Happy Thanksgiving - hope you all had a great day with family and friends. Mom and Dad have been here all week and we've been having a blast :)

Anyone go Black Friday shopping? We went (at 4:30) but I didn't find as many good deals as I usually do.

For Christmas, Mom and Dad gave me my big present early because it would be too hard for me to bring back here--

Photobucket

I am SOOO EXCITED and I can't wait to use it!!! (Hubby is looking forward to more baking...)
fireboltThat is awesome!!! I am so jealous!

Well enough election stuff. Everyone's facebook statuses are back to normal,
so its time to move on :)
Thanks for everyone's comments and good thoughts!

Ok, one more thing. Prop 8 passed here (to keep marriage
between one man and woman), which is a huge blessing. Of
course people are flipping about it, saying its unfair and unloving, etc.
Already 3 appeals to the courts.
Hopefully we won't have to vote about it again anytime soon.

First week back at work after vacation is always hard. Everyone is out of routine.
Found out AJ can switch schools earlier then I thought so I'm trying to get everything together for that.

Friends of ours are going out of town this weekend and we're watching their kids..
I have a LOT to do before then!

Happy Thursday! (almost the weekend!!)
chariroseyI am happy it passed. I'm really surprised it did pass in CA!
stylinmamaI don't get how the whole country can vote for one man to be president and the people who didn't vote for him dont' call for another vote, but when a Proposition passes then it's okay to have another vote because some people don't want it that way. What's with that? People voted, it passed, get over it. :)
dixiedawnI was really surprised too but really glad, too!! that's awesome!
twoI read something suggesting that the proposition's passage was directly related to Obama's election: African Americans turned out in record numbers, and they voted for Prop 8, whereas white Democrats voted against it. In other words, had Obama not been running for President, the proposition may have failed.
scbrewerI should point this out before I go ballistic. California has overturned gay marriage bills more times than I can count.
under_da_seayea, it didn't pass just because Obama ran. It's been overturned so many times before. What the opposition needs to do is put it up to a vote themselves, instead of going and using crooked judges to get it stopped.
kiss_the_rainall the white republicans that live up in this area voted yes! haha
ryguyThat's awesome news about Prop 8!
lboogie1403i don't even live there and I'm SO happy Prop 8 passed too :)
mrs_poochieglad to hear about prop 8
stylinmamaNov. 18th. One week from Tuesday! :)
thearteestHurray for Prop. 8 - Amendment 2 passed here in FL :)
kymomto3who's kids are you watching?
scbrewerYeah, thats why I put that Cali is first in production in the country for dairy :) I don't think others realize that, I honestly don't think people really much think about what goes into their food and where it comes from .

I'm going to say it. If you're a Christian and voted for
Obama, that is just shameful. Since when does God tell us to be part of the world- to go along with what those in the world think? For all the babies that will be killed in the next 4 years and the disasters that will likely happen, we can look to you. When Obama spreads the wealth,
I hope you intend on giving me yours. *I'll insert a little sarcasm here*

Isaiah 43:1-2,5
"But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.

When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you"

I'm thankful I serve a gracious God who will protect me and my family and fellow Christians. God always protects the Righteous. But I guess our country is getting what we deserve.

Pray.
kerriganwhich part gets the sarcasm?
kerriganrom 13:1-2
fireboltI agree with EVERYTHING you just said. :)
lyndieHaving an adopted daughter (and of course as a Christian) the abortion thing has been really hard for me. I appreciate you and your thoughts!
be_with_me_lordNow the tears...
the_dow_dadDon't worry; Be happy! :)
lboogie1403awesome words sarah...I wish more Christians shared the same views as us...
t33ng1rlsqu4dif only everyone felt this way. :[
i guess all we can do now is keep our chins up and pray!
kerriganI feel like I need to clarify what I said earlier. I do not disagree with you. I do, however, believe that babies would die via abortion no matter who was elected tonight. 8 years of Bush did nothing to abolish it, and 4 years of McCain would probably do little better. total illegalization of abortion would not result in a cessation of the act.

The nation has elected a leader who will work to justify their heinous acts. Power to the democracy.

I have spent the last few days trying to come to terms with knowing how this election would end, and knowing that this world is NOT my home, I am here to glorify God, and no matter what happens I bet we will not face persecution like the apostles did, EVER. What I can do now is pray for the nation and its leaders, strive to glorify Him and spread the gospel, and submit to the governing authorities.

