Last night was the Jr.High football banquet. About 100 people were in attendance.
Awards were given out. There are 5 awards given out every year. They are MOST IMPROVED...MR. DEFENSE...MR. OFFENSE...IRON MAN...AND THE MTCS(Middle Tennesse Christian School) AWARD given by the school for only one football player.
Luke received the MTCS football award. His dad and I were so proud...and yes we had some teary eyes when the coach talks about your child as a leader...one with integrity...and character and a role model. WOW...what a moment.
Way to go Luke...make your future mother-in-law proud:) lol....hahahaahahah.
Remember, it speaks volumes about his parents. Thanks for your example Wilson and Julie...and Luke!!!
That is wonderful! I am looking forward to those moments when I can be so proud of something my child has accomplished with God's help. Those kids really need the moments where they look at their parents and know that mom and dad think they are great.
I'm sorry....we have also had a Thanksgiving that was less than traditional. Mark's mom passed away 4 days before Thanksgiving, 2 years ago. The wonderful members of GSR put together a Thanksgiving Feast for us. Thinking of you.
Churchisms are a whole different story. I still want to make Assembly Bingo with all of those in different squares and pass out the cards. Somehow, I expect that doing so would cause a distraction to others worshipping (especially if someone shouted 'Bingo' during the closing prayer).
Yes we are here. We got here in September but just got the rest of our furniture 2 weeks ago. Awww beds! We didn't have ours for 2 months...arghhhh...but we've got them now and are sleepin' like babies!!
I am on facebook! My mom is not. She is getting better at the computer but she does not venture out of her shell too much. If you are on there, I will send you a friend request. I hope the transition for you and your parents was a smooth one. I was thinking of you this holiday! :)
Congrats to Luke! K still has her cough. I called the Dr. last night and it was our Dr. who was on call. He said to bring her in if she has any trouble breathing or sleeping. After she went down (finally) I checked her and she seemed to not have any problems breathing and slept until 7:30 this morning. She goes in on Wednesday for her check up but if it gets worse before that, then I'll take her in for sure. Thanks so much for your help!
Any New Year resolutions out there??? I'm sure there are the usual...like weight...but do you have a resolution that is unusual???? (New Year's is closer than you think!!!!)
The vote for Barak Obama was a vote to continue the killing of the unborn. He is an advocate for partial birth abortion. A vote for him was also a vote against the sanctity of marriage. Mr. Obama is pro gay/lesbian marriage.
So what can I do to uphold and protect God's laws? Get involved. There are organizations such as the National Right to Life Society that pose themselves throughout communities to encourage folks like you and me to speak up. As a Christian we should be doing this anyway. Same goes for opposition against homosexuality. Some have become tolerant and tend to be less vocal.
I don't know what the next four years will hold. I know that any supreme court judges appointed will be pro-choice. Makes me nauseated.
So...find your voice and get involved in your community. We are the light of the world. Let's not hide it under a bushel.
Not sure if it's true, but there's speculation that the anti-gay-marriage proposition passed in California because more African Americans got out to vote... 70% of them voted for the proposition. If Obama had not been running for President, many of those votes would never have been cast! In any case, that should give us resolve to get involved ourselves.
Whew!!! I have been very busy with this "season of my life". Things are somewhat settled...but there are more things to deal with regarding my parents.
But...as always...my God has helped me get through this. There is always a reason for trials..and besides increasing my faith..it will allow me to be more understanding of others with similar issues. Until you've been down this road...you cannot possibly understand.
Looking forward to my granddaughters 3rd birthday party and seeing my grandson. Missed those sweeties.
thanks...Marc had more to do with that this time. I did part of it and then left town to go to Centreville to hole a meeting where Martin and Joanie are.
HEY! I did not realize that you were back on here. GOOD. Thanks do much for the birthday call. That was VERY sweet of you to remember me. Especially with all that you have going on. I know it is rough right now. You are right...noone can relate until they have been there. I cannot wait to see you all on Saturday. Love ya!
