-Working at McDonald's, which has had several droll moments so far, such as a lady requesting a replacement for a four-day-old Big Mac sandwich(she said something looked weird about the meat and had kept it in her fridge before bringing it back), and a random guy thinking I found him attractive. I looked at him once because my co-worker was telling me how he was mean to her, so I wanted to know exactly who it was, and turned to look at him. Then, after he finished his meal, he waves to me and I ask if he needs anything and he says, "Oh no, I was just sayin' hi. I saw you lookin' at me." Uh-huh. I don't think so, mister.
-Being with my family as we purchased gas on the way home from church for $3.57 since my dad said we wounldn't find it any cheaper. However, as we were stopped at a traffic light I saw gas for $3.55 and pointed it out, and then, ten seconds later, it changed to $3.53.
-Getting my mom excited by telling her that Michael Phelps listens to Nanci Griffith(one of my mom's favorite folk singers) to help him relax before his races, and then telling her that actually he listens to hip-hop and seeing her disappointed face.
Hey! Sorry i didn't get to see you today! But i'm glad i took a nap! And sorry i didn't answer my phone but i never took it off silence after church and we were eating so i didn't check my phone till later. Well, i guess i'll see you around sometime!
HAHAHA.....this post is great. well, that was fun...actually talking! im at my grandma's for the week....but im pretty sure im mostly banned from the phone (go figure) so i can't call you...sigh.
I don't think camp can really be described accurately in a few bits of text. The spiritual atmosphere, the friends, the learning, the sports, the aigning of autograph books:), large pink ties(well, actually there was only one), and all the other things besides. The theme this year was "Strength Through Adversity", and while I don't think I have too much adversity in my life compared to most, the study was excellent. Camp is my favorite week in the summer, and I think lectures will be my favorite in the winter. Being with so many people who share your convictions and beliefs is truly a blessing. Unfortunately, I must go back into the world, but this time with a stronger resolve and better equipped to withstand the fiery darts of Satan.
I would but I leave tomorrow afternoon at 1:15. I was here less then 48 hours. :( But Momma, Geoffrey, and I get in the 13th of August. I can't wait to see you!!!
Glad you had a great time, kiddo! Somewhere in the bowels of the many boxes containing books, is your Grimm's Fairytales. Once we start unpacking them, and you pay us $100 in unmarked bills, we'll mail it too you.
For lectures? Honey, I'll be in FL all year long! In fact, I should be seeing you a week from Sunday!! :-D Unfortunately... Hannah won't be coming back. She's learning art in GA. I miss you, too!! I'm sorry I haven't kept up with you over the summer :-(
Georgia! I was just thinking about you the other day... actually kind of thinking about it, I was thinking about you today... but anyways I drove down to Fl yesterday and saw the "Georgia On My Mind" sign and thought "oh, Georgia, how I miss thee!" how are things going w/ you and your life? when does school start back again for you?
Did you really use the word 'thee' whilst thinking of me? Life is good, and this year I am taking both high school courses and dual enrollment at a local community college, and they start in about a week and a half. Then I'm going to FC in the spring semester, an idea I still find daunting. I mean, me go to college? I know it's going to happen, but it just seems like something that will always be in the future, not anything that will ever happen. What is going on in your life, and when are you going to come visit?
Thanks for the offer. As much as I would enjoy your company, I'll be home this year rather than the dorm. I think Kate is moving in on Sat. but I'm not sure.
Hey! So i was babysitting over in your neck of the woods tonight! If i had gotten of earlier i would have called but it was nine and i was hungry so i just came home. I hope you can come by tomorrow!
I got the link from Lauren, so thank you Lauren! Also, I wanted to make the title "My Family(with minor modifications)", but it wouldn't fit. So, alas, people must be left with the impression that my dad has an afro.
Well, I thought about putting Michael in, or just leaving Rosemary out since the two of them are their own family now, but then I just put Rosemary in because it would be fun to emphasize her shortness. As for my name, it comes from an amusing antecdote(alliteration!) that Michael told me about playing Xbox.
Georgia!!! Hi! How are you? I hope you're having a good summer! I miss Antioch! I actually thought that was a really good representation of your dad...but don't tell him I said that! JK.
I had my job interview yesterday for McDonald's, and it was waaaay easier than I thought it would be. The manager just asked me about the volunteering stuff I had done, and I was afraid of getting questions like "Tell me about a time you procrastinated and it turned out badly.", or "What do you know about our company?". I had looked at Wikipedia's page on McDonald's and memorized all these random facts about them in preparation, but it was all for naught. It's okay though, since I tend to enjoy random facts more than purposeful facts. Things such as the S in Harry S Truman doesn't stand for anything since his family couldn't agree to have his middle name be Solomon or some other s name. Also, I wanted to say hello to my sister and all those associated persons in Indiana right now, and that I will call you Shanna-Kaye!
You actually thought that a interview for McDonald's would be hard?!?! Try having and interview where the people are deciding whether or not they can trust you enough to take care of their children! (Not that it was ever hard for me, but the thought its self is way worse!)
Hey! So i realized that it is almost July and we still have not gotten together! We really need to nail some plans down!! How's the job going? give me a call so we can catch up!
we should be painting the living room and dining room a bright orange - y yellow later this week! After that, the flooring shall fall beneath our feet.
I'm so sorry i never called you back, by the time i got home and ate something i completly forgotton about calling you, I'm so sorry. But i will keep saturday afternoon open for whatever you want to do, (i'll have to sleep in on saturday if you want me awake!) I'll try to remember to call you if i get any down time tomorrow! Sorry! Talk to you later!
One of my friends and me are trying to go see prince caspien sometime this weekend, when i figure out when your welcomed to come with us! It depends on her work scedule and if you can make it we can do something else
Well now i'm babysitting most of saturday, and friday night, but thursday night/ friday morning-afternoon is still free, call me and let me know! And what are you doing at the library for 3 hours during the summer, i mean i love the library but 3 hours?!?!?
So, I just found out that me and mom are going shopping tomorrow for a bedspread for my room so we can finally paint it, and i don't know how long that will take, So the universe is keeping us apart, How's next weekend for you, get back to me soon before people start calling me looking for a babysitter!
So, sorry about this weekend, but i'll definatly keep a day open next weekend, if i babysit friday it will be in the morning to about 12 and i'll just not accept anymore jobs. So let me know if friday or saturday works better for you!
I'm thinking friday, since I am taking the ACT on saturday, but if I get that job at mcdonald's I might be working then. I really hope they hire me, but I'm worried since i will be gone for two weeks in july and august. and the fact that i put available from 7 to 10, when they arent even open on my application.
Georgia?? Hi, there. It's Mrs. Higdon. Are you coming to Chicagoland this summer? It was so good to see you and your family a few weeks ago. Tell your mom we're moving to Peoria.
Well, friday i'm babysitting, but she's pretty cool about me having a friend over so you could go with me if you want. saturday i'm still free if you would rather do that, give me a call sometime and we'll work it out!
I just looked back and saw that you are taking the ACT, but we could do something after that if your taking it in the morning. Give me a call and we'll sort it all out!
