We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
~2 Cor 4:8-10
i haven't updated much so i guess i will tell you a little bit about life in florida.
it's fantastic :]
haha no seriously...ummm... i'm finally getting time organized. it takes so long to learn time management here. there is so much going on. i think i'm getting it though. i got my schedule for next semester. 12 hours baby! it will be a nice break after the 18 hours i took this semester. i'm officially a sophomore by credits as of next semester so that's cool i guess. i'm hoping to get an on-campus job next semester and i'm also going to be involved with the musical next semester so having free time will be a blessing.
i'm basically doing music all the time now. i can analyze music and notate a five seven of a B-flat major scale... scary stuff. my range is expanding too. my voice lessons teacher is determined to turn me into a soprano ASAP haha i'm really enjoying learning so much and getting better. it is difficult here because everyone is very good so it can be discouraging a lot but i'm improving so i can't ask for more than that.
i switched societies to Psi Beta Gamma in the end of September and i love it. society jerseys are starting to come in. hopefully beta's get in soon. we've been through kickball and softball season and are now into football crazyness. it's quite a lot of fun.
the fall ball is now dead. instead we are having "A very merry Unbanquet" and it's a week from Saturday. it should be fun. next week is dress up week with guy be nice to girl day and vice versa. i'm excited about that.
the campus took the Obama win pretty hard. i think a lot of people are really worried but after the original shock and disappointment, everyone started saying things like "the Lord still reigns" and it was encouraging. it was a good atmosphere to be in at the time. a lot the students voted in the election. in florida, there was a proposed amendment to the FL constitution that marriage be defined as one man and one woman. it needed a super-majority of 60% to pass...it passed with 62%. that's really encouraging and God be praised for that. so some good did come of the election after all :]
Falcon Days was this weekend. Kayla and I kept a Falcon Baby from Texas, Maegan Bradford, in case you know her. She was really cool and it was neat getting to know her and other future Falcons. it makes me that much more excited about Camp Friends. speaking of, i did interview to be a Camp Friend. it is an extremely competitive thing so there are no guarantees that i will get to be one, especially since i'm a freshman and they like to pick sophomores. however, i did think the interview went pretty well so i hope that i make it. they will give us a list of who gets invited to Camp Friends Boot Camp on Nov 25 and then if I survived Boot Camp, i would get to be a Camp Friend. i'll keep you updated as i know more.
our chorus concert is monday. that should be fun.
there's probably a million other things you could know but i'm tired and this post is getting long so i'm gonna sign off. i pray everything is going well for you too!

1. I am with you here. There are a couple of great Seinfeld bits about the exclamation mark. Only on the rarest of occasions (usually, "Congrats!" or "Happy birthday!" ) will I use them. I only do so as not to sound insincere. I would prefer never to use them at all.
