I got moved into my new work place yesterday. Arrived about 8:30 a.m., unpacked a few boxes, took a 30 minutes coffee break with the boss, went shopping for office supplies, went home for lunch, went back to work around 1:30 p.m., left around 4:00 p.m. Not a bad start. Could prove to be a good job. Hope the pay is just as beneficial.
Interesting how one word can become so important and be associated with something particular. We heard a lot about "change" in recent months, but I'm not convinced that all "change" is for the better. I hope that events will somehow prove to the contrary...guess we'll see soon enough.
One change did come today that I'm excited about concerning my job. I submitted my resignation for high school secretary and will start working with my husband in his business. Ron has built up a fairly good base and is getting more work so I'll come in to do much needed paperwork. My only regret leaving my position is not being there for the boys. But, I know they will be o.k. Hopefully I'll have more time to get things done for them and also do a few more things around the house.
Yea! Sounds like a great change! I've been going in to Mike's office about once a week to help out with office work - as a volunteer, that is. I know you'll enjoy having more time to keep up with things at home.
hey, i'll get you a picture put up as soon as possible.... my wi-fi still works, but i just need to get my lazy self up and go find the hot spots around campus.
I'm thankful that Shelley is going to be with us for a few days. I know home would always be first choice, but I'm glad we'll have the opportunity to spend some time with her. Mike and I have really missed out on time with the 3rd generation of Matthews since we've lived so far away!
As of last Saturday we now have one free day of the week. Our marching band did not make it to the finals so now marching season is over. No more late Mondays. Yea! This means more time at home to do whatever. It's unbelievable the amount of time absorbed each week with extra-curricular activities...running the roads from point A to point B with only moments to spare. Thank goodness for call-in food; ride by and grab what you can. Nutrition not at it's finest, but oh sooooo convenient and delish. There's truly an art to drive-by eating.
To celebrate two consecutive days without staying late we ordered pizza!!!!!!!!! yummy :>)
It's so awful to be glad when your kids don't advance in whatever competition they are involved in, but I know the feeling--maybe we can stay home for more than 30 minutes at a time!
I'm glad you were able to make a quick trip to Tampa. Allison said the band did a great job. I hope I can see them perform this year. I'm so glad Allison and Rachel are overlapping a year at FC! I think this is the first time Allison has lived near a relative (besides immediate family, of course!).
Rachel and I sang this song a couple of years ago in front of the BHS student body and friends. We then dedicated it to my nephew who was in Baghdad, Iraq.
Have a wonderful time in Florida!! Do you think you and Ronnie can come to the FC lectures in February? Mike and I usually go for the weekend before and the first day or so of lectures. There's usually a musical on Saturday, and the band and chorus perform (usually on Tuesday afternoon), plus a singing on Sunday - and the lectures, of course. It would be SO much fun if y'all came, too!
