I love hard work too! If people are outside working and I see it, I want to go out and join in!! I am not really terrified of bugs either. I may jump in surprise but I am normally the one to kill the bugs.
I just got a call last night and Josiah was invited into the school district we applied for. He will be starting 4K September 2nd. I was not at all expecting the call this close to the start of the school year. I actually thought he would not get in and that I would have him home another year.
It is an opportunity we can not pass up because he is guaranteed a spot in the school district till after 5th grade. I was excited at first, but now I am a little sad. It will only be for 2 1/2 hours, but I will really miss him during those 2 1/2 hours.
Aww...Hang in there. Josiah will LOVE it and once you see how much he enjoys being there it will be easier for you!
Carter did 2.5 hours last year also. The time flew when he was gone.
What district did you get him in?
Well it was a very quick trip 2 night trip (thanks to the republican national convention) so I didn't get too familiar with it but the city areas were more metropolitan than I had expected. I was working right downtown in one of the towers so had a wonderful view. I definately like the downtown area, not too big but still evidences of some culture. I went to bible study where Andy Cantrell preaches up on the NW side and hung out with them afterwards. Everyone seemed quite friendly and they talk like Canadians ;D Yes, I learned quickly they didn't appreciate hearing that. *oops All in all it was considerably favorable. I had fallen in love with Washington DC the week before so Minneapolis had a tough fight ahead of itself. I'm sure I'll be offending Wisconson folks soon enough referencing the Canadian tendencies in their dialect :P
It was when I worked at Charter Hospital in West Allis... he was the featured paid celebrity at the grand opening, and I got to chauffer him around and make sure he had everything his little heart desired. I was NOT impressed! ha!
I am here in MN this weekend. Jake is doing his pez thing. I am doing some shopping. Well, as much shpping as you can do with three kids to care for and entertain. The kids had a great time at the amusement park in the middle of the mall. It used to be Camp Snoopy, but now it has a Nickalodean (sp?) theme. We got Caleb some legos it seems to be something he really enjoys. I found a great deal on a new hand bag. I hope to get some shopping done tomorrow. I want to take the kids t Ikea. They have a 99 cent breakfast. It is great because they have a cart to push your trays which really comes in handy with the kids. I also saw a play area I think the kids will really love. After that I will see if they have anything I think I will use. I love that store.
we saw the 29" lady at the fair yesterday - we bonded for quite a while - whoah, did YOU ever miss out! But Ikea sounds fun, too. Never been there but always hear great things about it.
As promised here are a couple pictures from Caitlyn's first Birthday.
Of all my kids she loved her cake the most. She even licked her plate clean. We had a great time. A little sad to think that this is our last "First Birthday".
Josiah started playing T-Ball last week. Jake is coaching lucky us we got the Purple team after we have drilled in Josiah's head that the color purple is "girlie". He laughed when we told him what color the team was. The best part is that Jake gets to wear a nice purple shirt too. I will post some pictures of that soon.
Caleb is doing well too. I feel bad for him because Josiah is old enough for different activities and he really want to be involved too. I can see he is trying to figure out his place. I can't wait till he turns 3 and we can start him in some things.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Mine has been long and relaxing which is very unusual.
Too sweet! She's so adorable. I love that the shirts are purple. I could just see Jake's face and hear his voice the other day after a little 3 year old at work was telling me that his mommy bought him a barbie costume with sparkly wings so that he could play princess at home. Gross. Parents DO need to stop making kids even more confused than they already are in this nutty world of ours.
So cute! Trace was the only one of mine to eat his cake. Shad's last soccer season was on the purple team. But Luke didn't have to wear it too. You've got to post some pics!! ;-0
So cute! I didn't realize her b-day was so close to my brother's youngest. It's so cute to watch them eating the cake. Their oldest daughter, when she turned one, didn't want anything to do with the cake until she had mommy feed her with a spoon!! Haha
