My parents are here for my surgery tomorrow. It was so nice to come home from work today to supper already made! My dad has to leave tomorrow afternoon but my mom will stay to take care of me. Bill was able to get the day off tomorrow. It will be his 4th day off since Hurricane Ike.
This weekend my parents, Megan, and I went to Katy, TX to go wedding dress shopping at the Silver Hanger. It's the BEST place to find a modest dress. Megan probably tried on at least 15 dresses that were modest. There were racks and racks of modest dresses. They also had bridesmaids dresses. I think we were there for 3 hours. They told us people travel far to come there (like, Mexico!) UNBELIEVABLE STORE!!!!! Here's the website... http://thesilverhanger.com/
Bill and I will be married 4 years Thursday! Happy Anniversary, Bill! I love you!
wow! I wish I had know about that place, I would have tried to go. I ended up ordering my dress from venus without trying it on first, but it turned out pretty well.
Praying for you today! I'm so glad your Mom is able to be there for you, especially since Bill is having to work so much. That is amazing about the Silver Hanger!! How fun. I'm jealous! :) Hope you're feeling better soon!!
Yes, you read that right. Here's an update of what's been going on:
It’s been crazy around here. After Megan and I evacuated with Gustav, we were talking big like we were NEVER going to evacuate… One week after we got back from Gustav, we evacuated for Ike. I know “never say never” blah blah. I did get to spend 10 days with my parents in Memphis and got to see a lot of old friends which was nice.
As far as work, I ended up working only 5 out of the possible 21 working days in September. Our building had some water damage, but I’m back working now. Poor Bill will be working A TON because the plant got hit pretty bad with the surge.
When I was in Memphis, my poor mom was sick for most of the time. My mom ended up giving it to me and the doctors called it pharyngitis. The doctors also didn’t like my tonsils and I became a show-and-tell around the office. So, I’m going to get my tonsils removed in a few weeks when my cough goes away. Yeah! My parents tried for years to get my tonsils removed but military insurance is so cheap!! So, because of Hurricane Ike, I'm finally getting my tonsils out.
I'm so sorry you've been sick, Julie! :( Hope you get to feeling better soon. And that stinks so much that Bill is having to work so much again - that has to be hard!
Good luck. I had mine out at 8, and it was terrible. i hear being an adult is even worse. Sorry, that's not very encouraging. WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN? We miss you! Come hang out with us on a Sunday night SOON!
After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.
Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.
**By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

You're welcome! Did you have a good one?? I don't know why our calls wouldn't go through to you. Just so you know, Justin and I sang "Happy Birthday" to you all the way through before we realized you couldn't hear us! :)
Hey Julie...yes I'm in Dallas this weekend. And I will be in town...I have something planned Saturday morning but if you guys need a place to stay, you're welcome to come. I have a 1 bedroom apartment so it might be a little cramped but my door is always open.
Italy looks gorgeous! I love the leaning tower picture...perfect. It's funny to be reminded of how we used to take pictures when it was just us. When you have kids, suddenly those cute shots of just the two of you disappear.

Everybody pray for good weather in Italy or at least only rain for a few minutes in each city. The weather channel said it rained in Italy the least in June. What's the deal?
I hope you have good weather for the Cinque Terre. It was the most amazing and beautiful place I've ever seen. You need to hike from Vernazza (city #2) all the way to city #5 (can't remember the name) it's truly amazing!
Rain, schmain...You'll love it anyway! Maybe it'll just be sort of misty. Have fun, take lots of pics, and bring back souveniers...just kidding. We'll miss you guys.
