PROUD MOMENT 11-12-08 08:57am CST
Okay. ..may I share the "proud moment"?

Last night was the Jr.High football banquet. About 100 people were in attendance.

Awards were given out. There are 5 awards given out every year. They are MOST IMPROVED...MR. DEFENSE...MR. OFFENSE...IRON MAN...AND THE MTCS(Middle Tennesse Christian School) AWARD given by the school for only one football player.

Luke received the MTCS football award. His dad and I were so proud...and yes we had some teary eyes when the coach talks about your child as a leader...one with integrity...and character and a role model. WOW...what a moment.
joyinthejourneyLUKE ADAMS #68
kmedasmomWay to go Luke...make your future mother-in-law proud:) lol....hahahaahahah.
Remember, it speaks volumes about his parents. Thanks for your example Wilson and Julie...and Luke!!!
arsenalIn this day and time I am always glad to hear of good kids who make their parents proud.
adamandjessesdadWonderful news... what a tribute to Luke and his parents!
tommyswifeThat is wonderful! I am looking forward to those moments when I can be so proud of something my child has accomplished with God's help. Those kids really need the moments where they look at their parents and know that mom and dad think they are great.
narey_kayThat is awesome!GO LUKE! I know you guys were so proud. He is a good kid!
jenkegleyWow - that's fantastic! Give him a hug for me.
carolattheriverWhat a blessing. I am so happy for all of you!!
justgSoak it up!!! Congratulations to Luke for the living and you for the teaching.
sgarner2005GO LUKE!
britt22yay Lukie Lukie Luke!!! :-)
sheliandbrettsmomcongrats! He is a wonderful kid!
amydeeCongrats to Luke! You and Wilson are so blessed to have four wonderful kids!!! I hope & pray our children turn out just as well!
siscomomGood Job!
jenmurffha! It was absolutely beautiful!!
justgI'm sorry....we have also had a Thanksgiving that was less than traditional. Mark's mom passed away 4 days before Thanksgiving, 2 years ago. The wonderful members of GSR put together a Thanksgiving Feast for us. Thinking of you.
wardChurchisms are a whole different story. I still want to make Assembly Bingo with all of those in different squares and pass out the cards. Somehow, I expect that doing so would cause a distraction to others worshipping (especially if someone shouted 'Bingo' during the closing prayer).
kmedasmomYes we are here. We got here in September but just got the rest of our furniture 2 weeks ago. Awww beds! We didn't have ours for 2 months...arghhhh...but we've got them now and are sleepin' like babies!!
tommyswifeI am on facebook! My mom is not. She is getting better at the computer but she does not venture out of her shell too much. If you are on there, I will send you a friend request. I hope the transition for you and your parents was a smooth one. I was thinking of you this holiday! :)
littlebitCongrats to Luke! K still has her cough. I called the Dr. last night and it was our Dr. who was on call. He said to bring her in if she has any trouble breathing or sleeping. After she went down (finally) I checked her and she seemed to not have any problems breathing and slept until 7:30 this morning. She goes in on Wednesday for her check up but if it gets worse before that, then I'll take her in for sure. Thanks so much for your help!

THE NEW YEAR 11-10-08 07:55am CST
Any New Year resolutions out there??? I'm sure there are the usual...like weight...but do you have a resolution that is unusual???? (New Year's is closer than you think!!!!)
adamandjessesdadI'm not even ready to think about Christmas! How about if I resolve to get my sons married off in 2009?
jenkegleyWow - hadn't really thought about that yet. I'll get back to ya. ;) How's your mom?
jenmurffHow IS your mom? I've been meaning to call you. Resolutions...I'll have to get back to ya on that one.
sgarner2005I'm sticking with weight. But this may be the year I actually do it! :)
arsenalI don't make resolutions. Diets are always "easy" to go on when the stomach is full.
amydeeThanks Julie! We are excited!

Time to Get Involved 11-07-08 10:28pm CST
This is just my opinion....so here it goes.

The vote for Barak Obama was a vote to continue the killing of the unborn. He is an advocate for partial birth abortion. A vote for him was also a vote against the sanctity of marriage. Mr. Obama is pro gay/lesbian marriage.

So what can I do to uphold and protect God's laws? Get involved. There are organizations such as the National Right to Life Society that pose themselves throughout communities to encourage folks like you and me to speak up. As a Christian we should be doing this anyway. Same goes for opposition against homosexuality. Some have become tolerant and tend to be less vocal.

I don't know what the next four years will hold. I know that any supreme court judges appointed will be pro-choice. Makes me nauseated.

So...find your voice and get involved in your community. We are the light of the world. Let's not hide it under a bushel.
adamandjessesdadNot sure if it's true, but there's speculation that the anti-gay-marriage proposition passed in California because more African Americans got out to vote... 70% of them voted for the proposition. If Obama had not been running for President, many of those votes would never have been cast! In any case, that should give us resolve to get involved ourselves.
joyinthejourneyThat^^^^^is a better way to look at it!

Love the FALL 10-21-08 08:16am CST
Whew!!! I have been very busy with this "season of my life". Things are somewhat settled...but there are more things to deal with regarding my parents.

But...as always...my God has helped me get through this. There is always a reason for trials..and besides increasing my faith..it will allow me to be more understanding of others with similar issues. Until you've been down this road...you cannot possibly understand.

Looking forward to my granddaughters 3rd birthday party and seeing my grandson. Missed those sweeties.

HAPPY FALL!!!!!
jenkegleyHappy Fall to you, too! I'm glad things are getting somewhat settled down for y'all. Love ya!
adamandjessesdadHappy Fall! We're having 2nd-summer here (highs around 80), although it only hit 73 on Sunday, so I guess that's Autumn for us.
terryfrancisthanks...Marc had more to do with that this time. I did part of it and then left town to go to Centreville to hole a meeting where Martin and Joanie are.
terryfrancisso if it looks better than September and October, that means Marc fixed my problems! :)
sgarner2005Saturday will be fun!! The kids can take anything off your mind and bring a smile to your face! :)
