forget that. the higgin family is starting a new trend this evening by throwing a front yard camp out! what fun. i'm literally ten feet away, inside their kitchen while posting this. the window is open and i can hear them all chattering away. it's pretty cool. fun times.
joe no is also here since he is working tomorrow but he's already heading to bed. oh to be young...oh wait. i'm staying up later than him!
i passed my apprentice test which is a huge relief. i needed to score at least 72/110. i scored a 103. my rank on the list is 260. i really have no idea how many apprentices get dispatched to job openings within two years, but i'm hoping it's a number that reaches me! my only other option is to ask our property manager if he knows of or can find out if Hines has any other apprentice positions open in the area, which i plan on asking tomorrow.
i'm trying to get a new vehicle right now. i suppose i could try for the motorcycle first and then save for a better running automobile, but i think it might be a bit wiser to flip that idea. i'd like to get a truck. and they aren't as expensive right now since gas costs more to fill one up than a down payment for one would be. then i figure once i get my bike, i can ride that and always have the truck for when it's a messy day or i need to haul something or who knows...maybe give someone a ride!?!
anyways...that's about it for now. as you can all see, i still haven't improved upon the overactive usage of the ellipsis and it's starting to embarrass me.
you're my favorite cousin by far. you're much more mature than tara or daniel or any of those other pea-brained cousins of yours! plus you live in my garage so that immediately makes you super awesome! your awesomeness has surpassed that of all other levels of awesomeness.
Hey!! We need to talk!! You will be so proud of me! Call me sometime or email me when you get a chance!! Hope to hear from you soon. Plus I wanna know how you've been doing. Did you get your new car/truck/bike yet? LOL
HEY!! I am alive and finally back on! I believe a HUGE CONGRATS!!!!! is in order!! :D I'm so proud of you for doing what you had to get things done and change things around! Sounds like things will only being going up for a while!! :)
I finally decided what I wanted to do with my life! I enetered into schooling online for a diploma in residential design and got a 99.something% after completing my first class. :) I'm having fun, oh and I started my cleaning business too! Been a very busy lady. ;)
It's been quite awhile since I posted. Things are still going really great right now. I love living with the Higgins. They are so down to earth and fun to be around. They are a good example on me and I just have fun. Don't think that'll ever change.
Work has been going fairly well lately too. We had a big "Assessment" in the engineering department this week. The vice-president of engineering services came out from corporate in Houston to check out our little operation. It was something we were all kinda fretting cause it was just a really big deal. It actually went great! We were called in for one on one interviews with the gentleman and I was first up. He was seriously just the nicest guy. All he wanted to do was to meet us and get to know us a little bit. He was even asking me about my music and Ultimate frisbee. Pretty sweet!
Church has been pretty cool too. Most of the folks will be heading off to camp this week which is kind of a bummer because I wanted to be a counselor, but it's okay cause I'll have vacation time this August so I'll be ready next year. Maybe it'll feel like a week off since I won't be so busy this week. That could be nice.
Got my federal rebate check in the mail. That was nice.
A few weeks ago I treated myself and got a pretty decent, yet lower end Gary Fisher mountain bike. I could have just gone for the easy and inexpensive wal-mart one, but I opted for a little nicer and got mine. It's definitely sweet. Can't wait to take it to Big Basin!
The only other two somewhat major purchases I have on my list for the near future are a Playstation 3, which I've been holding off on for the past few months, and a new guitar. I definitely want an acoustic-electric if I'm going to start playing shows, or at least one show, so I might as well get one now! Besides, the one I've picked out is only $370 and that's a great deal for the quality I'll be getting. I think the same one listed for $600 back when I first looked into it so the price drop is just icing on the cake!
That's about it for now. Just a lot of work and spending time with Christians. What more could you ask for? Besides less work of course!
Oh...and here's a fun little picture of my complete "immediate" family. Confused anyone?
I'm glad things are going well and that you are finally finding you ~groove~. There is nothing better than spending time with your christian family! We are soo glad you are in it! :)
yeah, it can get a bit nerve racking, but I've gotten used to the feeling. I just try to keep calm and not let the nervousness take over. Granted, if I mess up, I mess up. Just pretend that it was on purpose.
