Sorry to hear bout your arm. I haven't been able to be on Pleonast for a while due to traveling and training and such. Glad to hear it is doing better now and hope you make a full recovery. Too bad I'm not there, or I could actually beat you at bball for once...haha
So it's probably about time for a new post. As everyone knows I had an accident at work. I was throwing away a piece of glass in the dumpster and somehow it split, and half of it came down on my forearm, close to where your elbow bends. It was about a 4 inch gash all they way to the bone. Lot's of blood.....you know, the typical gash symptoms. I was rushed to the ER and had surgery right away. The "right away" part was awesome. I didn't even have to check in or do the usual 4 hour wait most people experience. There were even doctors in surgery with other people who stopped their surgeries to fix me up. Now thats what I call service! There were three surgeons who worked on my arm. One for the nerves, one for the artery and veins and one for muscles. The doctor thinks I won't have feeling in my middle finger again, but that I should regain use of my hand fully. I am getting back a little movement in my index finger which is exciting. The rest of my hand works fine except for it being super weak and a tad numb. I'm in a brace that has my arm locked at 75 degrees. The doctor will start straightening my arm in 2 weeks at 10 to 15 degrees a week. I'll probably be in this brace for 2 months. I am back at work working the front office for now. I am thankful it wasn't any worse. The doctors said I got lucky. What is your worst injury you've had?........this would be my worst.
You are doing so great - what a wonderful attitude your family has! My worst "injury" was running into a wall at full speed and putting my arms out to stop me and breaking my elbow. How old was I, you ask? Maybe 7 or 10? Nay, I was about 17. Praying for your full recovery! :)
Umm, no broken bones, I feel out of a tree when i was a kid and skinned my my face from chin tp nose to forehead. I now have a nice harry potter scar...
I'm glad things are looking up for you! My worst injury was being stabbed in the knuckle with a screwdriver when I was 7. I can tell the story if you want, but it's too long to type... :)
I'm really glad you're doing so well! When I was five, I fell into a crawl space opening and busted my forehead open and had to get stitches. I can remember blacking out a few times. It was an adventure!
Well, I had a C-section with Jeff...does that count for surgery at least? Regarding injuries...I tore all the cartiledge in my right knee playing frisbee at age 20. I felt it all split inside and that wasn't too pleasant. I had surgery, was in the hospital for 3 days, then had to use a wheel chair, next crutches & physical therapy. Pretty much had to learn to walk again. So glad to hear you are on the mend.
I have really had a sad story for a life. I've never broken a bone. The worst injuries are pneumonia and wisdom teeth removal. Pretty lame... haha Glad to hear you're doing better!!
Dude, glad you're OK. My cousin hit me in his backswing with a baseball bat in the forehead when I was 5. I was writing concertos and fluent in Latin before then, but now I...I...what was I saying?
Whenever there's a hurricane in the vicinity of texas, I tend to watch it real close because that's an interest of mine. Today I was watching the radar and was thinking about this huge swirling ball of chaos and how amazing it is that it forms from nothing, into this completely organized wrecking ball of a machine, and then fizzles out into nothing again. Just the tip of the iceberg of God's amazing power. Very awesome.
Well, it doesn't actually form out of nothing. It forms from a differential in air pressure caused by a temperature difference between the upper and lower atmospheres with some moisture mixed in....
I've tried counting the number of vehicles that pass me as I go to work at Hobby Airport. The first time, I quit at 300. I had the cruise control set on the speed limit all the way. Also, it's nice not to race everyone to the red light. Saves gas and brakes.
