This is one of my favorite new Chrismas songs, it reminds me of songs from the 60's. My favorite Christmas albums have been "Carpenters, A Christmas Portrait" and Barry Maninlow's "Becuase It's Christmas," and "Happy Holiday's" by Andy Williams. What is some of your favorite Christmas music?
I think you took all the chairs home with you. If I had been smart, and I wasn't, I would have absconded a few. We are having a different group over tonight for a little while. I'm on the lookout to buy some folding chairs, but so far haven't found any.
Yes, we can definitely return your fire rings this weekend. We leave on Monday, so we'll get them back to you on Saturday or Sunday for sure. Thanks for the loaners. We've been figuring out what we need to own for this land to work for us.
I talked to Fred and I think we'll leave around 5:30 to head down...depending on what time I get home from work. It could possibly be earlier but 5:30 at the latest.
There is NO stomach virus at our house. I repeat, NO stomach virus. I wasn't watching him close enough, and he had a few too many forbidden indulgences. I'm just sorry it had to happen at your house:( What a way to put a damper on the party huh?!
My Dad just got a second hearing aid recently and he can hear so much better than before that it is hard for him to nap during the day like use to. Also he use to always have the TV and radio very loud but now when I'm there I can hardly hear them when he has them on. I'm glad your surgery was successful. :)
Surgery went super well! Even with a bowl strapped to my ear that is filled with gauze I can already hear better!!!! I haven't even had to use any pain medicine, and the ringing is gone that I have had the whole time! I have been so blessed! The taste buds on the operated side taste nothing, on the other side sweet is super sweet and salty is super salty, it's weird. Anesthisia is the best thing ever, I just felt snuggly warm all night. I thank God for the great outcome and thank all of you for the prayers. Doin' great!
Yea! So glad things are going well. I'm amazed that you can already hear out of that ear! Now we'll offer up prayers of thanksgiving for your successful surgery as well as for continued healing. I think the hardest part now is to remember not to bend over or lift, pull, etc. Those are things we do without thinking!
I'm so disappointed that I won't get to see you with a bowl strapped to your head, but I'm glad the surgery went well. So now that you can actually hear, are you going to discover that the songs I gave you aren't that good after all? :)
Today's my big day, getting the stapendectomy done at 2:30. I ate up untill midnight and now get nothing, can't even chew a piece of gum, no water, nothing. I am expecting a nice caffine headache to make its appearance. I will be knocked out for the proceedure so I am a peace with the whole ordeal. It will be a few weeks or so till my hearing improves. I can't bend, stoop, lift, pull, push, etc. for the next two weeks. My son moved back home, he owes us lots of money, guess who is going to be my slave for awhile?! :) My taste buds will also be out of whack for awhile, food will taste like metal or cardboard, yup, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I am probably not going to care one hoot about the food. Wish me luck and say a prayer for me! Thank you!
Well, IF you needed to lose weight that would be great, but since you don't need to that is a real bummer. Tell Devin or Jim or someone to let us know how it goes and please know we will be praying for you...:)
I'm sorry food will taste like card board:( I'm glad you'll be able to hear like normal again though:)! I talked to dad and he said you're doing well but a little out of it, I would of called you but I figured you probably wouldn't be able to talk to me anyways, hope you start feeling better soon!!!
I'll eat extra food for you on Thanksgiving, and describe each delicious bite in detail, so it will be almost as good as if you could actually taste the food. Oh, and happy birthday (very late), although I did send a telepathic happy birthday message on Friday.
Me and a friend were given tickets yesterday to go to the Celtic Men concert. I thought why not, and I love to do stuff spur-of-the-moment. I had heard a little bit of their stuff before, I have heard more of the Celtic Women and know they are very good. It was interesting, a lot of men in kilts! There are 5 men ranging in age 13 to about 40. I was quite impressed with the 13 year old, he had a very, very good voice and I am ALWAYS in awe of young people with talent. The audience was pretty much 60 and over in age with a few exceptions. We had very good seats just above the floor level. I was SO VERY glad we were not on the floor because a young woman seemed to be wanting all the attention for herself. Before the show ever began she was just dancing up a stom, I knew she was probably going to keep it up. If I thought she was dancing before, when they came out she really stepped it up. I would have been SO ANNOYED had I been sitting down there, HUGE distraction! At intermission one of the ushers must have told her to stay seated because she was much better. The young boy singer sang "Puppy Love" and then tossed her a t-shirt which made me just groan, there were 2 sweet little girls he could have thrown it to. Other than that it was a pretty fun evening. Do you have any concert stories? I am sure this was nothing, I have never been to a rock concert and I can't imagine what must go on!
I went to a FREE Taylor Swift and Lifehouse concert with a HS Sophomore and a 6th grader (hey, it was free) and we all were down in the front almost ON the stage! Then I went to a Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood concert and left b/c Carrie Underwood was no good!
Are you sure the name of the group isn't Celtic thunder? I have seen them on tv and the thirteen year old is amazing. My mom was listening in the other room and thought t=it was ayoung donny osmond. I do not like it when they sing other songd besides the Celtic ones, but that is just me.
I have a big galvinized tub filled with fresh sunflowers (they look more like big daisey's) and if someone wanted to move it maybe to the pasture for some kid photo's I think it would really turn out well. It would make a great fall picture! I might be out so if you need me call my cell.
We're okay. The kids all have low grade fevers...all except Brady. Todd had a massive allergy attack and really was in no shape for me to leave him with 4 kids tonight while I came to church. I feel fine.
Let me know if you have any interest or availability to hang with some kids on Wed. I am trying to go on a field trip with Andrew's class, but don't know how well it's all going to work out.
Well, I'll be in touch and see what develops. I am not even sure what the field trip schedule is and of course, the health of the children could play a role here, though I hope it won't...
Lucy was quite a trip to be around today. Still in good spirits, though slightly feverish. She had an answer to "how are you?" that went like this: I'm running a fever. (pause) I'm not feeling very good. (pause) I'm sick. And she was pretty perky while spitting out this information. I even got it on video, which I'll post soon.
I think everyone will be fine on Wednesday, but we'll see.
Glad you had a nice night with Jim. Talk to you soon.
I am imaging that the Lannings will be here at our house. We are having thanksgiving a few days early because my parents are coming down. I do not know what they will do thanksgiving day- but I bet they go out in the boat.
