So I went to Argill's Guitar Store today to get my string fixed and it turned out, as I had expected after seven years, that all the strings were dead. No wonder it wouldn't tune right before. So anyway I got them all replaced for like half the original price, and I never knew a guitar could sound so beautiful. I'm actually glad I broke that high e string in the first place lol :)
So Christmas was fun. Got some western boots, a capo (finally!!!! lol), Taylor Swift's Fearless cd, vellum bristol paper, new colored pencils, graphite pencils, and a necklace. The whole family got Wall-E and Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian, which was awesome. We watched the parade and then went to Opryland Hotel to walk around. Even though I skipped my nap, it was a pretty nice Christmas lol :)
This is an oil painting I did as a Christmas present for my mom, who loves the original painting but was never able to buy her own print. Hope you like it :)
First off, the electric pencil sharpener was replaced today. The new one's smaller and louder, but it does an awesome job, so woo hoo.
Second, some of you guys might know that I've been annoyed because I still haven't gotten my actual driver's license yet. But just yesterday I found out that if I wait just six months (my eighteenth birthday), I can skip two Tennessee licenses and go straight from my learner's permit to my regular, restriction-less driver's license. That sounds pretty good to me, so I'm going to do it.
Man, it's weird saying I'm going to be eighteen in six months. Whatever happened to the old days? I remember when I first came to Broadmoor. I was only twelve then, and Tabs and the rest of the now-nineteen-year-olds were fourteen. Things have changed so much since then, for better and sometimes for worse. But no matter what, I'm enjoying every second of getting older.
Life's a lot like a puzzle, isn't it? So hard to figure out, but rewarding when you finally get a piece in. And the big picture is amazing. Just something to think about :)
I am glad you recognize the benefit of waiting until 18. They did not, but had to do it anyway. I spent enough time in the drivers' testing stations that, to save those two steps, was pretty nice. Not the only reason, but it's a big one.
