After one year of marriage, we take time out to observe this momentous occasion.
And to consecrate this milestone, we are journeying to the mountains of Colorado... to a cabin, quaintly nestled in between the prodigious, green trees and gently flowing stream trickling from behind. Here, the elk stroll around the cabin, with the sound of the fresh fallen snow resonating from under their hoves. They peruse the grounds looking for the green foliage that has been covered by the white blankets of the cold, moist flakes.
Whilst inside the cozy retreat, the fireplace crackles and sparks, carrying the warmth of its embers across the room. It shall be delightful sitting back in a comfortable chair, staring into each other's eyes and drinking a warm sip of whipped cream topped cocoa.
P.S. Then again, they have free DVD rentals all night and a delicious free breakfast (so I've been told) the next morning.
We were both dressed well and matched this past Sunday before church, so we figured we'd share our twin image... I would just need a tie and shorter hair. ;)
Ben and my first anniversary is coming up soon. I can't believe it's almost been a year! That went quick. I love being married! Ben's a wonderful husband. I could not have dreamed of someone better. Aaah, still "in love." ;)
Now the question comes...
With our first anniversary coming up, what is an appropriate first anniversary gift? Ben and I aren't really gift people. It ranks 1 out of 5 on our lists (the lowest possible). So should we still get each other something, which is traditional to do, or do something completely different and if so... what?? Suggestions?
I think he should get you something nice that you can hand down to your child on their first anniversary. J got me a pair of diamond earrings, so I better have a girl!
Wonderful - thanks for sharing. Saw your dad's retirement photos - how did I guess that the guy in the blue shirt talking to a be-suspendered man in the first few photos would be my dad?
haha...I love his facial expressions. Speaking of Carolyn, I tried calling her the other day and I left a voicemail, but I haven't heard back yet. So we'll see. I'll let ya know!