That's awesome! I'm so happy for you! And thanks...I decided to be daring and go for it. And our camp is this week and I too wanted to be a counselor!! I'm gonna have to wait for the kids to get a little older. Have you seen my guitar yet?? I am gonna send you a picture. I LOVE IT!!!! And I have a voice lessons cd/book kit thing lol...a lot of words to describe all that. But I'm working on it!! Now I just need a web cam...miss you...glad all is well. Talk to ya soon Lord willing....GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND!!!
i have moved in with my cousins the higgins. i was not more than 3 days away from moving in with my dad out in tracy when they asked me to live with them. see, living in tracy wouldn't be bad accept for the extra hour it would add to my commute both directions AND the fact that it's much further away from most of the members of the church and our place of worship. not to mention the fact that gas now costs as much as ice-cream!
josh actually built me my own room out in his garage. he was so into the idea of it too, it was awesome. not only did they sacrifice their indoor parking, but he build me the coolest room in only 3 days. it's like a dorm room...nicer than the ones at fc though!
so i'm loving it here. we'll see where it goes. i love being around the family and the kids i just can't get enough of.
i don't believe there is anything i enjoy more right now than hanging out at the higgins' house. NON of my time there feels wasted...even if we spend it playing video games or watching movies the whole time!
i always laugh until i'm about to cry and just know i'm with people i love and feel the same about me.
i relate to josh and katie so much. they are becoming my best friends. and i LOVE the kids. ava just gets sweeter and sweeter every day. seeing her laugh and smile is one of the best feelings i can think of.
the boys are just awesome too. and it makes me want to cry whenever they thank God for letting 'Cousin Joey' come over and spend time with them. (the numerous praying is another great benefit)
thank God for spiritual and ACTUAL family like them!
well at the concert on friday it was a christian band calle live fish and on saturday it was the lonely hearts, and eric wilson and the empty hearts it was their cd release party so they were all bands taht are not well known , which of course as you know are often the best
My dad and I went to check out some bikes last Saturday. We've both been trying to talk each other into getting them for the last couple years and I think we've found the ones we want and agreed to get them by next summer. Here are the two I've narrowed it down to.
The Triumph Bonneville T100 - You may recognize this as being quite similar, minus the color and a few specs, to the motorcycle ridden by Matthew McConaughey in the movie 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'.
or the Triumph Speed Triple - Which is just a new version of the motorcycle that Tom Cruise rides at the end of Mission Impossible 2.
Feel free to give me your opinions of the two...unless of course it's just about how dangerous motorcycles are. I've heard it more than you know and you're not going to sway me so just bite your tongue unless it's a specific opinion as to which bike you like more. Thank you!
Right now I'm leaning towards the Bonneville because my dad is basically getting the exact same bike, minus the color and some minor cosmetics. I think it'd be cool to ride the same bike for the most part, work on them together and what not. Then after a couple years, perhaps trade it in and try out the Speed Triple. Just to get an idea, ya know?
Well I'm pretty excited. My credit should be good enough for me to qualify by the time I'm ready to buy one, and if not, then I should have saved enough money for a decent down payment anyways, so I'm really looking forward to next summer! Hopefully then I'll have a garage to store it in as well!
Bonneville. Definitely Bonneville. Way cuter. :-) I keep telling Zac he needs to get a motorcycle since gas is so ridiculously high!! But if he gets one to save on gas, maybe I need one too...
I agree the Bonneville!! It's more you...the other one is really nice though. But where would you put your girl?? Gotta think ahead. Plus maybe you wouldn't get as crazy on it as you would the other one. But I LOVE it. How are you by the way?
It really has! I tried calling you the other day..but my phone cut out right after it started ringing....then something happened with the kids so I got distracted as usual. LOL I am doing good...started back to school at home and just been working for my Dad...getting ready to start paying off a guitar!! I am excited!! Not my first pick but definitely more affordable. Hope you are doin ok and feeling much better...talk to you soon Lord willing!
No, they are doing them in the right order. There are two correct orders: by publication and chronological. They are doing publication--which is obviously the order CS Lewis wrote them. It goes: Lion/Witch/Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the Silver Chair, Horse and His Boy, Magician's Nephew, The Last Battle.
Thank you! Muy mucho! So come to find out a box that I thought had just things from high school and stuff...had all my pictures from fc and some of my other things that I kept for memories. LIke the movie ticket stubs from when y'all took me to the movies for my birthday and all that!! Yeah....ALL MY PICTURES FROM FC ARE GONE!
You and Me both! Now Luke is getting it in his right eye it seems!! Ughh this stuff is nasty...and it really stinks b/c I have to put an ointment 3 x's a day for 7 days!! She hates it but I thinik she is finally getting used to it! How are you?
