just some random thoughts... 01-06-09 11:04pm CST
1. The English Language:
Why is the plural of goose=geese, but moose doesn't=meese? Why is the plural of fox=foxes, but the plural of ox doesn't=oxes? Brothers/brethren, mothers/motheren?? The word close and the word close... teach/taught, preach/praught??..

2. Batman is better:
Batman= a strong guy that has a utility belt, really awesome vehicles, a cool costume, his own butler, sidekick, really scary villains, and his alter ego is a millionaire who gets all the girls.
Superman= An alien who wears tights, main arch enemy is a rich dude with NO powers, and his alter ego is a nerd working as a newspaper boy who NEVER gets the girl.
Spiderman= a freak of nature. A nerdy photographer. And never really gets the girl.

3. If I could have ay super power I would fly:
saves money on gas, you can go anywhere in the world (My personal favorite) and you'll never have to pay expensive airfare, it'd open up a bajillion job opportunities (i.e. stunt man, window washer, and anything that involves dangerous heights), and everyone will think you're pretty stinkin cool. What power would you have?

4. If you could live in any cartoon or movie for a day which would it be?
Allice in Wonderland= That world was SO cool, Alice just didn't know how to handle it. Instead of fighting the silliness, she should have embraced it. There was SO much she could have done, but instead she waisted her time chasing after what was actually one of the more sensible characters there! Um boring.

5. What would you do for a klondike bar?
Hmm eat a hotdog. I hate hotdogs with a passion, but I could probably wash it down with the klondike bar after. :)

What about you? Any answers/random thoughts of your own?
cascadingharmonyHehe, I love you.
bparker1000Hmm, the english language is screwy, Batman is better, and I would want to be able to teleport
theshortyi wonder if there are giraffes living in the wildlife refuge. and batman is better and we already discussed the english language.

Hoping for the tomorrows, that are better than today. 10-26-08 10:10pm CST
I haven't been feeling well. Apperently there's some weird virus going around and my sister had it.. now I have it.. my dad is starting to get it.. haha so prayers that my mom and brother dont catch it would be nice! :)

This month and last month have been wonderful. I've learned much, taught some, and I've enjoyed every moment of the good, and even in some ways, the bad. I want to thank my friends... my family... for being there with me when I had a melt down. You guys lifted me up and strengthened me so much that I felt ready to stand up and fight this struggle with every inch of my heart- and now, I'm winning. My fellow brothers and sisters are right behind me, even as far physically as they might be, they have been ever so close to my heart. And their love for me has reasurred me of the promises He has made. "The Lord is with you while you are with Him" (2 chron. 15:2)

So thank you. Thank you so much.

To Ms Traci: You have always been everyone's 2nd mom and I gotta say you're a good one. You are so wise and I feel like I learn so much from you every time we talk. I wish we could talk more often and perhaps very soon we can. Thank you for listening to me the other weekend. Thank you for holding me while I cried and for helping me to remember many of the things that I already knew, but I had just lost somehow. Thank you.

chelsea: We hadn't really had any deep conversations before or even really knew each other well which is a shame because you are such a wonderful person and I can't believe it's just recently that I found it out. Thank you for letting me come over at the last minute (in the middle of the night oh and for stuffing food down my throat LOL), for listening to me, and especially for understanding- for being so empathetic. Some of the littlest things in this world can mean so much, and though it may not have seemed like a lot to you, you really did help me out greatly. (p.s. I loved your scripture sticky note wall and I'm doing it too! It's a GREAT way to memorize scripture!)

Gary: you're a great friend and though in the past I rly felt sad that I never had any opportunities to rly get to know you, you have always been there in some way. You and chelsea make a good team. :) Thanks for helping me out.

Michael: You ALWAYS listened to me. For the past few years you have been a great friend and my call buddy. Though I haven't had alot of time to chat with you as I used to I thank you because I know you'd be there in a heartbeat to listen and to give advice. thanks for being such a supportive and caring friend.

