This week, Mon.-Wed., I am working with my mother-in-law at a Honeybee Ham store. It will give us a little extra money for the holidays. The kids did MOST of the things I left instructions for them to do while I was gone ;-)
I don't like being away, but we need the extra money this year. Things are very "tight"...

My birthday also came and went. It was Oct. 30, and we were campaigning.
First, my oldest daughter thought I should wake up to THIS on my birthday morning...
I won't add the pics, but my van was filled with balloons and glass chalked all over. My bushes were wrapped with streamers and my tree with toilet paper. The lawn had big letters in it "Lauri is 40". It was GREAT!!!
My husband was so wonderful and was very thoughtful about it. He didn't do all of the "black, over the hill" stuff. He was just sweet. He brought everything up to the hotel we were staying in (well, the kids and I were staying in a local hotel) and we had a big party with everyone involved in the campaign.
Here are a few pics...

October 17, my 4th child turned 12!
We have been so busy she didn't really get a party! We went to a 50's style hamburger joint, with just family, and then there was a scavenger hunt for some of the homeschoolers that had b-days in October. There were over 50 kids there!!!
Our weekends have been filled with soccer and campaigning. Maybe in the next 2 weeks I can try to have a joint little party for my 2 that had October birthdays. They want to celebrate with their friends.
I have a few pics of her opening presents, but they are still on my camera and my camera is in the car. I'm too lazy to go get it right now :-) The first one is almost a year old... This next one is both "October Birthday" girls with a couple of their friends from HSCamp.

I spent 2 1/2 hours in line to vote today.
I needed to early vote because I will be campaigning and sign waving next week on election day!
I feel so relieved that I have done my duty...(but so concerned that people are voting without making an educated decision)
Now I have to finish the job with our GOTV (get out the vote) campaign for our man, Chris Gorman for Congress! |
