A couple of weekends ago, I went on my second hunting trip this year and actually shot a deer. It was quite an experience. We took the deer to the processor; received it back this past weekend; I made a beef and noodles dish with some of the meat last night, yet didn't eat any myself. Todd and Cody said it was really good and didn't have a "wild" taste at all. I have some sort of mind to stomach connection about it...I just have a hard time eating anything out of the "norm." I'm glad they enjoyed it, though.
Stony Point is still in the playoffs. They play Garland this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Baylor. Go Tigers! |

I'm off to Lampasas tonight after Stony Point's football game. Go Tigers! They're playing Vista Ridge -- a little friendly rivalry there! Christena is going to the game with me (since Cody will be busy in the Blue Crew) and then we'll all three join up with Bret and Todd in Lampasas. I'm looking forward to it, although I'll just observe the hunting on this trip. The weather is supposed to be perfect -- great for seeing the stars tonight. (The stars are so much prettier outside of the city.) We'll be back on Saturday in time to watch the Horns whip the Red Raiders! |

We had a wonderful gospel meeting this week with David Banning. For those of you who are young parents, take hold of the ideas about expectations as your kids get to their teenage years. Mr. Banning is so right about that! There was a lady in my congregation where I grew up that was always so vocal to me about expectations, yet I had never thought of her comments in that exact light at the time. Along with that, she was a great encourager, often saying positive things to me and others. I really looked up to her my years in Middle and High School. We all can do those types of things for one another's kids, but we need to get to know them to do that (that's for me). Also, what a good tool to teach your kids, reverse peer pressure. Thanks to those of you who have little ones. They have been doing such a good job walking! |

I finally was able to post some pictures. I was able to figure out it was the size of my pictures that was the problem.