Carol: You and your family came into my life with a bang. I actually don't remember how, it just kind of happened and thank the Lord it did. You have definatly been one of my best friends and I love that I can talk to you at 2 am (lol) about ANYTHING. You have amazing sweet daughters (not to mention beautiful and talented) and I'm so glad i've gotten to know them. I hope that I can get to know them better and that we can grow together as sisters and friends. Oh and your husband is quiet.. but he is definately very sweet guy and very meek. I'm sure without him you guys wouldn't be able to visit so much and I'd never have gotten the chance to know you all better. I hope for many years we will still be calling each other, loading up on the 4-1-1, and sharing all our ideas and hopes.

Amanda Frank: You are definately one of the best friends I have ever had. Truly your wisdom is above and beyond and your passion to grow spiritually is SO uplifting and encouraging. You are a wonderful example to so many around you old and young and you have definately been an example to me. I fully believe some of my growth spiritually has been from your wonderful influence. I only hope that I can be as good of a friend and I may too return some encouragement and support. Thanks for simply being my friend, for simply being Amanda Frank. :)

To those that i've met this month, or have gotten to know better: I can tell you it was a great blessing that you came into my life. YES, I am talking to you if I met you this past month or if I've gotten to know you better recently. Each of you have left some small footprint on my heart. Whether it was by some encouraging action, spiritual example, or even just by your kindness to me, I have have treasured that moment with you. If we are still friends years down the road or if we should never meet again, I thank you because every new Christian face is a reminder that we are not alone in this dark world. No matter where we go, we will still have each other and there will be a hand out there somewhere ready and willing to help you up. Thank you for becoming my friend. Thank you for loving me even without knowing me.

AND to those who I haven't seen recently or have lost contact with: I can guarantee you are still on my mind. I forget MANY things, but I will never forget you. My family at Benchley, my friends from camp, and all those other faces that have moved or married, my memories of you stay with me always. I am who I am today because of my past.. because of what I have learned in my past. And that includes the influence from all those brothers and sisters who I was close to or have gotten to know. You have each taught me something whether you realized it or not and it will go with me to the end of my days. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me so and for teaching me along the way.

1 Thess. 5:21 says "hold fast to what is good." though it may not seem like it, I have held on to each one of you some way or another and because of it I'm a stronger person today. Thank you all for doing what is right. Thank you all for standing by God always. Thank you for not being perfect... but for trying.

I love you my friends, my family.

caroldLushi...I love you. This post made me cry...tears of joy for you, because I can tell you are feeling better. We need to talk soon.
texanmandyOh Lushi! I love you!! What a heartfelt post! I really miss being around you more often here in CS. I'm so glad that I have been able to help you along life's path, because you have surely encouraged me to become a better person! And I'm not just saying that either! I love all your posts on here, because they are always about spiritual matters, and pushing people to do better. And not only that, but you are always spiritually minded and wanting to do better in this life. I can't wait to see you this weekend!!! :D
whatsyourconfessionWow! Thank you for blessing all of us with such a beautiful, heartfelt, encouraging post. God does let us get down so that when others encourage us when we feel alone, we in turn know what that encouragement can bring and we do it to others. If we never felt alone we could not sympathize with those who do. Bless you in your walk with others as we walk in Christ! I love you.
philipmageehope you are feeling better, and glad you're still alive. ;P

Wisdom and an extra tid bit: 10-23-08 10:51pm CST
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind." -James 1:5-6

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." -Hebrews 4:12

"Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." -Eph. 5:15-16.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a thought: In the religious world, many are taught about accepting Jesus.
But in some ways, is it not about Jesus accepting you???
"Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light. (for the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),
FINDING OUT WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE LORD. Eph. 5:6-10
-A point made by Phillip Strong at a recent gospel meeting.
muldoon202great verses and good point! thanks for sharing
maryswansonGreat post! Thank you and your church for having us! The meeting was so great! It was also lovely to see our little Lushi again! :)
philipmageethis an awesesome thing to think about really.
whatsyourconfession(Gal 4:9) but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be KNOWN BY GOD, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again? You are right! We need to be accepted by Jesus! Good points Lushi.:)
