Does anyone else like running errands? It gives me a sense of accomplishment.. especially since I've been pretty much doing nothing for the past 2 days. However, I did sew back on some buttons on my TDECU shirts to return and did my Bible lesson.
They started a college Bible class at church. I wasn't going to join, but I decided it would motivate me to study the Bible more. We are doing geography of the Bible. It's interesting since there is a lot going in the "Bible lands" right now.
Got my textbooks (all 7 of them) in the mail yesterday! They are so shiney and new.. I don't want to take off the wrappings! But I will today so I can get headstart on some assignments. Yes i know.. over achiever, but I feel like I have lots of time now. Might as well use my time wisely!
About 15 minutes ago, I found out today was the last day to pay for classes! I almost forgot.. but luckily the payment system online worked this time so I didn't have to go wait in line at the college.
Went the House of Blue in Houston last Friday and is was very awesome! Reckless Kelly put on another great show. I'm hoping Dashboard Confessional will go that venue really soon..
I got ANOTHER jury duty notice in the mail. This is the 3rd time, but I can't attend again because of being a full time student. It's probably weird, but I'd like to go one time!
DONE with finals as of yesterday! And finished clincals as of last week. I got all A's from my preceptors so I was pretty pleased and felt loved. 3 weeks of no studying.. unless I feel like an over achiever and want to get ahead (yeah right!). Tomorrow we are having our class xmas party and will listen to the sophomore's case studies.
Thursday we reveal our Secret Santas at work and have our party after the drive thru closes. Mine was a little tricky even though I know her pretty well. Her things on her 'list of likes' were difficult to find. Like cinnamon candy? And things with Eyeore (from Pooh Bear.. i didn't know people liked the depressed donkey). Oh and snowglobes.
Had another infusion today. A few weeks ago I did some bloodwork and it came back saying my liver wasn't so good, so I had to stop taking certain meds. Now everything is okay and I've been having better days even with the cold weather. Plus, sleeping with about 5 pillows has proved to be working. :)
I got my LG Shine today! I went to the AT&T kiosk in Baybrook mall and got it about $100 cheaper than at the store in town. It's a pretty sleek phone and takes really good pictures! I'll definitely be using it at the Reckless Kelly show at the House of Blues since it says 'no cameras allowed'. haha
Okay well I have to start making cookies and fruit salad for tomorrow! Have a wonderful rest of the week! :)
House of Blues is strict about their no cameras policy! They check your bag and if you have a camera they confiscate it and make you pay for them to check it in.
It snowed yesterday for a little while. We made a tiny snowman on the porch and used M&Ms for the eyes.. 2 different colored ones. He was a David Bowie snowman. :)
Just registered for Spring 2009 classes and I must stay that out of district fees are ridiculous!
In other news, I get a new phone on Saturday! The LG Shine i think. :) I'm getting it as a Christmas gift to me.. plus the battery in that itty bitty phone keeps dying too soon on me.
i love heating blankets!
okay.. definitely needing to study tonight!
Have a lovely evening/day. :)
If you didn't pay those out of district fees, you'd be paying taxes for Alvin ISD. :P Sorry, my community college brain has that on constant standby. Have you ever seen heated socks? I need some of those for around the house! haha
thanks for the well wishes but the truck is totaled but we are just waiting on the insurance to call us tomorrow but yeah so we are currently with out but it's ok
I put in my resignation letter last week. January 2nd will be my last day at TDECU.. exciting! Hard to believe it's been 2 years. Also, Reckless Kelly will be at the House of Blues that night so.. I'm thinking that will be a great day all around!
So I saw "Twilight" Friday night and it was pretty good. Not as good as the books, but are they ever? The audience was funny and very involved (lots of screaming, giggling, and shout outs). It made 70 million over the weekend, so they are bound the make "New Moon" now!
Okay well, I should probably attempt to study before Heroes tonight.
The scariest thing to a preceptor is a new nurse who never asks questions. So ask questions if you have them. But the most frustrating thing to me, as a preceptor, is the questions that get asked during the last week of our training time that I know for sure I have answered SO many times and SO many ways that I can't believe he doesn't get this already... and it's always simple stuff. Oh, goodness. I'm sure you're not like that. ;-)
Her name is "Gerri" (short for Geraldine). She's doing good so far. Her chemo stars tomorrow. And tonight she's going to Meg's to have her hair dyed a strange color, since it's all going to fall out anyway.
