I think this past year has been the fastest one of my life. Elijah will be turning one in about 3 weeks! It seems like he was just born. I was looking through old pictures on my memory card ( trying to delete a few to make room for pictures of Natalie's ABC parade at school today) and I came across his first pictures in the hospital. Now he is sitting on the floor near me, clearing things off of the desk then picking them up and putting them back- repeat. :)
At Natalie's karate class last night they mentioned a day camp coming up where one of the things they learn is how to use nunchakus .... I didn't sign her up for the camp- but I'd like to go! Oh, they use foam nunchakus with the kids- not wooden.
Yes... I had to look up how to spell it... but I was close on my own :)
how adorable! Life has been crazy round here but its like that for everyone :) Love ya and cant belive the kids are one and going to be. Its awesome though to see them grow and learn and be all curious! I love it! Being a mom is the greatest gift ever!
Please pray for my niece Katie- their youngest. She had been fighting an ear infection and is now in the hospital. I don't think that they have an exact diagnosis yet. She was having trouble breathing Thursday. They took her to urgent care and then they were sent to Children's. She had to have several breathing treatments over night and has had some antibiotics through an IV.
-----------Katie was released from the hospital Friday afternoon and is improving!
Hailey had a blocked duct when we first came home with her. It opened up within the first two weeks though. Riley had conjunctivitis when she was a month old, she got it, and we couldn't get rid of it without the drops for her. Riley's cleared up on it's own. My brother had several sets of tubes in his tear ducts to open them up. So if they want you to go that route my mom would be a good source of support :o)
I've been praying for her...sorry i haven't had a chance to call you yet..last week was our gospel meeting and you know how busy those weeks are! talk to you soon.
Ever since I saw this movie when it came out, I've been fascinated by "large" families. I loved seeing the scenes of breakfast where they cook 3 cartons of eggs along with a couple of loaves of bread for toast for breakfast. When we met our friends, the Walker Family in Ohio, who have 10 children I was amazed and admired many things about them. The past 2 weeks we have been living with 8 people in a 2 bedroom ( just under 1200 sq ft) apartment. I realize this is no where near 2 adults having 12 children, but it's the closest I've ever been to that! We have had a wonderful time with our family. There have been moments when Angie and I about lost our minds, but the fun memories will overshadow that :) We went to Sea World which included petting and feeding dolphins, and seeing some shows with beluga whales and seals. We visited the Alamo and Mission San Jose, and just had fun letting the kids play together. It's so neat to see them all together. Elijah liked to grab Katie's pacifier and use it, and sometimes she even gave it to him! Abbi and Natalie played and swam and even went to school together :) Rachel filled the house with songs such as "I see London, I see France..." :) Angie and I got to play our favorite game- Flower Power.
After some rest, I will try to update more specifically and post pics. Right now Angie is at the store with 4 of the 5 so I am going to go relax for a bit.
awww... sister fun. i appreciated your last post about getting to know your neice (i miss mine). church family is great but it's not the same as blood/married into family. enjoy the rest of their visit!
I'm so thankful they got to go out and visit you all. I know you both needed that time together! I was gonna call you when I got your message but didn't want to interupt sister time :) So I'll ring ya soon. Love ya and pray that you all can come visit us soon too :)
Rachel is my niece. She is almost 2 1/2 years old. In the past few days I have gotten to know this little girl better, and she is worthy of a post on my blog dedicated entirely to her.
Sometimes people talk about the "middle child" getting "lost" in things- not having their own place. Well, if you ask me Rachel stands out, in a wonderful way. She has curly red hair, clear blue eyes and the sweetest voice ever! She even sounds sweet when she is yelling or shouting :) This happy little thing walks around singing and is full of imagination. Some of her recent songs include The Lord's Army and Jesus Loves Me. When I hear her voice I can't help but smile! She likes to take puzzle pieces out of the puzzle books, and eat "chipys". Last night she licked the spatula and bowl used to make cookies, then wanted to wash off her hands in the dish water in the kitchen sink. Afterwards, she stood in the kitchen and said " There's water on the floor, Ma'am"
I had forgotten how fun it is to have a little one her age around. There is always an adventure waiting to happen as they are still discovering things on the very beginning of their journey to independence.
She is a sweety! All of Angie's kids just seem to ooze little joyful spirits. That is a credit to their mommy. And their aunts...we have a lot of hand in how these little neices and nephews grow up! :)
This visit has surely placed you in your nieces hearts as 'the favorite aunt'. I love all my aunts but I still have my favorite aunt. I love her dearly. What blessed girls to have an aunt like you!
