I was told by a few people I needed to update. Problem is...
I really have nothing to update about. Perhaps as I type, I will be filled with some randomness of interest to you all. I sat through a super long training today, and that was quite unenjoyable. School (the school I'm paying for) is moving right along this semester. I am putting out my fall decorations today, and looking forward to having Jared in town this weekend. Aaron is really excited to see him. Of course the downside, not having Jess here too!!
Like I said, I really have nothing good to say. I have been in a super "fall" mood and am loving being able to open our windows so much (temperatures in the 80's by day and 70's by night have been a much anticipated thing!) and have pulled out all of my fall candles and airfreshners.
I hope that everyone else is enjoying October so far. I'm already scoping out pumpkins and trying to figure out what I want to carve on my perfect pumpkin this year. October 2nd is my favorite day of fall, becuase 12 years ago, on Oct. 2, 1996, I decided to put away my old life and be washed with Christ to become a Christian. It's a constant process to keep growing and learning, and I look forward to another year in God's service!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Maybe I'll have something more interesting to update with next month!
I love Fall, too. I have a Pumpkin Pie scented Yankee candle burning right now. It's my favorite.
Yay for the anniversary of your life as a Christian. Fight the good fight.
Love Comes Softly is the first in a series by Janette Oke, and Inside My Heart is by Robin McGraw. They were both suggestions from peeps on pleo....so we'll see!
Being a Christian does take constant effort! It is a mean world we live in but it helps to have such great friends in the same boat! I enjoyed reading your post! Happy October 2nd to you!...sunshine!
It was so great to be home last weekend and spend time with all of my family and friends. My mom's side of the family, as of yesterday (my aunt gave birth to twins), has 6 kiddos under 4, 5 of those are under 2, I lovved playing with all of the kiddos. I have the sweetest nieces and nephews! Mostly, I just have the SWEETEST and most talented 13 year old sister EVER!
Peri's slumber party was a blast, nothing mroe enjoyable than a good pool game! It was hard to leave everyone and head back home.
This past wednesday night and this weekend though reminds me of why I do enjoy so much being in Tampa, and what makes it easier to be away from family.
Wednesday night after services, we had our usual Starbucks run with the Tabor family, the most awesome familly here we know. They encourage us so much, the parents and the children are WONDERFUL!
Last night we did yard and house work, then headed out for a late dinner with Robert and Ashley and laughed and filled our bellies.
Tongiht....we enjoyed so much a good night of food, a very close football game between USF and UCF (GOOOO BULLS!), and a bike ride. The evening was great because it was with my FAVIORITIST Erika, ever, Mo and Scott, my FAVORITE sis n law and sweetest friend stephanie and bro Adam, the Ciampas, including baby Braden, and the Robert and Ashley. Having such wonderful friends who are our family here makes being away from family so much easier. We had a blast, and I'm thankful for them all.
Now...my husband has signed up for Facebook this week (I'm still in shock), I must drag him off of the computer so that we can get some sleep for the Lord's day tomorrow!
Sounds like an awesome weekend! We miss you guys! Watching the USF game was not nearly as fun without everyone in Tampa! Clayton was glued to the TV all night. What a close game! :)
Enjoy the wonderful privilege of worshipping with so many saints and hearing the word...and we can ride there in our air-conditioned or heated cars in comfort. Glad you get to enjoy the good friendship of those sweet Arellano girls.
Autism Education Coordinator through Spectrum Schools Valley Campus. That means I'm the direct supervisor over the 3 classrooms. I'm really gonna enjoy it I think!
Thank you Kris!!!! Yeah it really was some storm. I've lived in FL nearly my whole life and have never seen such a bad storm. That wind sure was scary. We're fine and over at his parents house taking advantage of the electricity. Clayton's parents went to Belton (a few hours North of here) to pack up Lindsey's apartment since she is moving back here. They're coming back tonight. :)
yeah look at me making the effort to crawl out of my hole and you don't even show up!! figures!! j/k i love you...and i miss you. want to get coffe sometime soon?
I did say "What were thinking?!!!" But Hopefully it will be an opportunity to influence her. I spent yesterday keeping the little girl so she could work. Like most children, she is such a sponge when it comes to learning Bible class songs and having books read to her. I'm a real sap when it comes to little kids and she is so sweet. Keep this effort in your prayers. Brownie has a class with Faith tonight.
