Second day...another story. No tears but she did ask some questions about the amount of time she has to be there. Chris was with me, again and I am so glad. This is all very hard for me. I am having to focus on getting everything ready and keeping myself composed...I am tired!
Well, for all of those who didn't think I would be able to do this without crying....IN YOUR FACE! I did just fine thank you very much! Chris has been setting my mind straight for a few weeks now and it worked! He is so evil. He knows just what to say to make a person forget about about being emotional. If he only tried crying every-once-in-a-while. It is good for the soul. He has no idea what he is missing out on.
I made him get Evan ready last night with her backpack and clothes because he knows how to say things so that she won't get anxious. And....it worked. She didn't cry at all. She was so excited and it made me feel better that she didn't cry. So, we got her there and then we left. Actually there wasn't any crying from any of the kids in her class. That helped too. I made it out of the school too without crying...well, okay one or two tears. So now we are at home and we have the 2 boys. Today is Ty's birthday so we are going to get his soccer shoes for his first practice today. He is getting big too. His first soccer game is Saturday. He is so excited. Well, keep Evan in your prayers today. She will have a lot to talk about at 2:45, I hope!
I made it to the last picture before I started crying. Goodness ... the play-by-play on the photos is what makes it more emotional! I needed the fast-forward version.
The best is Ty and Brooks by the door ... couldn't care less.
Man, I am bad at posting. I read everyone else's stuff but I forget to post my owns stuff. We just got back from a week of vacation with the whole family...meaning me, Chris, and the kids. We had a blast. It wasn't anything big but the best part was having everyone together. I added a slide show in with this entry so i hope it works. I am still not good at figuring these things out. Not much has changed around here. Chris has one year left of residency and we are so excited! Ty is getting old enough to want to do boy stuff now so daddy is having a blast fishing, wrestling, golfing, playing ball and all kinds of things. I am not very athletic...shocking, I know, but I try. Evan does not understand why he doesn't want to play princess. She gets very upset when "all they do is wrestle", in her own words. So momma gets girly with her and thanks to the "heart of a Grandfather"...grandad does too. We just registered her for Kindergarten so we will see how it all goes. I went ahead and signed myself up for the psych ward as well. I am very weary of all of this so we will see what comes of it. She is excited....so she thinks. Brooks is coming into his personality too. He gets right in there with the boys and has a good time. The sand box is his favorite thing right now. I am hanging on to the baby stage as long as I can. I can't believe he is 18 months old. Daddy gives them till they are 2 with the pacifier, otherwise known as "bop" in our house. He LOVES his bop. Well, that is all for now, nothing new really.
it's really too bad that we didn't know ahead of time! we did go to my parent's beach house, though and we were gone for a week. we got back at 12:00am on wed night, so not sure if we coulda made it! ;/ we love to come up there so i am sad about that. maybe we'll come visit sometime anyway!
Hi Kam! Ginger told me to come here! What wonderful pictures! It was good to see your dad in his natural habitat. Probably good that he romoves the bows for preaching!
great to hear from ya! Don't worry about taking so long to respond...I know how it is...I've been extremely busy too!...glad that things are going well for ya'll and that you're not too far away from "home."
Hi, Kam! This is Julie VanHoose, I think we went to FC together. I saw your name on his friends list. Could you tell Chris that I said hello (I'm not sure if he'll remember me, but I considered him a friend)? Your kids are adorable!
nope. I've heard that smaller planes are worse. The bigger the plane the less you can feel turbulance and stuff. I was WAY too excited to be sick anyway. ;)
We will be there on the 6th. Sorry we'll miss you. I'm guessing you're right about the war reenactment. You could be a war nurse or a fretting wife waiting on the sidelines.
