Sarah requested that I make a list of the people I've met from camp. I took liberty here, and decided (since there are so many I can't remember them all) I would just post a list of SOME of them. (Notice these are the people on my Pleo friends list.)
So here it is:
PEOPLE I MET AT CAMP (and that are on my friends list)
-Gary Head – He made me feel very welcomed at Summer Camp.
-Sarah Smetzer – It was fun to watch her be carried away on a bench.
-Shana-Kay Betts – Actually met her at a hotel before Summer Camp.
-Paul Fancher – It was fun to watch him carry Sarah away on a bench.
-Wayne Fancher – I first met him as he was trying to get the keys out of his locked car.
-Annie Gibson – I first met her while playing my guitar.
-Danielle Donovan – I first met her while washing dishes during Summer Camp
-Danny Linden – I wish I could play the piano like that…
-Carol Donovan – I met her the last day of Summer Camp. She’s awesome.
-Charlotte McCollum – She likes “Fur Elise” on the guitar.
-Joe Goforth – I enjoyed playing guitar with him.
-Reagan Rowland – First met her while setting up tables.
-Sarah McCollum – I saved her ping-pong game. Kinda.
-Mary Mobley – We’ve got a lot in common.
-Kellen Ketchersid – He’s just a fun guy to hang around.
-MK Vaughn - Met her the last day of winter camp.
-Daniel Watkins – The force is strong with this one.
-Cody Taylor – I really didn’t meet him, but he’s on my friend’s list so I didn’t leave him out.
-Amanda Kirby – She knew me before I knew her.
-Cayla McCollum – I only met her the last day of Winter Camp. Nice girl.
Mary requested that I make a list of places I like/would like to visit.
PLACES THAT I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT
-Scotland - Land of my ancestors. Perhaps I could go find the Boyd clan. If I went, I would wear a kilt... Wait... I would probably do that even if I never went.
-Africa - I've got an uncle that will be working there for a while. He tells me that the people are nicer than anyone he has ever met before. I personally am fond of the wildlife and landscape.
-Spain - My favorite language came from here. I went to Mexico, and decided I'll just stay on the boat next time. But Spain, I imagine, would be different. I also like the culture.
-Ireland - I've always wanted to find a leprechaun. Oh, and I love celtic music.
American Indian Reservation - Again, I'm fascinated by the culture. Since my great grandmother (not blood related) was full Choctaw, I imagine I would find the experience fascinating.
The Great Wall of China - My grandpa fell asleep on it. It looks awesome too.
Egyptian Pyramids - Hey, if I'm interested in civil engineering... put two and two together. (That's four by the way)
Awsome ^_^ If you do see the pyramids, I dare you to climb the Great Pyramid... It's very steep and takes forever but is well worth it and echos like crazy, we sang church songs in the buriel chamber.
Well yesterday I was finally able to go to my friend's property and shoot the guns.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was on cloud 8 1/2.
We went squirrel hunting afterwards and were quite unsuccessful. No squirells could be found.
I then went to see my counselor, and we got on deeper subjects than I have ever spoken about with anyone. Even myself.
But TODAY:
I went to my granparents' house. I Preached the lesson this evening as well. I actually filled up an entire hour this time. =D
And it has come to my attention that Annie wanted me to post a list of my least-favorite movies. Here it goes:
My LEAST favorite movies:
10.)Resident Evil 1 - If you're counting on a cheesy movie to ruin a video game, just watch this and you'll be set.
9.)Journey to the Center of the Earth (the newest one) - Again, cheesy. The only thing I really didn't like was the script.
8.)Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - It couldn't hold my attention. It just kind of dragged on and on...
7.)The Hulk (prequel to the newest one) - This just made me angry. They wouldn't like me when I'm angry...
6.)Batman and Robin - Ruin. Despair. Anguish. All in spandex.
5.)Dungeons and Dragons - I find myself regretting this on a daily basis.
