Holiday's 12-14-08 09:40pm EST

I am exhausted and it is Sunday, I still have the whole week to go thru, but as my daughter tells me I should not complain about the Christmas Party we have at work.

I work for a private company and still even this year they held a big party for the employees, it is on a Friday every year and we all leave at 10:30 am to go the the place where it is held. This year it was at Hard Rock Live at Universal Studios. The same room that they have concerts. They set up tables for dining and then after prizes (no I did not win anything)lunch, we then have a talent show comprised of our employees which meant they were able to perform on the stage at Hard Rock Live. I bet they thought that was awesome, and I some of them were quite excellent.

Then on Saturday, my friend Judi and I went out to a small town north of here, and had High Tea. We deceided to spend time together for our Christmas gifts instead of a physical gift, then went shopping in all the antique stores after tea. It was great and not on WW but I still did okay. Now I am all hooked on going to Tea rooms. This is the second one that I have been to.

Then Saturday night we went to my Sister in Laws house for our Christmas get together with all of my husbands family. Needless to say I am tired. It was all fun but still exhausting.

I will need to get it together at work this week, Friday is my last day and then I will be off for the week before Christmas, my daughter Shan and my son Josh will be coming home. So I need to get everything done by the time I leave on Friday, this includes a trip to Daytona Florida on Tuesday for a meeting. Can I squeeze anything else in, oh yeah a litte more shopping and cooking.

I can sleep in January. :)

I love going to tea houses. But, I don't like tea. Hmm. What's lots of fun is to have a little tea party with M. I bought all the little tea stuff... the dainty serving pieces, sugar tongs, have a little 3-tiered serving tray, etc. And we have "tea". (And I have coffee!!) It's so fun! And that sounds like an AWESOME thing to do with a friend for Christmas. What a perfect day!!

Good Morning, Sweetie - I envy your trip to the tea room. If I had the money I would certainly open a tea room. I miss the Mad HAtter in St. Marys - the tea and salads were soooooo good.

Hope you enjoy your holidays with kids - we are going to chill out this year and do just whatever we decide to do at that moment. Probably go to Dillard House up in the mountains after the big day.

To have Lunch and look around. There are quite a few VERY good restaurants there.

Happy New Year! May 2009 be terrific and that we'll get to see each other more often. XOX

A do nothing day 11-22-08 06:35pm EST

Today was a do nothing day but I really did get things accomplished. Things like a pedicure and manicure, do they count? I thought that they could look nice for Thanksgiving, I know the turkey will not care what they look like but it is relaxing anyway.

It is a treat that I did not discover until about two years ago, it is a luxury that I could not afford until the kids were grown :)

Speaking of kids this will be the first time since I was pregnant that the kids will not be home for Thanksgiving, but it is okay they will be spending time with friends and loved ones elsewhere. But they will be home for Christmas so we will have a very good time then.

I think the Friday after Thanksgiving I will go out and find a tree and spend the weekend making the house all Christmasy (if that is a word) but then it will be done so I can focus on shopping after work. I used to have all my shopping done by Nov 1st but now that the kids are older it gets done later and later.

Well that is all for now.

Great to read a new blog - it's only been three weeks since your last entry. Shame-shame! Manicures and pedicures are rewards of having an empty nest and a little extra $$$$$$$. Hope to get my decorations up in the next week or two. I didn't even put up the Fall decorations this year.

lyndie

Oooh, you're right... I did miss that one! Got it now though! Hah!

Birthday 10-30-08 07:32pm EST

As many of you know I had the big "50" birthday, funny I don't feel 50(most days) but I had a great time. At work I was honored with two fires at work at the complexes that I handle claims for, and another today. That makes five for the week. So called job security, Ha.

But I had a great time anyway, my Friend Judi had a big box of little presents that took 15 minutes to open. It was great fun, then today the box arrived from my wonderful Aunt who sent wonderful goodies that all the girls at work thought were great. I will share as this will assist me in my effort to stay on my WW program, but I will sneak a little snack here and there.

So for all of you who dread getting older somehow I have had the most fun this week, I think I enjoy getting older, somehow you start to figure out what is really important and you are able to begin to relax and let somethings go (sorry I am still weird about cleaning the house) even work is more relaxing. Every thing on the desk will still be there tomorrow and you can start the day anew.

So to all of you enjoy every Birthday and celebrate with great fun!! Thanks for all the Birthday wishes.

littlelamb

Happy Birthday! Sorry I'm a little late. :)

I'm already getting a glimpse of what you are talking about with getting older. I'm rather enjoying myself lately and so many thing are so much easier than they were when I was younger. I know I have many years left to go, but I look forward to them. :)

lyndie

Glad you had such a wonderful birthday!! And me too, I'm seeing the same... you get more mellow with age. :)

My friend Judi 10-03-08 10:25pm EST

Yesterday Judi received wonderful news. She had her surgery last Friday for Uterine cancer and the news was that the previous surgery had removed all the cancer, so no other treatment is needed at this time. She will not need radiation or Chemo.

Needless to say she is very happy and already ready to get back to work. She is not the type to sit around and rest, we are the same age and she is difficult to keep up with.

I just wanted to let you know that prayers do work!!

Well tomorrow we are just going to IKEA to do some light shopping, Ha, no such thing at IKEA.

lyndie

That IS wonderful news! I'm so happy for her, and for you as her friend!

Enjoy your shopping day! :) Wish we had an IKEA around here. I've heard good things about them, but I've never been to one.

littlelamb

Wow! That's wonderful! I'm jealous of the IKEA. :)

dinkybow

Great news about Judi! I will pass on the update to those who have been praying so hard for her. We're enjoying the visit - wish we could get another visit with you. Love Ya!

dinkybow

We would love a trip to Cedar Key, But it looks like it will be in April. I want to go to Sanibel, but John said too far, too much gas, and we only have one more week of vacation in 2008.

Glad you made it home safe and sound - We really enjoyed Shannon's visit; but she beat us three out of three in dominoes...bad girl!

lyndie

Happy, Happy Birthday!!

ashley_armand
