Savannah has her days and nights confused... so she sleeps all day, then doesn't want to sleep at night... mom finally got her to go to sleep last night and she slept about 6 hours (waking up every couple to eat and get her diaper changed...) so hopefully she's getting it figured out...
She's still sleeping in bed with us for now cause she won't sleep by herself yet... my arms and neck are starting to ache from holding her in bed and from trying to sit up in bed with her...
Thanksgiving was good... lots of food :-) We ate about 8 last night though cause we were waiting for my dad to arrive. He landed in Denver yesterday around 2 and then drove out to Craig...
Well, since Savannah is sleeping right now, I have to get some things taken care of...
SLEEP!! If she's asleep, go SLEEP! She will even out. Abby slept for a long time with her face up against me in our bed. I miss those days. She still sleeps in our bed, though, every chance she gets.
I remember I held Johnny in my arms to sleep at the hospital... the nurses caught me doing that and said NO!!! From then on, I made him sleepin a bassinet or crib... it's so hard to do... you just want to cuddle with that baby... but it was the best sleep I ever had when he moved to the crib! I hope you get it figured out soon. She's a cutie!
SLEEP!! If she's asleep, go SLEEP! She will even out. Naomi slept for a long time with her face up against me in our bed. I miss those days. She still sleeps in our bed, though, every chance she gets.

Sleep when your baby sleeps. Its the best advice a new mom can get. You ahve to take advantage of that with your first baby. When you have baby number 2, you don't get to do that anymore.
SLEEP!! If she's asleep, go SLEEP! She will even out. Cadence, Micah, Hannah & Ethan slept for a long time with their faces up against me in our bed. I miss those days. Ethan still sleeps in our bed, though, every night.
;-) I'm a friend of allofthem ~ I saw your mom's comment on Betty's blog about all the comments they made here, and I came to see what they said. ;-) I really can ditto it all, and it's great advice! Congrats on your beautiful baby girl! I'm also a Pleo-friend of your sis. :-)
Well, we got home yesterday afternoon. We had a busy first night with Savannah. The cradle we got rocks back and forth, but when we lay her in it, she rolls to one side and then ends up against the edge with her face in the bumper pad, so we let her sleep in bed with us last night, but she still was only comfortable sleeping on mommy's tummy or cradled in mine or larrys arms... plus she had two dirty diapers last night that were super full and she did NOT want me changing her... so she'd squeal...
Larry had to go back to work today too... and he was very tired this morning...
Anyway, thank you for all the prayers on our behalf... 20 hour labor but now she's here!
She does look a lot like you did - she's beautiful. This is the hard part - these next few weeks and months, but you will all settle in to a routine and you WILL get some sleep.
Congratulations! What's her middle name?? So, Courtney's oldest daughter's name is Savannah... and when I look at pleo blogs, I open a bunch of tabs from my main page, then tab through... When I was reading your blog about Savannah in the crib, I thought, "But, Savannah is almost five. Why?" OH! What a sweet name. :)
So happy that Savannah is here safe and sound. Welcome to parenthood. I know you will be great parents and now the visits begin! Make sure you make it to Dallas. You are always welcome to stay with us. I am going to be a grandmother again. Audrey is due in June. She has morning sickness pretty bad and she has gone off her meds. so pray for her as she struggles.
Hi Leslie. You don't know me, but I know your mom. I had the same thing happen with my son (rolling in the cradle. I tucked his blanket into both sides of the mattress in my cradle so that he stayed put. That worked okay...but since he knew mom was close by he wanted to sleep with us anyway. Just thought I would share what worked for us on the rolling issue. Take care and congratulations on your new daughter.
So, we're heading to the hospital in about an hour. I'm checking in around 9 and they're going to give me something to start induction about 3 am... so hopefully by this time tomorrow, I will have a baby. Please continue to pray for us. Our whole family is on edge until this baby is safe and sound. And I'm so nervous/excited that I can't really sit still for long... I've been running around all night...
Baby is running out of time to come on it's own! We walked 3 miles on Monday and 2 miles yesterday... we'll see how far we can go today...
I'm ready... I've been sleeping pretty well the past few nights...hopefully preparing for the lack of sleep ahead...
I think we'll either induce tomorrow or wait until Saturday... so baby has it's chance to come on it's own! The head is very far down, and I'm dilated to a 1, but no contractions that hurt yet... I may be having some, but not that I can feel or strong or steady enough to merit a call to the doc yet...
FYI, I think we have decided to induce Friday if nothing has happened by then. Larry is very nervous about the idea of inducing, but the latest my doc will let me go is Monday and by then Larry will be back to work...
Still waiting... it's nice to not have to work though :-)
And Larry is off this week...
We have a chiropractor appt at 11:45, then an OB appt at 12:30 in which we will do an ultrasound and then discuss the idea of induction...
Larry really doesn't want to induce but he's only off this week and I'd really rather him be there with me... my family is all on edge until this baby is born... I guess we'll see what the doctor says today and go from there...
Please pray for my family and me over the next few days. Thanks.
