Well I am really looking forward to this Thanksgiving. We are going to spend it at my Aunt Jan and Uncle Jerry's with the whole family. It will be so fun. Josh has to work again which totally bums me out, but atleast we will have half of the day together.
The kids are getting a little better but they still have horrible coughs, but those too are getting much better. So LORD willing this sickness is almost past us, it's been 10 days already!
Oh! Josh and I's business is off to a great start! Josh finished a sax the other day, and I have finished a flute, and clarinet! It's so exciting! Plus it's been giving me some "alone time" in the garage while I work my new found skill!! LOL Anyway...the LORD has truly blessed us! I hope you all have a safe and terrific holiday. GOD Bless us All!!
Our trip went so GREAT! We got lost A LOT, but it was nice even just sitting in our hotel. We went to "train" every day at 8:30 and were learning how to repair band instruments. We met some great people along the way! I cried when we left. Then Friday night as a treat to ourselves and a graduation from our basics training we went to Time Square and Madison Square Garden!
It was absolutely amazing! Crazy! But amazing. Lights, people, horn honking, billboards, taxis, EVERYWHERE! It was totally what you would expect and then some. We didn't go in to many places we just walked around for about 5 hours. We got a caricature done.
Then after our wonderful and mentally exhausting trip, filled with relaxation and constant thinking of our kiddos, we made it home safe and sound and were greeted at the airport by our babies and my mom. Best feeling in the world was them running towards me and not letting go for like 5 min.!
Then Sunday we went to my grandparents house and visited with them, and went to the Lost Maples on Monday. It was fun! Nice for a transition into getting back into the swing of things. We had a blast. Thank you to Kelley, Pam, and Dana and my Dad and Shelley for taking care of our kiddos and being so great! It made it more comforting knowing they were in great hands.
But it's great to be home. On the ground. And in traffic that is less crazy. Here are some pictures from our trip(s). GOD BLESS!
The colors up there are beautiful! Glad the trip went well and you are home safely. So neat to see the pictures of all the instruments being worked on. How fun!
Welcome home! Didn't think you could, but you make me miss NY! NY style pizza is my favorite and I miss the fall weather and colors up there. I have been to all the places you photographed in NYC.
looks like fun! yep..up north there is a dunkin donuts everywhere!! glad ya'll had a good trip. yeah, you should roast pumpkin seeds one of these days..the trick is to soak them in salt water over night..makes them not so dry when u roast them!
go with us next time!! i think tami and brian are planning to go in december! im not sure about that...but we'll see- i'll let you know the date when i know it
This trip is coming a lot faster than I was ready for! But I am ready to get it going and over with. I am really starting to worry about Luke and Emma being away from us for so long, I know they will be fine, but it's gonna be so hard for them. And me. I am gonna cry as soon as we land I bet! Saying I miss my kids! Especially when we land safely. Am I right? LOL
Anyhoo...
I hope you all enjoy your week. I will try to keep everyone updated, if we get to use my Mom's laptop. But if not...have a great time at the ladies Bible class with my Grandmother. I am sure it will be amazing, such is she!! I hate to miss that. And of course the Ladies Retreat, which I am so upset that I am going to miss. I mean the one time we are actually going somewhere!! And to the rest of you have a blessed week and please pray for our family!! Safety, patience, and that Josh and I can learn a lot and make this business happen!! So that's it from me for awhile.
Oh and for all who keep asking, we are going to New Jersey to learn the art of Band Instrument Repair. It is a 5 day, 8-5:30, hands-on training. We are planning on just going into New York after our classes! So that's it. Talk to you all soon, LORD willing. I leave you with a song:
"All my bags are packed, Im ready to go. Im standin here outside your door. I hate to wake you up to say goodbye. But the dawn is breakin its early morn the taxis waitin hes blowin his horn.
Already Im so lonesome I could die.
So kiss me and smile for me tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go. Cause Im leavin on a jet plane, dont know when Ill be back again. Oh babe, I hate to go..."
OK so I am feeling very, very anxious about this whole leaving for a week, and the fact that we have to be on a plane to get where we are going! I'm not fond of airplanes. Knowing that I have no control over anything...not that you do over anything ever...but you know what I mean. Anyhoo...
Then there is the fact that I am leaving my kiddos! For a whole week! I know they will be in great hands, but it's just that I am with them 24/7 and it's the first time leaving them ever! Well for this long...the most was one night.
Been looking at wedding dresses lately, and I am so excited. Since I'm not really getting much help from the fam I'm thinking about making a poll of all the dresses I love and asking for opinions. Sound good? It does to me.
Isn't chocolate amazing??
Anyway we leave Sunday morning...like at 7 AM so keep us in your prayers. And that I don't have a heart attack or panic attack! Love you all. GOD BLESS!! And LORD willing I will ba back Nov. 8th!! I have I mentioned that I'm nervous?
I can't stand riding on planes now that I have kids but the reality of it is "it's out of your control" (I hear this over and over while flying from Rett). You will have a great time and I'm sure the kids are in great hands.
Melissa had a friend come to this store in Katy from Louisiana to find a modest dress. It is sad that there are so few stores like that. Let us know if you decide to come! When is the wedding?
Tonight at our Ladies Bible Class, we were discussing modesty. It seems to be the topic a lot lately and much needed. But a point that was brought up, and I think is just as important as modest dress, is a modest heart. If we feel like we are dressing to impress, or we feel sexy in a way that we may need to reconsider how it makes other people look at us. When we pick out our clothes is it because we feel they are appropriate and we can lead other women/men by example or are we dressing to make someone look at us, or stand out? Do we want our children/children to be to where the same things we wear? Would we wear the same things if Jesus were standing in the room with us? Do we have a pure heart and show our true hearts in our dress? Any thoughts....love you all!!
And thank you to those at ladies Bible class tonight. I truly needed this, and I am so blessed that I have met women like you all. You have changed me in a way that I will never be able to thank you enough for. I love you all so much!
Thanks....I still have the migrain, I'm not sure how I made it home last night b/c it got really bad towards the end. It was so great to talk to you last night and please know Rett and I are going to do everything we can to help you with this. You are in our prayera and I'm so glad I'm getting to know you better. Love you!!!
yea, maybe next week we can get together! would you be available during the day, we could let the kids play and we could hang out and talk? let me know
I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet you tonight! I had to work today; I am an emergency room nurse in Taylor. I got off a bit late, so I didn't even get to services in Taylor tonight. :( I will look forward to meeting you Sunday morning. Thank you for the prayers for Eric. I appreciate it; it calms my heart to know there are others adding his name to their petitions.
It sounds like it was a great class that night. Shawn had his board meeting, so I wasn't able to go that time. But the next one is at grannimommies house, I'll be at that one for sure! She is going to teach on loving our husbands and prov. 31. I know it will be good:)
I really enjoyed the class, too. It was good just to sit and talk to you all. You hang in there! You are a sweetheart, and it's so good to be with you again.