So yesterday was "Wadies Class" better known as "Ladies Class". Ty has learned so much by going to ladies class with me. He LOVES to hold the door open for the ladies as they walk in and as they exit. Daddy has been teaching him very well. Yesterday my pride came to a screeching halt as we were driving to our lunch date with the "wadies". Fudruckers was the choice for lunch that day, thanks to Sandy gentry. Nothing wrong with Fudruckers, I LOVE IT. Fudruckers was one of mom's favorite hamburger places when we lived in Conroe. This is where the Fudruckers choice gets a little hairy...As we were driving to the restaurant I was making every moment with my boys count (sissy was at preschool) by using "teachable moments" to learn life lessons and Bible lessons. I can tell Ty really is not into the lessons for the day because he all the sudden stops me, cuts em off is more like it. "Mommy, where are we going to eat with the wadies?" My response, "we are going to Fudruckers, they have hamburgers, chicken, grilled cheese sandwiches...etc". Here is where life went terribly wrong. My reasons for sharing are strictly for those of us that do not have enough sense to not do what you are about to read. So of course, the next words out of my mouth are the following..."Can you say Fudruckers, Ty?" Note to self and all who are reading these words...NEVER ask a 3 year old to say the word, Fudruckers. It isn't pretty! Of course I gave Sandy an earful when we arrived at....well, you know the name of it!
Hi Kam! I'm living in Austin and doing research here during the weeks through an A&M prof, and a student at Texas A&M on Mondays. Kind of a weird arrangement, but it's temporary. How's everything with y'all?
I love Fuddruckers. When I was in about 6th grade I wore a Fuddruckers shirt to school. I guess the faculty never heard of it and though it was something provocative, so they made me turn the shirt inside out.
we are trying to make this Silas's first word, so thanks for the discouragement!
Seriously though, I would love to meet your little kiddies, they sound so sweet and fun! I know you are a great mom!!
similar words have creeped accidentally out of my kids mouths and you don't really know what to do! it feels so weird! they just don't even know AT ALL what they are saying. it's sweet and weird at the same time. it's like when i am schooling the kids and they do rhyme time and i try my hardest to avoid certain endings such as well there are a couple choice ones i will not even write, but it is innevitable with that! you are such a good mommy! wish to see you soon! COURSE you will be my 'friend' silly! ;) i had to delete someone to add you! don't tell! ;)
Hey Kam, I don't know if you remember me or not. I used to visit a lot at College Park/Campbell Rd. Bob & Beth Tabor are my aunt & uncle, Jill (Wauson) is my sister. I was just looking @ Rachel & Nathan's blog and I saw the link to your site. Well, I thought it was you, b/c I don't know anyone else named Kam. Anyway, you may not remember me. I have a few pics of me and my husband on my site, and I have 2 pics of Jill posted--she's very pregnant. :-)
Haha...well, I thought you would, but its been such a long time. I saw the pic with you and your kids, very cute. Is your husband finished with school? Glad to see that things are going well.
LOL...sorry about that mishap. :-) Hey, I just found out from Ginger that you moved closer to Central Texas (where I'm at...well I'm in south central Texas). For some reason, I thought you were still out west. Hope you're doing well -Angela
Well, now that the whole family is well again, I will give a few of my "downtime minutes" to pleonast! The kids get sick so often around our house and Chris always seems to catch what they have. Growing up when my brother and I were sick my dad ALWAYS got it too. Mom would always dodge the bullet. Well, I think I know why now! How else is the house suppose to function while everyone is throwing up and pooping? Someone has to be well in the house to clean it all up. I am following in mom's footsteps...yet again. I have managed to keep clear of the illnesses that have been festering in our home. It feels like we live in this cesspool of germs. I am very particular about the cleanliness of my home but I cannot figure out why the kids keep getting every "bug" that comes into town. I am sure that having a husband that comes home with germ infested scrubs and then sits in my clean chair has nothing to do with it. And I am sure the preschool kids Evan goes to school with are all germ free. I just can't figure it out! Oh well, I am thankful I have been able to hold, cuddle, wipe tears, wipe noses, wipe bottoms, buy stock in hand sanitizer, read books over and over and sing silly songs. I will do it all over again if I have to too. The joys of being mommy, huh? I hope to have pictures next time.
Glad everyone is doing better. My neice and nephew seem to catch everything too. They have had strep a couple times already this year and they are going to the Dr. tomorrow to see if they have it a third time.
lol! I laughed out loud at your post. Sounds like my mom when we were little. Dad never seemed to get sick though. I think that was because of the mask he always wore the moment someone started to come down with something. He wasn't neccessarily nurturing! I guess that's where mom made up for it.
ohh..dont you hate that! we all got the stomach virus in January...and it seemed like it wouldn't go away!! but i actually ended up getting it too...no fun. and it does make u feel like your house will never be virus free again. glad ya'll are better now.
