyone will miss you at singing school, I'm not going this year at all either. I sure hope you will start feeling better with these new medications. You are in my prayers, say hello to your family for me.
Hi. You don't know me so I hope you don't mind me posting on your blog, but I went from Pleonast guide help to Kayla2006, saw your entry about Crohn's on her blog and then read your entry above. A n y w a y , sorry for the long explanation. My son was diagnosed with Crohns when he was 8 and began Remicade at about age 10. He is now 18 and in remission (I guess that's what they call it) He still does his treatments every 6-8 weeks and has done so for the past 8 years. He is on no other meds except this. It has been highly effective for him so we have been very blessed. Anyway, I just wanted you to know a tiny bit of our experience with Remicade. The only side effects he has is being tired, back ache, and sometimes low grade fever the first day. Hope you don't mind the intrusion on your blog...:) Kathi
the doctors thought my son had spina bifida when I was pregnant with him....had an amniocentesis and it showed he didn't. Kinda weird the similarities...How are you doing? bty, I don't know kayla2006, I just saw her question for help and had also had the same problem and I just ended up on your blog, and yes you can add me as a friend. I will do the same:)
