Well, my wife has put the baby down. She had to do it, the poor thing broke a leg. You know their bread to run and you just can't get them to stay off the leg long enough for it to heal. It's sad, but really, it's the most humane thing to do.
Anyway, we didn't really shoot her of course but it seems we have retarded her brain function irrevokably. My better half found an article online today that said children should not watch TV before age 2 (I'll give you a moment to go turn off you TV; got it? good) And even then only 30 minutes a day tops. Then we found about 300 million hits comfirming the story. I've notified Harvard that our child will be going to Yale now and when I told the Rhodes scholar people they said they would stop calling, because the parents of the year at my house have been bombarding our child with senseless TV viewing of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to the tune of 3 or 4 hours a day. Okay, so some of the time we maybe watching Star Trek, Colbert, Stewart, CSI, or anyone of the big 3 sports (uh, sorry hockey), but the point is we've been out of control with this TV thing. Now, I'm willing to guess we can reverse the damage with plenty of board books and counting by tens, but we've had to put ourselves on a pretty strict regimen. I haven't even watched tonight's Boston Legal yet!
Well, my child is worth some sacrifice I guess. Any advice from the world at large?
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I think was doomed from the start because no matter what you do she will end up taking after her parents. as bad as that may sound there is a chance she could turn out okay if she get enough outside influences from other people.
i think the trick is just moderation in everything. it's probably unrealistic to expect our kids to eat only broccoli and never watch any tv. does mmch come on 4 hours a day?? luke's watching elmo riiiight now. it's when i get laundry done. =P
Sorry it took so long to write back. I can see the wisdom in voting for someone who has similar moral beliefs as we do. We call that voting your conscience. The problem begins when we assume we know why our brethren are not voting their conscience when their vote does not agree with ours. Some believe abortion to be the biggest issue. Others our troops dying in Iraq. Whichever party we vote for, we are going to have to compromise some of our beliefs to elect anyone. I think the Jehovah's Witnesses have it figured out. It's best if Christians stay out of politics!
Hi Kyle! This is Brianne (Nix) Vaughan. How are you doing? It's good to see you on here. How are your parents? I hope you and your family are doing well. :)
It doesn't matter, we can't even afford an in state college! Let her watch, maybe it'll keep her from noticing the rest of the house. Of course we run the risk of her first sentence having something to do with erectile dysfunction...
about time we get a picture of kes posted. kind of sad it wasn't posted by her parents though :)
kyle being the first person to comment on your own blog is a little sad :)
Wow, there's a box here and I type in it. Hey, is this better than talking to me on the phone? Wait, is this thing even on? Man, blogging is totally awesome. I'm just typing and it's going on the screen and everything. Well, I think I'm supposed to tell this little black box all my inner most thoughts on the world and stuff, but I don't think I'll do that tonight since no one even knows I'm here
