I'm planning on making some chili this weekend as our weather is getting colder and hot chili just sounds yummy! :) I am planning on using an ingredient that some might consider "strange" in chili and I'm basically making up my own recipe.
So this got me to wondering what ingredients other people use
that are kinda different from the "standard" chili recipe.
Now I'm not asking anyone to reveal a secret recipe or anything, just curious if you use maybe a special kind of bean or throw any extra veggies in there.
I'll let you know how my "experiment" works out.
UPDATE
The chili turned out pretty well. David said the spiciness (is that a word?) was just right. We had a few people from church over to share it with us. Kim said she liked it. Nathan didn't really say anything about it, but he ate the whole bowl, so I guess that means he liked it.
Also, David said that in TX they don't put beans in the chili . . . I don't really understand that, but whatever (to each his own).
I think my couple of adjustments to the standard chili recipe had good results :) (well, except for the heartburn).
