David arrived home on Saturday, August 16 with lots of pictures (2000!) dirty laundry and memories. He had a great trip with no incident. Thanks to all for your hospitality and prayers and love and support. He will post the rest of his photos on Photobucket. I'll post the address when he's done.
First off can I say that I am so happy to hear that David made it back safely. Teaching has been really good, other than working on lesson planning and being at the school, I really haven't been doing much else. It has sort of taken over my life. I am trying to do my duties around the house and keep it clean and cook, but there is so little free time that I try and squeeze it in where I can. Seth is trying to be understanding....he never imagined how much work this teaching this really is, and I am not even a full time teacher! That is my life right now! I hope you guys are all doing well!!! School is starting again for Ben? is he a sophomore? I miss you all and love you all so much!!!!!

I know! We couldn't believe he was going either! I don't think he could name one Elvis song, he just thought if you are seeing America, that's one of the places to see. Kevin and I have a Paul Simon cassette (remember those?!) with a song called Graceland and the kids have grown up listening to that on car trips. That might have something to do with it! The funny thing was, he really had VERY little interest in it and it was one of the most expensive places he's been! He had to pay $15 to park! We all had a great laugh about it all.
Well...I guess if you're going to see America you might as well go whole hog and do it all. This is probably a once in a lifetime experience for him so why not see everything...including "Graceland, Graceland...Memphis Tennessee".....
I wisht hat you could be here for all the festivities in a month!!!! I don't know what I am going to do without my extended Canby family there! I hate that part of it :( There will be lots and lots of pictures!!!! I am sure that mom will have millions! I miss you all so much and can't wait till the next time that I can come home to visit...except by then I will have a husband and a different last name...OH GOODNESS!! I love you guys! Hope you are all doing well.
We attend Taylors CoC in Taylors, SC. If he's going to be here THIS Wednesday we meet at 7:00. Next week we are having a gospel meeting and will meet at 7:30 that one time.
Does he need a place to stay? I can only offer a couch because my spare rooms are filled with kids, but he's welcome to sleep on the couch. Or I can ask my mom if he can stay there...they have a spare room with no one in it. I'm sure it won't be a problem. Just let me know.
We saw David tonight! He was so sweet. Calvin Allen was tickled to see him and went running (well..not quite) to get Heather and said "Look who it is!! Do you know who this is?" David stayed around and talked with us for quite a while then went home with the Allen's to spend the night. We offered our couch but the Allen's won out with the promise of a real bed! But it was SO nice to see him. Such a fine young man. Well done!! :)
Hi Vicki,Healthise I am improving. Had a bad couple of yrs though. I have to have some more surgeries. Hip revision and possibly neck again. Feeling pretty good now.
You just missed Ron and Anita coming up weekend before last. They are planning to come up shortly after the baby arrives, so that's an option. Otherwise, I have a friend in Wilsonville that will be coming up, too. She is in Canby a lot and could probably swing by and get it. Let me know what you'd prefer.
Poetry? ME ... write poetry? The truth is ... I'm sort of obsessive about it. I'm ALWAYS writing poetry or hymns. It drives her NUTS!
If you think about it, poetry is very mathematical. every line has to have exactly the right number of syllables - and every syllable must have the correct accent on it. It's a lot like doing word puzzles, but it involves creativity and imagination, too! You'll have to buy my poetry book when it gets published. I'll even autograph it for you. Oh yeah, did I mention how HUMBLE poetry makes me? :-)
Here are some random photos of David's trip. He had to mail us his flashstick since he is having a lot of trouble with his computer and his wifi. You'll be able to figure out most of them.
Not using PB but you are right- they may br too big. Is Jamie there with you now? IT sounds like it from the posts. I haven't been on for a while (obviously)
Jaime's pics of Kennedy on the farm are great! I showed them to Kevin and I said I had forgotten that Jon's dad was a farmer. He said yes. . . a hog farmer! How fun!!
This statement was made to me by an older sister who just lost her beloved husband of MANY years.
Thank you for the reminder, Wilda. You are right.
Benjamin was baptized last night after the evening assembly.
Many prayers have been answered and we are reminded of the fact that the angels in heaven are rejoicing with us--that's very good company!
Not quite yet, but the other young woman who attends at the same congregation is due May 26th! We're having a shower for her this weekend. And my own is estimated to be here in less than 13 weeks! (I saw pictures of Maya on Hannah's page. So precious!)
yeah you don't want to get me started on "Dr. Hamburger from Hungary" my least favorite teacher on the planet. Our dentist was Dr. Brush too. :) We don't have a washer/dryer yet but we hope to get one after we get to Boise.
Unfortunately I will not be coming home this summer, i have to be able to work as much as possible, and I am taking three weeks off of work for reunion and wedding, so we probably won't make it back until Christmas (hopefully!)It makes me sad to think about!
Hey! That's neat that you were born here in North Pole. My sister's husband was stationed at Eielson AFB but went to Korea for a year which is why I'm here keeping my sister company. I actually don't have a husband. :)
hi! explanation: "be money" is a quote from a movie...basically meaning to "be cool." "be the man." "have faith" is just a basic statement to have faith in things, in God, in your fellow man, in life, in yourself. hope that helps. :)
