Here's one more for ya:
Ooops, didn't realize that was going to be so big, sorry!

Today, we rose with the birds and headed to Louisville, KY for a Wild Game Cookoff. Of course, not before enduring some of the heaviest rain possible. (Montgomery Co is still under flash flood warnings this evening)
At the cookoff we met up with some friends from TN. It was good to see them even though we didn't stick around long, the heat was getting to me and making me a bit sick. Some of you may be thinking it wasn't the heat making me sick but the exotic animals I ingested. No, no, no, no, no! The wildest I ate was wild boar, and it was delicious! Next was an elk chili that was rather spicy, the rest were deer, turkey and fish selections. My favorite was a turkey stew (should have asked for the recipe). I'll admit, there were a couple choices that when I heard what they were before trying them made me decide I didn't want to try them. One was beaver and the other was antelope. Had I not known, I probably would have tasted them. Ken was adventurous and tried them all, the boys did pretty good too, but I think the heat was getting to them, also.
There also happened to be a Mexican market right there, so I was able to get my Adobo seasoning. I just can't find it here!
I hear the rumbling of thunder getting close, so I'd better be getting off of here and preparing for the next wave of rain.

~~The last couple of days have found me prepping for the class I will begin teaching tomorrow night. I will be teaching the 1-4 or 5th graders. It's been a while since I've done this age, so I'm looking forward to it. We will be using a Use Your Bible workbook (remember those, Nancy?)as our "guide" for study, but I have extra things prepared to go along with it.
~~My dad stopped by last night on his way home from KY. He helped me figure out where the rafters are on my porch so I can hang a porch swing. I've always said that if you have a porch it needs a swing.
~~This morning while we were looking out the front windows, I spotted a baby rabbit eating some "greenery" out of my flower beds. He, I'm assuming it was male, was so cute. He then started to hope across the sidewalk and stumbled over one of the seams. He probably wasn't any bigger than the palm of my hand. I also saw a hummingbird come in seeking nourishment, so my feeder is now out awaiting her next arrival (this one was definitely female).
~~The boys are off to Lafayette for job interviews. I hope they both come home with employment under their belts.
~~Some friends from church stopped by and gave us some fresh tomatoes, new potatoes, and tender green beans. Can't wait to savor them.
Now, if I just had that swing hung to enjoy while snapping beans...

This afternoon we decided to venture down to the Metropolis shopping complex. The boys and I really like the place, but Ken not so much. He is more of a traditionalist when it comes to malls, he wants them inside. Did find some bargains at Christopher & Banks, though, so that is always a good thing. Ken also found some ties on clearance, so he was able to update his selections. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived because the Stewarts were there also (the boys knew they would be, but we didn't). When we finished with our shopping we all met up and had supper together. Ryan also joined us when he finished his tasks for the day. He and my boys are still out.
Last night, they all set off some fireworks for us. It is so nice to live in a state that has decided to legalize fireworks again. It's about time someone had the sense to tell people if you get hurt, it's your own fault! Our little show was nice, and when the guys finished one of our neighbors arrived home and had his own display, so we got to enjoy that also.
It's late now, and I'm tired, so I think I'll head up to bed.
