SANFORD, Fla. -- Sanford police report a plane has crashed into Lake Jesup.
Authorities say there was at least one person on board. That person was picked up by a nearby boater. A fire department spokesperson said the person may have suffered a broken ankle.
The crash happened about 9:00 Thursday morning. By 9:20, the plane was at least partially underwater.
There was no immediate word on what kind of plane went down but authorities speculate it may have been a seaplane.
