Well the cake that I ended up making late Saturday night didn't turn out so great. I have used the bundt pan that I made the cake it numeous times. I let the pan cool for a long while and then flipped it. When I did the bottom 1/4 of the cake stayed in the bundt pan. I was so mad! I tried to piece it together...it looked horrible. So I made top of the bundt the top of the cake and iced it. It ended up looking ok from the outside it was only when you cut into that you only got half a piece cause the rest stayed in the bundt pan itself. We ended up going home after church on Sunday as my husband was still not feeling that great.
I've been enjoying the cake though....butter pecan cake and cream cheese icing. Yum.

I didn't leave work til late today 6 p.m! Ugh just when I am ready to leave and something comes up. Frustrating.
I'm off to get more laundry done.....


missy	Sorry about your cake. Hope your husband is feeling better.
joe	you could break it up into large chunks and make a killer bread pudding... everyone would think you were gourmet and no one would be the wiser :) alternatively, kitchenaid makes some rad silicon never-stick cake molds! click here

My sister and her girls were in town this week. I was able to take a day off of work and get to spend some time with them. I sure do miss them when they leave. My sister and I got up early today and went to about 5 holiday bazaars around town today. We found some cute stuff.
This evening we went out to dinner with friends of ours that we hadn't seen since we got married. It was nice to get to see them again and catch up.
The rest of this evening has been spent baking a cake and doing laundry. We are having a get together after church tomorrow at a park.
Well I'm off to put the icing on that cake...

missy	I bet your nieces are sooo cute. I remember meeting the oldest one in Conway several years ago and she is ADORABLE! Enjoy your picnic.

missy	I remember meeting you at camp before we were even at FC. Too many FC memories to name!
meridith	I remember meeting you the first weekend we were at FC because we knew Becky's family and went to their house for lunch. It is hard to think of just one memory from FC...as Missy said, there were too many!
aikenape	Hey, you were close on the movie thing...that was probably one of Meridith's favorite movies. We did watch that one a lot, too! I can still her singing "The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I say a little prayer for you!" Hilarious! I remember coming into your room all the time sophomore year and complaing constantly about my roomie and how horrible she was. That's just one of many, though.

My iron died......

I usually do my ironing on Sunday afternoons. I just got done with the ironing this afternoon when it started smoking and I mean smoking! I immediately unplugged it. I think it has died. I've had it about 3 years and bought it off the Home Shopping Network. It was a Euro Pro 1700 watt. I really liked it too. So now I am iron shopping. Does anyone have a good iron that they own for suggestions??? I've started hunting the internet for reviews.

We had a good time at Brent's family house on Saturday. My b-day money is buring a hole in my pocket. ;o)
Why is it during this time of year when there are scary movies on AMC that I have to stop and watch it?? Crazy...but I do.


aikenape	I bought a Rowenta (I think that's what it's called) for my mom last Christmas and she loves it. They're pretty expensive, but they do some in various prices, so you can always find something. You might even find a pink one in October to support Breast Cancer Awareness...I know they had that one last year. Or, you could always go with a cheaper Black & Decker. That's what I've had since we got married 4 years ago and it's been wonderful.
missy	I just have a cheapo iron, but it works fine. It might be Black and Decker. Have fun spending your bday money!
