Wow!! I has been an incredibly long time since I have written on here. Married life is going swimmingly :) The more I spend time with Richard, the more I thank God he's my husband! What are you thankful for? I would love to know :) I pray all is well.
"I will give thanks to the LORD, for he has dealt bountifully with me." Ps. 13
I am thankful for way too many things right now to start listing them. This might cover most of them though... I am thankful for finally getting to live down here and associate with many great christian people I can call friends now! All is going well and I am happy to hear you are doing well! Love you! :)
Well, it is official. I am now moving out of my house and into Lesli and Mark's house. I have to say, it is such a relief... I will not go into details, because I do not wish to gossip or spread anything, but I had been having a pretty difficult time living where I was, and I am SO GRATEFUL to Mark and Lesli for opening their home to me.
Today, in my Medeival Literature class of all places, I was struck with a really interesting train of thought. Our professor was quoting I John, "God is Love," and for some reason this verse just hit me more than usual. If God is love, then all gifts and acts of love are gifts and acts of God. Thus, all acts of kindness done out of love, both to us and by us, are gifts directly from God. Now, I know we "know" this, but I had never really stopped to think about the significance of this. Every time someone hugs us or sends us a card or a gift or a place to stay, it is a direct gift from God. Likewise, every time we hug or send a card or a gift or any act of kindness. We are doing God's work to give out His gifts to others because he is love. This may sound like small ramblings, but it certainly made me stop and think about all the kindness I have been blessed with and all the people who show me love on a daily basis. These people, many of which are YOU, are gifts from God, and I am trying to take more time to thank Him because I know, with a greater clarity, that I owe Him the credit and I also have a greater responsibility to love in return so that I might be His instrument for love.
hey, do you happen to have my GG S5? it's cool if you do, i just noticed it missing last week and I can't remember who borrowed it. i know you have wonderfalls- also still cool with me
Hi future cousin-in-law! This is Lauren Duggar, Richard's cousin. WELCOME TO THE FAMILY IN A LITTLE OVER 24 HOURS! :):) I know that y'all will be very happy together!
This week has been really great for me. I started it by going home to see my family. I love everyone in College Station, but going home always reminds me of the friends and family I left behind. It was nice getting to catch up.
Also, my mom had been in the hospital with pneumonia, ecoli, and a kidney infection, but she is now out and well. I thank the Lord for that.
To top that off, I think I aced my midterm today, and I had a professor allow me to make up a missed quiz even though that is not her typical policy.
The Lord has blessed me in many ways this week. In what ways have you been blessed this week?
The patient that I got two weeks ago who went into cardiac arrest three times on my shift got transferred out to the floor this week. More of a blessing for him, yes. But that, combined with two of our other long-term patients in the unit who nobody thought would make it, who are actually getting better, is a blessing to all of us to remember that sometimes all of our work is doing some good for somebody!
I wish you were here! I am in the mood to paint the town red with no one to do it with....But then again I dont know if you can do that any more because you are engaged ;) hehehehe
So I happen to have the best fiance in the world! Guess what I did for Valentine's Day? Oh you'll never guess...
I got dressed up and was flown to Dallas with Sparkling apple cider and chocolate covered strawberries with my honey, of course.
Once in Dallas, we were driven, by a chauffer(sp?) to Simply Fondue, which just happens to be one of my absolute favorite resaurants, where we had a four course meal.
Then we flew back to College Station! I love my fiance, and not because he flew me to Dallas, but because he is amazing!!
I just wanted to toot his horn a bit because he absolutely deserves praise for this one. I will never forget such an incredible and thoughtful night!!!
so pretty much I stick with what I said while I was in CS... We need to go back in time and have Richard's parents have two boys instead of one and then that way we could still be sisters for real :)
As promised, here are a few movies I have seen recently that I thought were pretty cute/ worth seeing:
The Game Plan (a nice positive message, clean!)
Sydney White (cute, but kind of cheesy)
Stardust (also a little cheesy, and it was a fantasy movie, but pretty funny)
hmm...
I guess that's it for now without any real direction to go with. If you have a specific genre in mind, I can probably be of more help. I have a really wide range of movie tastes, so I apologize in advance if you don't actually like any of these.