Peri is SO excited that you and Aaron will be for the slumber party! She was just beside herself!! :) Thanks for making her so happy! See you guys tonight!
Hey sweet girl! So glad you are in Mobile this weekend! Did you know Michael is coming home tomorrow? He will be at services on Sunday. Wish we could be there to see him. Have a great time - and pass along a hug to him from me!
Thanks Kristen... you aren't the only one that has told me not to get stressed out because it's all over so quick. And besides, the wedding and all that stuff isn't what is important but the marriage itself.
...and already leaving for vacation. I'm sitting in the airport, awaiting a plane to Chicago. I'm heading there for the weekend to meet my aunt, Kay, and spent quality time over the weekend. She has to go up there for this upcoming week, so we thought we would take a few fun days before her meetings or whatever on Monday. I'll return Monday, the first day of school for students. Oh well. They won't miss me. Besides, Therapy doesn't start for 2 weeks, so I'll just build my therapy schedule while on the plane heading back to Tampa.
I get back in town Monday, and Aaron leaves Monday to go to Indianappolis for the work for a few days. He was sad at first that he couldn't make the trip with Kay Kay and I, however, as of last night, I think he is looking forward to being able to play Wii, watch ESPN, play soccer, you know all those boy things that he does normally, but under a more "limited" basis.
I hope you are having or had a great time with Kay Kay in Chicago. I owe you a huge phone call. School just started, plus with two jobs things are a little crazy right now...so please bear with me. I will call you soon! Miss you!
Bummer, we would have loved to see him. We are not that far north. Only about 20-25 minutes. Next time he needs to call.....we could have worked something out. :(
I grew up with your husband. Would you tell him Cassie (Smith) Barajas said hi. I also met Lindsay and Craig, who knew you. They were vacationing in Las Vegas and are very nice individuals. It is a small world
Hey! The many times you've been to NYC, you could give me some tips! A group of friends and I are planning a trip there for my 30th bday. Where do you recommend staying? We are trying to go for 4 nights and spend less than $1000 total for all expenses - including spending money. So share some knowledge! :)
I would love for you to live close so we could pick peaches and apples together, or just hang out. Oh well. We are planning to come to Tampa sometime in December/January. I'll let you know and maybe we can meet for coffee or something if ya'll are in town.
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Stephen just recently learned how much I loved my "kids" and that I had 10 of them and can still name them (oh and they're all packed, waiting for their trip to Florida.
Hey, where are you guys going to staying Fri. night? We are having a spend the night party for Peri, Kay is coming, you guys are welcome to come stay here!! We can do some night time swimming!! Or also an invitation for Saturday evening to watch the AL game, it starts at 7pm I think, Randy plans to have the 54" turned in...we would love to have guys come over, to any or to all! We have plenty of water and t.p. in case the storm comes ...so we are prepared!!
And yes Aaron is welcome at the spend the night too! We have plenty of room for you guys!! Really would be fun. Although I think you are probably traveling at this time and probably won't see any of these messages, oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I tried Sushi for the first time this week. The Gates were my support group, and it was very good. I always new I would like it, just never tried it before.
I'm ready for more!
Internship: Complete
Back to Work: Monday
First day of last year of Grad School: August 25th
good grief, you sure have been in school for a long time. Aren't you ready to grow up yet? j/k :) I have to admit, I'm not cool enough to say I've tried sushi - it just hasn't appealed to me yet.
Ok...so I stink at the whole calling back thing. Things have been crazy for the past couple of weeks, but I will be calling you soon! I'm so sorry about the accident. I'm just glad that you're ok...a definite answer to prayer! I will talk to you soon, I promise! Love you and miss you! And congrats on finishing your internship! I know it's a huge relief!
Hey. He is ssooo much better. Almost 1 hour after placing the WIC into his ear...his spirits started changing and he started playing around and laughing and the real JAKE started coming out again. It was like almost immediate. We went back to the Doctor yesterday and they changed ear drops to one that has a steroid in it to provide more for the swelling inside because there is so much that he is having bleeding inside the canal itself. He is sleeping throught he is sleeping thru the night, which WE were not doing at all last week. Thanks for the comments.
yay for your internship being complete & trying sushi! boo for your car accident! i'm sorry that happened, but praise be to God that none of you were hurt!
