1. One of my favorite things to eat for breakfast is a piece of toast with peanut butter on it and a glass of milk.
2. I love the movie West Side Story.
3. I like all kinds of music (country, musicals, soundtracks of favorite movies, pop, some rock, the Beatles, barbershop, hymns, and I even like a lot of the kid music that my kids listen to).
4. My favorite room in my house is the screened in porch on the back. I especially like it on days like today (68 degrees and sunny).
5. I love to read. Harry Potter is one of my favorites!
6. I really like to color. Hannah and I will sometimes sit and color for an hour.
7. I played clarinet in the band in high school.
8. I like most sports; I enjoy playing softball (even though it's been a long time and I'm probably pretty rusty) and I like to watch most all college and professional sports, especially when it's tournament and championship time. Our favorite family sport lately is kickball!
I totally sgree with #3. I'm trying to expand Luke's music too. ;-0 We saw FC kids playing kickbball at intramurals last week. That would have been fun!!
Let's see...October. I know there is a golf outing with church peeps (not sure if that is the weekend though). The only other thing planned for October (and this is an annual event) is the Warren Dunes in MI the last weekend. So, we'll be up there 10/30-11/2. You guys should come up for that. It's a blast.
Brent and kelly had a boy about a week ago. they are both fine. He weighed approx 7lbs and?? ounces. Braden is his name. Brody, braden and Brady!! There wont be any confusion!!! hahaha!!
Hi, RAchel, it's been a long time! Sounds like you have a wonderful family going on there! I'm so happy for you all! I'd just love to see your whole family one of these days. Take care.
I'll ask Dan about the 24th. I don't think we have anything going on that weekend. I work on Friday's, but it would be alright with me to visit with everyone after work. Friday night is my late night...but I know that won't be easy with the kiddos. Anyway, what did you have in mind? Going out to eat? Hanging out at someone's house? Let me know. :-)
Thanks for calling last week! I'm so sorry I missed your call. I was working that day, my work days got switched around for month-end close. I had hoped to get back to you this week, but I spent all Monday packing for a trip, then worked yesterday & today. Tomorrow morning (Thursday) we're leaving to go camping for the weekend. I will try to call you sometime soon. Miss you!
*It has been 7 years today since that horrible terrorist attack. I remember being 6 month pregnant with Seth and crying about what kind of world we were bringing this precious child into.
*I have a child who is almost 7 years old! Seth has been such a joy and a blessing (and a challenge at times). He is loving the 2nd grade and has a wonderful teacher. I will start volunteering tomorrow afternoon and I am looking forward to helping some of the students and getting to know his teacher better. I like for my face to be known at school and to keep up with what's going on there.
*My baby girl is 4 years old now and she started preschool this past Monday. Hannah is very shy at school, but she talks non-stop about it when we're home. I'm hoping this experience will help her to open up a little bit more. We are looking at starting Kindergarten next year. Yikes!
*We have a baby boy who will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. He is growing like a weed! At his check-up on Monday he weighed 11 pounds and 15 ounces. He has a very sweet disposition so far. No one at church believes that he really does cry sometimes.
*We have been living here in Indiana for over a year now! It seems like yesterday that we left so many dear friends in Paducah and started a very exciting/scary work. Mark is doing a great job (okay, so I'm a little biased), but we are still adjusting to some of the challenges of being a preacher and preacher's wife. I have really enjoyed the summer here. I didn't care so much for all of the snow we had last year (a little is okay, but after 4 months of it, I was really tired of it). But, this past spring and summer have been wonderful. Indiana really is a pretty place to live. I am looking forward to this fall; it's probably my favorite time of year and the trees are absolutely beautiful here!
*Our country is getting ready to elect another president. I wonder again what this world will be like for our children. I remind myself that God is in control and He knows what's best for us.
Where have the months and years gone? As a younger person, I never really understood it when people would say how fast our time here passes. I'm starting to get it.
It IS hard to believe you have a 7 year old! I still remember the day you called me to say that you were pregnant with Seth. So much has happened since then, but yet it still feels like only a few days ago. Time does fly. Today I was wondering how Emma could already be 9 months old. Soon, I will be planning her birthday party. This afternoon I was rocking her to sleep, and all bundled in her blanket with her pacifier in her mouth, she still looked like a little baby to me. I hope I can remember those sweet moments forever.
Our babies are growing up so fast! Seems like yesterday you were moving into Majestic Oak Dr. and we were having Jackson! Was Addie and Hannah babies just yesterday!????
Our car went caput. We had to be towed and Jaun came to get us in Castleton where I work. So by the time all that happened, it was too late for Greenwood. :( I'm so bummed I missed you!!
I really haven't minded the wait, but it is starting to get a little ridiculous ... I'm honestly starting to feel like this whole baby thing is just a big practical joke, and I'm not ever actually going to have a baby!!
I remember that first year, some of it anyway, eating Cheerios out of the box...learning to say Mark & Rachel, yep all the "good things" his "uncle" Eric taught him :) And Hannah, just that tiny little baby girl, I remember my tiny Eden holding her on the floor at your house, such sweet memories that don't seem like 4 yrs ago! And it sounds as if I will finally get to meet little Ethan around Halloween! YEAH!!! I really can't wait to see you guys, June seems like so long ago! Love you!
It is a big day at our house today. My baby girl is turning 4 years old today!! I can't believe it! We are taking the kids to Chuck E. Cheese this afternoon and she helped me make cupcakes this morning. I think we might be crunching into some eggshells, but she was so proud of herself. Today is also Seth's first day of 2nd grade! I took him in this morning and we met his teacher. His class size looked big, but she said she offered to take more students because a lot of hers are more independent workers. He wasn't excited at first this morning; I think he likes being able to just play all day. But, once we got there and he saw some of the names of the kids from last year he was really happy. When I left him he was all smiiles. That made things easier on mom! :) I hope all of you have a great day!
I can't believe Hannah is 4! Time sure flies. How is Ethan doing? No, we haven't gone to the Stadium yet. The tour is this Saturday! We are getting excited! Keith and Andra and Beth and Allen are going with us!
A little egg shell never hurt anyone! I'm glad that Seth relaxed a little about 2nd grade. I heard you are going to see Terra this week! I'm jealous that she gets to see Ethan already!!
Hey! He got home this past Tuesday, but then we turned right around & headed to FL on Wed. Brad's getting married today! :-) Can you believe it? We're getting back next Friday. Yes, we definitely need to get together so I can see your new little man. I told Lins to post some pics but she hasn't yet. :-/
Luke loves economics and personal finance stuff and has been listening to Dave for years. We also have implemented a bunch of his stuff and it has worked well for us!
Most of you have heard, but our little Ethan Mark has arrived safe and sound. Our prayers were answered and he came without having to be induced. My water broke about 2am on Friday morning and we headed to the hospital. He was born at 9:12am on Friday, July 25th. He weighed 8 lb. and was 21 1/4 inches long. I think he is just perfect. We came home Sunday afternoon and so far everything is going well. He seems to be a very mild-mannered, content little baby. Hopefully that will stick. My mom and sister are here now helping out with the older kids, laundry, and cooking. Mark has also been such a wonderful help. I promise to post some pictures soon. I'll have to get some help from Mark on that since I've already forgotten how to do it. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes. I am so thankful he is here and the labor and delivery are over. Now comes the fun part!!:)
Please do post a pic, I'm eager to see what he looks like. I talked to Mark recently to get the news about your family. Tell your mom and sis hi for me. Hugs.
