Wow! Life is busy! I am currently a member of the church of Christ at Cason Lane in Murfreesboro. Before that I was at North Terrace in Chattanooga and before that in Oak Ridge.
Wow! It has been a long time since I have been on here! So here's the deal... I am now Mrs. Morrison as of December 21st, 2007 and am LOVING it! I have survived the first half of my first year as a teacher (wasn't always sure I would make it this far)! Oh, and I am now a member of the Cason Lane church of Christ where my new father-in-law is one of the elders. Josh, Darby, and I have successfully moved into our new apartment (more or less anyway). I think Darby is going to adjust just fine to life in an apartment. (Darby is Josh's dog.) It may take Josh a little longer to adjust since our neighbor's downstairs seem to play Halo fairly loud so that you can feel it through the floor. Anyway, life is going well.
Now it is your turn! Talk to me! Tell me what is going on with you!
Woohooo!! You're MARRIED!! :D SOOO happy for you!! Have fun with all the "first" things you'll do together! :) What's going on here...well, we're in the middle of painting our living room, putting up new baseboards and painting trim! Fun stuff, let me tell you. ;) But, the outcome will be worth it!
Oh! It's so easy! Go to photobucket.com and make an account. Upload your favorite pics onto there. It'll give you an "html" code underneath the pic after it uploads. Copy and paste that link in your "entry box" where you type your new blog. When you post it, the picture will show up on your blog! :) That's it!
Life is incredibly busy right now! I'm teaching 4th grade at a title one school and trying to plan a wedding. Yes, that is right. I am getting married this December on the 21st to the most wonderful man in the world! We got engaged on October 5th at Frozen Head State Park. :D YIPEE!!!
congrats! is there anybody besides me not getting married on the 21st? i'm photographing a wedding that day and i know of two more couples besides y'all and the ones i'm photographing getting married that day.
it has been awhile since I was a member at North Terrace. Actually I was probably about in the fourth grade when we stopped worshipping there and then we started a group in Cleveland where I was living at the time until we moved in 92 to Lake Charles La. Rodney Pitts was the preacher then, and now I think he is in Cookville Tenn. at the present time. Currently I live in Baytown Texas.
Yes, school is back in session. Crazy thing is... Now I'm the teacher! This past Thursday I got to meet most of my kids and their parents. Things have been crazy! I have spent just about every day possible working in my classroom since I've been here and been allowed to get in. Last week was the first actual week for the teachers and I spent several 10+ hour days at school. That doesn't count everything I had to do after I left school. Monday is our first full day of school (no parents present). I do not feel ready. Oh well. I think I'm going to have a fun class. I'm sure it will all work out. Anyway, I've got to go get ready for church. Just a heads up, I really don't expect to make it on here much for a while. TTYL.
P.S. OH! Josh graduated from MTSU yesterday! YIPEE!! My parents and a bunch of Josh's family all made it to celebrate! Congrats, my love!
That is so cool that you attend North Terrace. I attended there quite some time ago. My name is Sherry Butler and I am living in Baytown Texas now. I know many of the members at North Terrace: Bill and Nan Holt, Lori and Chip Bowan, Don and Linda Andrews, The Watkins, The Tillies, some of them may no longer attend at North Terrace anymore. The Last time we visited Brother Hurst was the preacher is he still there?
Opps... Ok, so it has been a while. I am now living in Smyrna, TN and have started working on my new classroom. I am going to be teaching fourth grade at Smyrna Primary School. Yipee!!! I am really excited (and really nervous, too). Things seem to just keep moving along at a nice brisk pace. God has definantly been watching over me!
Now then, does anyone have any ideas about decorating my classroom or books to include in my classroom library? Any and all suggestions are welcomed!
My dad was an art teacher for several years. One year, all the kids made papier-mâché fish (you could just use construction paper, sequins, etc.), and painted and decorated with an "under the sea" theme. It was very fun! They even made a giant octopus with old tennis shoes on the "legs". I would think it should ultimately end up being whatever your theme or focus is for the year. Good luck! :)
The day is quickly approaching when I will no longer be a Chattanoogan. In less than two weeks I will become a nomad. Well, hopefully I won't be a nomad for too long. The Morrison's are taking me in for the time being as I float between Oak Ridge and Smyrna for the month of July. Then it looks like I'll be staying with them untill I can buy a house there in Middle TN. (That won't be till fall since we have to see where Josh ends up getting a job.)
It seems so crazy to be packing up again and moving to a whole new place. Has it really been four years since I moved to Chattanooga? Am I really a teacher now? LOL When did that happen? Anyway, things are going great with me. Things just keep falling into place for my future life. I am going to miss this chapter of my life terribly. But hey! I'll come back and visit when I can!
I guess I should get back to packing up my apartment before I have to leave for work. I should have taken off more than one day at the end of the month to pack. This is taking a while since I have to decide what to keep, what to get rid of, what to send to Smyrna, what to send back to Chattanooga, and what I will need in the more immediate future. Ahh! Too many choices!
hey, katie! i didn't know you were on pleonast. have you moved to the boro yet? maybe i'll see you some at the devo in the boro...i can't make it on friday night, but i might try to come some on saturday and/or sunday! take care :)