I don't think that the millions of deaths of unborn babies can be pinned on any single voter, even if they did vote for Obama. That's what caused me to have an emotional reaction to your post. However, the voters have spoken. And I think we will get exactly what has been promised... change... that we not only will believe in... but that we will be unable to deny.
kiss_the_rainMy point was about supporting someone who supports abortion in general, and especially late-term abortion, among other things..and that just totally disgusts me. I didn't say anyone will ever ban abortion, they won't. But it makes things SO much worse to have a president that supports it and makes no effort to stop something so terrible.
kerriganI agree. I do think, however, that if someone had very strong feelings on other issues (and I don't mean in this election specifically) and voted for a pro-choice candidate in light of several of those other issues, I would understand it. I would not agree with, encourage, or support it, but I would understand it. I think.
kerrigan(Of course, this is also coming from someone who has lived in a very red state for all of her life and has only voted on principle in the last two presidential elections. My opinion might be different if I knew the said person was voting in a state where their vote really counted.)
brianneGood thoughts. There is actually quite a few people where I attend have chosen to vote for Hussein. I totally agree that it's shameful, and I'd almost go as far as to say that it's sinful for Christians to willingly choose to elect a man that is SO sinful and worldly and supports so many things that go against God and His commandments. I believe that those who have voted for such a horrible person will have to answer at judgment.
jeffhBut it's not shameful to vote for someone who is an unrepentant adulterer (McCain)? Every candidate has a sinful view on something, since when was one sin worse than another?

If it's shameful to vote for a candidate who supports abortion, then it's shameful to vote for a candidate who tolerates any other type of sin.

And Brianne, I don't think it's right to be derogatory towards Obama by calling him that. If you weren't intended to do that, then you wouldn't have called him by his middle name.

Keep in mind that God was/is in control over the election. Obama wouldn't be there if God didn't want him to be there. Romans tells us to pray for and to submit to our leaders. It doesn't appear to me that some of the people on here are very willing to submit.

Now to clarify things, I would have preferred that Obama not win, but he did, so I'm going to pray for him and submit to him.
chariroseyI agree!
hamm0ndeggsa) do I know you?

b) I like what he has to say. I may not like that Obama won, but I'm going to give him my support, as is my responsibility as a christian and as an american.

c) Do you guys remember what the past 8 years felt like? I do. I was openly ridiculed for supporting Bush, his decisions, etc., and I basically learned to hate Democrats as a general rule. To that end, I recommend that we not play the same game that has been played against us. We should be better than that.

d) it could be Hillary who's our president-elect. So count your blessings.
hamm0ndeggsOh. And thanks for taking so much from my post.
larryWe can play that game with McCain as well. He is just as much of the world than Obama. He supports abortion. I don't think a Christian had any business voting for McCain... just my opinion
kiss_the_rainJeff, I didn't say anything about voting for McCain. I didn't agree with a lot of what he stands for- he is totally middle of the road.

hamm0ndeggs- I didn't trash Obama. No one knew Bush was going to go to War when we went into that presidency. People already know a lot of what Obama is about. And I think, honestly, we might be better off with Hillary at this point. Haha!!

My whole point was to people who actually voted FOR Obama. I have several friends that did- overlooking some of the evil things he believes in. I didn't say anything about voting for McCain- I was just saying as a Christian I don't see how, in good conscience, anyone could have voted for Obama.

I will serve under him as God tells me to, and I won't trash him- that isn't my intent.
sharonThe point is, we're getting just a *little* closer...well, farther...away from the Godly America that we should be. Jesus isn't ever going to run for president, but God certainly doesn't want our morality to continue to inch down into the toilet.
field_mouseIn reference to whether Christians voting for Obama was okay vs voting for McCain, I think the point that was made was that Obama may be a murder-supporter (abortion) but McCain was an adulterer and that sins can't be compared. I agree that sin is sin no matter what it is, but I think the difference is that McCain's adultery doesn't necessarily play a part in the lives of millions of innocent people. Abortion is wide-spread, supporting it is condoning the murder of the innocent (this obviously affects more than you and your family--it affects MILLIONS of people and families). So I would venture to say that it isn't about comparing the sins, it's about realizing that abortion is SO devastating.

It's definitely shameful to vote for someone who supports abortion--why argue with that?? My argument is with the statement that it's also shameful to vote for someone who tolerates any other type of sin. I suppose under those circumstances, it would be wrong to vote for anything (even president of the PTA at an elementary school). My point is that between someone who condones abortion and plans to take action vs. someone who cheated on his wife and has not made that right---which will affect the nation more?
be_with_me_lordWhether it is support of gay marriage or abortion, these are moral issues we can't let continue to overtake our society. When someone says, "I'm voting for the lesser of two evil", of course you are, none of them are Christians. What we forget is the influence one man or party can have on an issue such as abortion. Obama can and will influence more legislation to support it. I seriously doubt McCain being an adulterer as was Reagan, would pass legislation to make it somehow any more okay than unscriptural divorce is right now. The issues just don't equate.
the_dillardsAmen sister! I am sorry, but to those who have said things about if you voted for McCain you would be just as wrong, but McCain has not mocked or lashed out at religion or the Bible that I am aware of, go to : http://www.youtube.com/v/4FCNKwHRCQM if you would like to see Obama's thoughts of the Bible. I personally am sick of seeing him! Anyways, Sarah I agree whole heartedly with you. I have thought that all along.
