Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement below!
I forgot to mention the best part of all and after reading Jenni's post I realized that I should have mentioned what that best part was!
Joe, my sweet husband, upon hearing my update from the doctor, immediately offered to go on my diet with me! He is not staying completely away from all breads and dairy, but is limiting them a lot and aiming to lose weight with me :)
I nearly cried when he told me of his support while I was driving home from my appointment :)
Thanks Babe!!!!!! |

the new me :)
I just came back from the doctor. I know now what has been causing me to feel bad lately (for years probably). My silly body has a thyroid and it's just not working right. I also have lots inflammation in my body that could become dangerous for my heart (not good). (There are a few other things too, but these are the two "biggies")
So, I didn't want to go to a doctor who would just throw a pill/prescription at me and fail to beat me over the head and say, "Why do you eat that!?!", etc. So, I chose an OB/GYN who now practices both traditionally and "holistically/naturally". Well, you get what you pay for :)
I am now off of ALL wheat, dairy and eggs for one month :) I'm taking a few supplements to help bring down the inflammation and another for my thyroid. In one month or so they will check my blood again and see if the numbers are improved. I am going to do everything I can in my power to stay on this diet. So far I'm doing great (48 hours).
Now, if any of you have some hints for yummy meals with rice, veggies, meats and no dairy....
I would be greatly appreciative :)
Added benefit: the weight should be falling off during this process. Today I was 4 pounds lighter than Tuesday on the same scale at his office! Another great thing is that I can have a few dairy substitutes made from tofu. I tried the sour cream today as a topping for my vegetable soup and it wasn't bad.
Another great and wonderful thing!!!!! Ezekiel sprouted grain bread. I can have it and it's delicious. I am limiting myself to one slice a day to keep the weight falling off.
Once again... I know this is not the most exciting post but I truly thank you for listening and keeping my will power in your prayers ;)
Love you all! |

All over Tampa today there were people serving others. As I came home from a late night birth this morning I saw pickups full of furniture moving one of my sisters from one home to another. These are my brethren and I just happened to be a witness to their good deeds as I drove home.
In the afternoon we received a call (from Kristi) to come help with childcare and do some cleaning and painting at Becky Cawthon's old condo in preparation for her parents moving here on Tuesday. When I arrived with my two younger daughters (to assist with Kristy's little ones) I found a condo FULL of young married people up to their eye balls in refrigerator cleaning, handicap access updates of showers, oven cleaning, shelf lining, grout cleaning, paint prepping, carpet cleaning, toilet scrubbing, couch moving, appliance cleaning, and even filling the newly cleaned freezer with meals... and the list goes on. Becky had some college boys living there beforehand so the grime was substantial and it was a huge job. These young people are worth their weight in gold. It was a pleasure to just be with them some today and try to keep up! Thanks Stacy and Ryan, Chris and Kelly, Monica and Scot, Jenn, Abi, Kristi and all the others I didn't see from days before. God Bless you! As of tonight: Almost the entire apartment is freshly painted and ready for moving furniture in tomorrow!
Thank you Lord, for servants like these! We have a hope that will surely endure! |

I have to admit that I really don't have a lot to say tonight. I'm exhausted from a lovely homeschool co-op day. I got to see my big girl tonight :) I'm very tired.
Here's to a wonderful week in His service.
Note: Sadie is well :) |

Yay! My baby is a bit better! I really hate using antibiotics unless absolutely necessary - they were definitely necessary. She is feeling better and better this morning :)
And....I finally heard from my dear friend in Texas. She said the 4-5 towns around them (including theirs) have NO power. She has no damage to her house, but many trees down. All of them are safe. Her husband is a fire fighter so they have plenty of resources and assistance from church members too. God has been gracious and sent them all a wonderful cool front these last few days. She says it has been absolutely pleasant even without the A/C. School is out until "further notice", they are eating hot meals every day (gas stove) and are as well as can be :)
Lots of reasons to praise God today :) |
