The pie crusts are made, turkeys thawing, sweet potatoes boiling to be peeled, found fresh cranberries finally--was getting worried for a bit. Have a well recommended blueberry pie recipe since mine is still in a box. Time to get pies made Thursday since the group of people we're having for Thanksgiving work at Cheyanne Mountain 12 hour shifts Thursday, off Friday so we're doing turkey a day later! Nice to be retired and able to do that.
Running out of fridge room is my biggest problem right now...
Hope all have friends or family joining them and enjoy the company more than the good food! For all our countries problems we are still very blessed.
I've decided I need a part time job to get out and be around people. I'm much more organized when I have a schedule. I actually am forgetting days. Caught up with the unpacking, I'm adjusted to just the two of us, and we're getting the chores divided OK. Now I need to get moving and out of the house before I start taking daily naps....
What is your e-mail and I'll send you my family recipe for Jambalaya. For Red Beans and Rice I sort and rinse a lb. of red beans. Add them to cold water, and add chopped garlic, chopped bell pepper, chopped onion, bay leaf, black pepper. Cook for a few hours on low, add sliced smoked sausage, and salt. Add the salt. Cook until beans are tender. Serve soupy over rice. Serve with a big salad, and garlic bread.
Forget each kindness that you do, as soon as you have done it.
Forget the praise that falls to you, as soon as you have won it.
Forget the slander that you hear, before you can repeat it.
Forget each spite, each slight, each sneer where ever you may meet it.
Remember every kindness done to you, what e’re it’s measure.
Remember praise by other’s won and pass it on with pleasure.
Remember every promise made and keep it to the letter.
Remember all the happiness that comes to you in living.
Forget each worry, and each disaster, be hopeful and forgiving.
We have Bubba Garner from TX here for a half week meeting. Very good lessons today. Hi daughter is in love with the boy that was sitting in front of us this evening....according to the note she wrote on the other side of the picture she drew of me. Cute little girl and very polite. They are enjoying the mountain view not having been here before, they did have a beautiful cloud on top of the mountain this morning to see on the way to worship.