4.)Dead Men Walking - The idea was "zombies in a prison". All I saw was "Prisoners have a field day with ketchup".
3.)Alice in Wonderland (Disney) - There was no plot. The biggest problem: Nobody even mentions the Jobberwocky.
2.)Son of the Mask - I blame this movie for Steve Irwin's death.
1.)Mamma Mia - Ugg. Don't even get me started...
WELL, if anyone wants another list, just leave a comment about it.
This morning I went to the local public school and gave a short little devotional before the morning prayer. Inspired by camp to spread the word, the topic was: "Reaching Out for the Unlovely". However, I couldn't stay long afterwards due to their morning bell ringing, so I had to leave immediately afterward.
Walked home in a downpour of rain. I love rain.
When I got home, I drowned myself in my studies and finally concluded a short while ago.
Looks like I still need to clean up around here...
=P
Since my counseling was cancelled yesterday, I'll have to go tonight. Maybe before that, I'll be able to go shoot the guns on my friend's property. Such a thirst to do so, yet nothing has come along to quench it.
This reminds me, my friends said the date went very well. They ate italian food and saw a movie.
This morning, sometime following the break of dawn, an impulsive inclination fell upon me. It was my aspiration that I should complete the comprehensive duties of mine regarding home, then contact a friend in an optimistic anticipation that we might accumulate the firearms we own and find a tolerable place to discharge the ammunition. However, upon using the electro-telephonic system to reach him, the only news I received was not pleasurable. He and his partner-in-romance were headed to the city of Lufkin in order to examine the wares of the stalls. And so, my hope of sharing recreational time with my good comrade was demolished.
But it was in my figurative nature to assume that another ally of mine would have similar interests. Again, I attempted to contact him via technology, but no answer reached me. In that instant, a recollection came to me. It was in my reminiscence that I found a conversation several days gone. Both of my friends had plans to have a ‘date-of-two-couples’, and I would be left at home because I have no partner with which I share chemistry, nor do I desire such an associate.
Alas, I do now begin writing not of the past occurrences of the day, but of the present actions I take. Perhaps I shall gather with my friends later this week and be jolly as we shoot paper sacks which once held corn-feed (for I have seen quite a few which harbor targets for such entertainment). But as for today, I find myself in personal abode, and lonely. Later when the sun fades in the sky, I should be returning to my counselor’s workplace and perhaps I will speak of these events. As for now, I will sigh in tranquil aura with silent thought about where I might go in the noon to fulfill my desire.
BY THE WAY:
Another thing came to my attention. I've been adding a lot of people as friends, yet they might not know much about me. Allow me to be of assistance in any attempts of gaining such knowledge:
-My name is Morgan Boyd
-I am a human. Kind of.
-I have several lists on Pleo that explain other things about me.
-I preach.
-I was raised with Christ's church, and am a member.
-I was once a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. (lol, ask if you wanna hear how.)
-My career ambitions include: Civil Engineering, Police Force
-The congregation I attend with is ultra-conservative.
-I am blessed beyond what I deserve.
-I enjoy cooking
-My ancestors tried to steal the throne of Scotland =\
-I'm in a bluegrass band, but I play many genres of music
-I enjoy speaking Spanish
-My father sees dead people (Don't worry. It's his job.)
-My mother counts money for Coca-Cola.
-I do volunteer work (generally being paid with food)
Today we went to meet with the church and continued our studies in Isaiah for our 2 morning classes. Afterwards, the sermon was about "Matt. 11:28-30". Each lesson was very interesting and thought-provoking.
Afterwards, we stayed at my granparents' house for a while and then went to Stalling's Drive in the evening. The lesson there was about Faith, and it's application.
Right after that, I decided that I would take my parents out to eat. I drove them to IHOP and we all enjoyed our meal. It was the least I could do for all of the things they've done for me. After I paid (having to take a small loan to do so, lol), we returned back home.
