Wednesday evening before class, Cori brought in a new Bible and set it down next to me on the pew. It was thick and nice-looking. I asked her where she got it from. She said, "Granddaddy's letting me try it out to see if I like it, but I think I want a burgundy one." (This one was black.) And then I said (half-joking), "Go tell Granddaddy that I want it." And she did! Bwahaha! And now I have a really great Nelson's NKJ Study Bible with lots of maps, word studies, and some commentary. I'll still be using my Thompson Chain-Reference Study Bible for class and worship, but I'm glad to have this really great study Bible for my own studies.
Thanksgiving was fantastic! Being home for a week was great! I'm really excited to dominate finals! Bolt was a really good movie! Christmas is coming! I'm going to get some water, so jusqu'à la fois prochaine!
It's Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Perhaps you didn't understand me the first time. It's Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
Exactly...
Their wedding is seven weeks from this Saturday. I, along with many others, am VERY excited for this day! She is very blessed with him and the converse is, of course, also true. It was really great to visit them this weekend, along with whatshername and the master photographer. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again at Thanksgiving!
These next eight days of school are going to be delightfully busy. Why delightfully, you make (justifiably so) ask? Well, on Friday I have my final biology lecture exam. On Monday, I have my last biology lab practical and on Tuesday, I have my second and final chemistry lab exam. After that, I only have one more chemistry test... and THAT'S it (until final exams)! So it's a delightful thought because the I am "seeing" the end clearer and clearer with each passing day!
That's pretty much all that's going on right now! I just thought I'd let y'all know what's been pervading my mind recently. PLEASE let me know if any of you need ANYTHING! Have a wonderful week and remember to study your Bible and pray as much as you can!
hill was my teacher too. he almost never came to class, and our TA graded everything. no tests!!! start thinking of crazy inventions, because you need a LOT of ideas! :)
Hope you are a happy Joel! Haven't gotten to chat with you in a while and hope all is goin grandly with you!! :) Sounds like it from your posties and I'm so glad! Awesome new schedule, dude!
I got to come home this weekend! In fact, I'm sitting at our (old, decrepit) computer in the study right now typing away.
This weekend has been absolutely fantastic. I have loved spending time with everyone, especially Asham, Mr. and Mrs. LaRue, Julie, Ashley A., Mom, Dad, Cori, and MAGGIE (a.k.a. schilly). It was so great to visit with everyone and to get to know the LaRues better. This was, without a doubt, the ideal weekend to visit home!
I was VERY productive this weekend. I visited former teachers, some friends, los empleados de la farmacia, helped out with the wedding shower, helped eat the food, helped divert attention away from the girls (Ashley Moore), and spend time with mom and dad. My parents are such a blessing to me. They always have such encouraging words and are wise in their advice. I am so thankful to them for ALL they do for me.
The food this weekend has been FANTASTIC! I haven't eaten this well for such an extended period since I left for C.S. I feel spoiled (again).
Everyone in Beeville is doing very well. Our Key Club did Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF tonight and they paid me a visit at the house. It was good to see some of my old acquaintances.
Ashley Allen told me about brother Jack Bruce on Saturday morning. When she told me, my heart sank. It is always a sad situation for a brother or sister in Christ to leave this earth. I only knew him for a short time, but his godliness was so evident even in that time. I am thankful for him and for his life of service to God. Please keep Judy and Cody in your prayers.
Alright, I'm going to get back to reading. I started a book last night on the history of the church and I'm REALLY enjoying it. I'll let y'all know when I finish. (It has approx. 400 pages, so it could be a while... ha!)
Thank you all for everything you do and for your example. Please let me know if any of you needs anything. I'm more than willing to help or talk or whatever. Have a good week, all!
It was great to see you...even though you were crashing the "all girl party"!!! Glad to know you appreciate your parents...they are mighty fine people.
