for the weekend. i guess that means some grilling will be in order. brats last night...hamburgers tonight...life is good. Sarah actually went to TN with a group of girls from Traders Point. A family we worship with owns a large cabin around Gatlinburg and I think 20+ ladies have gone down for a long weekend of shopping and fellowship. I know it will be a relaxing weekend for both of us, but I already can't wait for her to get home! Have a great weekend, everyone!
Sounds like fun! Hope she has a good time! Can I come over for brats and hamburgers? ;) Some of my favorite summer foods! Those, along with corn-on-the-cob and watermelon! Have fun!
Hey Tim. Its been a long time. How are you?. I got married last year and moved to Las Vegas where my younger sister also lives. Now I am expecting a little boy anytime day now. What have you been up to?
well...the holidays are over. it is a time when our society encourages us to give of ourselves by volunteering, helping others, and giving to families in need. unfortunately after the first of the year we return to our "normal" way of life...focus returns to ourselves and giving of thanks is relegated to a distant Thursday in November. I would encourage all of us to continue the servant attitude of giving ourself through each day of our lives. how can we be certain we are living this each day? how do you react when someone puts you in a servant position without your input? at work? with friends? don't just be a servant when it is convenient but rather live a life of servanthood. just a recent thought i had that i hope helps you in your daily walk.
Good point. I think that if one is constantly trying to be a servant, they tend to keep a better attitude when thrown in a "servant" position by others. If one just tries to be a servant every once in a while, it tends to outrage or insult that person when thrown into the position by others.
I agree we need to do good for others. But I don't agree when Christians say that their wives need to be slaves to their husbands. That's an open invitation to abuse, laziness, etc. It bothers me when I hear that about Christian men. Yes, we need to be submissive but not SLAVES.
sounds like an interesting mix. i saw g. love in january here in st. louis. he was losing his voice, but it was still a good show. i'm going to see ben harper in Vail in 2 wks... can't wait! hope all is well w/ you
your username sparked my interest. I used to be a cabinetmaker before I began preaching about a year ago. I'm assuming you are in the business. Jesus is the greatest example of properly serving. He spent His entire life giving to and serving others. We would do well to follow His example.
I can't vote on Tuesday, but if you live in a state that is voting in the primary I encourage you to get out and show support for the candidate you are supporting by voting.
despite all of my failures she is an amazing woman who helps build me up. she helps me grow and together we are serving God to the best of our ability! I love you, Sarah!
