I saw this book standing in line waiting for my latte a couple weeks ago. Its a really quick and easy read and I highly recommend it. It was very inspiring to read about how someone's life can completely change and go in the opposite direction before they even see it coming.
Oh you're absolutely right... there's many other completely worthless brands he could have just grabbed... he was thinkin! lol The part that stung about it, though, was because he was exactly right! My hair is TOTALLY fine and flyaway! =)
1. You are a freak.
2. I only own 5 pairs of shoes
3. Barry White is dead
4. I love my Starbucks card.
5. You need to juice some wheatgrass.
6. My least favorite chore is the toliet.
7. Coffee is good.

1. Sorry, I agree with Becky. ugh. Though I do understand. For years I had the hots for Steve Clark, the guitarist for Def Leppard. I was in love with him and determined to marry him. But everyone else thought him uglier than dirt. Tessa makes fun of me even today for thinking him hot.
3. No idea who Barry White is.
4. I love Starbucks too, but my weakness is the Mocha Frappacino.
5. I want to juice. I just need a juicer.
6. I detest dusting and do it only once a year,if that.
8. My first concert was Amy Grant. My first *real* concert was Whitesnake with Bad English opening. I almost died at that concert twice. First, a broken bottle whizzed by my head, and then later a fight broke out and there was no where to go, and I was almost trampled.
Yes, I know it has been a ridiculously long time since I have updated. So, since I have had an extremely productive day getting things done around my house, I figured this would be a good time to do this as well. So what have I been up to these last few months? Work, work and more work. Very exciting, right? Well, I have been extremely busy, there have been a lot of changes with the organization of the company. We got a new CEO that had all kinds of wonderful plans on making things bigger and better when actually what happened is they tried to grow too big, too fast. So we had a major down-sizing about a month or two ago. Everybody but three people lost their jobs in Ohio, and 20 more in Michigan including other designers and corporate people. They also fired people in Chicago and Tennessee. It was a very tiring and emotional few weeks, all my friends lost their jobs with no notice and I got to keep mine. I can only attribute this blessing, to God watching over me and taking care of me. So, once all of the Ohio people except for me and my supervisor were gone, guess who had to take EVERY appointment? Yep, every single appointment for the last month or two has been given to me. I am convinced that I have driven on every road in northeast Ohio. So needless to say, I have been extremely busy with work. Things are still uncertain with the Ohio branch of the company, but they are continuing to move forward and are continuing to give me appointments every day. They are still paying my gas every week, so I'm trying to lay low and not say a word!! Meanwhile, I have still been working with my own clients from my interior design business. So all of this keeps me running. I’m renewing my substitute teaching license for the fall so I will be able to do that as well.
Im starting to really get burnt out on interior design and am struggling with wanting to “shelve” it for awhile. I’ve been educated in this field and have 10 years experience so I struggle with knowing what to do. I’ve been feeling really tired of it lately and with all the ups and downs in the economy, my business seems to suffer first. Interior design is a luxury item and when in a financial crisis, I’m the first thing to get crossed off the list. Its just been very stressful, not just for me, but everyone in the field.
So in other news, I got 8 inches cut off my hair and donated it to “locks of love”. I was so excited to do that, I’ve always wanted to and finally got the chance.
I purchased a new laptop. If I had that to do over again, I wouldn’t have gotten one so big, its heavy and hard to carry around! But I really love having the mobility!
The street that I live on had a garage sale, so me and a fewothers participated in that and made some nice cash. That really helped me to clean out some much needed space in the house. This house is more than big enough for one person, but between all my stuff, and my business stuff, and my job stuff, it is full! It was nice to be able to get rid of some things and make room.
Went to Kennywood with them. Had a great time with my little nephews.
Overall its been a great summer and I cant BELIEVE its Labor Day!! Where did the time go? Looking forward to a busy fall as well, and I'll try to update more often!
I was so excited to see your name light up!! I have missed your updates! I love reading about all you're involved with. I'm especially proud that you were able to donate to locks of love. I couldn't ever be that patient to grow my hair out that long, especially since my hair is so baby fine and completely worthless. LOL
So nice to hear from you, Jen! You have definitely been busy! We have an 8" (maybe a little more) ponytail of Cadence's that we've had for a while now...wanted to donate it, but we were told LoL wouldn't use anything under 10". I guess it's just taking up space around here, so you just reminded me to go ahead and send it in! :-)
Funny that she mentioned Uppercase Living...that has been the new rage around here lately! Have you seen it?
Wow, I feel tired after reading all of that! Glad the yard sale went well. I really want to go to Kennywood again! Glad you had a fabulous time!! I am glad you were spared in the job cuts but at least you have the time to figure out what you want to do next.
How are ya, BTW? I've been thinking of you...when I asked Sara about you, she said you didn't have the ill effects this time from your accident that you had from your last. I'm glad! Did you get a new vehicle?
I'll have to try that when I have time. I saw you in Becky's video and it made me wish I could hang out with you some more. Hope you're not too overworked and if you ever need some r&r you know you've always got a place in sunny FL :)
