We had a GREAT Thanksgiving! We spent about four days and four nights at Gigi's house(My Mom). It was so much fun! Emma had sweet potatoes for the first time. I of course made her, her own. She didn't eat the kind with all the the sugar and other yummy stuff. ;) I hope everone had a great Thanksgiving too!
When I was just traveling to Odessa (5 hours tops) I froze the baby food in 1-1 1/2 cup sized tupperware bowls with lids and packed it in a small insulated lunch bag or cooler. It stayed mostly forzen, but deffinitly cold enough to be safe. When I was freezing it for home use I used Ice cube trays. They are about 1 oz each so they are easy to measure how much baby is getting :) Once the cubes were frozen I moved them to labled 1 gallon freezer bags. That way I could just take out as many cubes as I needed for one meal. When out and about the town, I would just put the frozen cubes in a bowl with lid and they thawed, but stayed cool until I was ready to feed her (provided I was not gone all day:) Hope that helps :) I had alot of fun making Alissa's food, and It made me feel like I was doing something special and good for her.
This is a good site with lots of rcipes and charts for what kind of foods to introduce at what stages. One other thing...If you are traveling, there are things you can take whole and mash with a fork when Ema is hungry, like bananas and avacados:)
Last night Daddy got to feed Emma. Too cute! She really seemed to like it more last night. I put some Apple Juice in it. ;) And I also heated it up a little bit. She also sleept a little better last night. :) YEAH!

Well, we were going to wait till she was six months. But tonight when we were eating dinner, Emma kept reaching for our food. And I just couldn't take it anymore. :) So, she got her first meal of rice cereal tonight. I am not to sure what she thought of it. At first she was trying to grab my hands and she had her mouth open. It was so cute. Then towards the end she didn't seem like she really liked it. But we did get some smiles out of her. She is such a sweetie! I just hope this will help her sleep through the night again. I have been told that it should. But I have also been told that it won't make a difference. I guess we will see. ;)
I love it when she starts talking & singing to you! When Carson first started solid foods, his fingers went in his mouth after every bite! It's like that's what helps them to keep the food in their mouth & get it down.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your place! :)
