How exciting! 01-07-09 01:54pm EST

5 days until the new season of American Idol starts!

Can't wait to see what talent this season brings!

Anyone else excited?

71lespaulcustom

I like watching people who think they have talent (because family and friends either did not know better or else just praised them in spite of their lack of talent) get their eyes opened before the judges. When it gets down to the end, I enjoy the actual talent performing. Hopefully the artist catalogs they choose for this year will be something other than last year's Geritol parade.

hellosunshine

I am! Bring on the songs! And the day after AI starts...we find out about baybay Loo!

justg

I enjoy American Idol! Didn't realize it started in 5 days! Oy!

loislane

For me it starts much later. I can't watch the beginning part. Too long and sometimes it hurts my heart to watch those that really think they can make it get crushed in front of national television. (I know some do it knowing full-well what's in store, but others, say the tone deaf...)

loislane

I'm more excited about finding out who he or she is!

loonea

I understand I sometimes feel really bad for them but if I don't start watching it now I will miss all of it!

loonea

and I am about to have an anxiety attack I am so excited, somedays I think boy somedays I think girl... I never thought Brett and I would be doing this almost 6 months ago!

heartbeat strong!

Like music to my ears

Brought tears to my eyes

January 14th is the day, Boy or Girl? What do you think?

stampergirl

Boy, don't ask me why. So glad he has a strong heartbeat!

loislane

And all the stress of the season just melts away. Your own Christmas carol. Nothing sweeter.

justg

boy. all the way.

justg

one icicle. one ornament. one star. a baby one.

hellosunshine

Great sound. I also loved the sckwish, sckwish sounds. Good stuff. I still say GIRL.

soberjoenpaca

She's a girl.......girl.....all girl :) xoxoxoxo

cecile

I'm gonna go with boy just because it has one less letter to type and I really have no clue about which your baby will be.

flgatorgirl

Awww so sweet! Boy!

auntjennywren

I'm waiting for the sono! :)

cecile

Merry Christmas!

julieboo

I have always said boy, but for some reason there's this little voice in my head saying, "No...girl."

Is it just me or..... 12-17-08 09:53am EST

am I the only person who thinks that Christmas kinda came out of no where this year? Here is the list of things I have yet to do this year.

1) Put up a tree 2) put decorations on said tree 3) put up ANY decorations 4) send out Christmas cards 5) go shopping 6) wrap presents that I haven't shopped for

is anyone else feeling the stress this season or is it just me?

franksinatra

I'm feeling stressed but for different reasons! :p Probably because that sweet boy/girl is starting to suck your brain power...

justg

Thanks for your note...believe me, if I don't get the tree up the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving, it weighs on me. It gets bigger than it should! You have a lot on your mind!!! Go to Target, buy a tiny tree already decorated (you can use it next year in the baby's room), you and Brett agree to just give each other love, love, love...tell everyone else it's the economy. Then...enjoy the reasons that we all like to celebrate; friends and family.

franksinatra

Yeah lady that sounds awesome!! Sounds like you and Brett are giving each other the same thing Alan and I are giving each other. January 14th will be an awesome day for y'all--and we who are excited for you!

justpeachy

There is no rule that says you have to give a gift. Most of your family and friends would rather see you . Make time for the two of you to cocoon.

rachel

I totally feel the same way. No tree up. Apartment not clean. Half of presents not bought. No money to go buy them. Don't feel good. Company coming two days after Christmas... and everybody is wanting me to do _____ (lots of blanks to fill in) before Christmas... poo

justpeachy

Umm, last year Margie threw out almost all my Christmas cards. I hadn't mailed them in years. You'll mail them out next year with pictures of the youngun. Find a wreath, hang it on the door. Go find Diana's small tree and stick it on the table. Decorating: done. Light a candle if you want to go for broke.

cindykay

Hey your list is exactly like mine! My house is barren of any Christmas decor, I've sent out no Christmas cards, I haven't finished shopping nor wrapped a single present. Ho ho ho!!!

stampergirl

Well, I'm with you...not much Christmas spirit, but I have made most of my cards...just 9 more to go. 3 decorations up. Tree and other things not even down from the attic. I did go to our work party yesterday and Cecy's ornament exchange helped some too. I do have most of my shopping finished, which I didn't realize. (I always have to get Rebecca's birthday shopping finished by Christmas too every year since her birthday is the day after.) It seems that everyone I talk to is having a hardd time getting into the spirit this year...just kind of going through the motions. But, maybe parents of little children still have the excitement.

stampergirl

Last night I went through all of the gifts I have purchased and realized I had spent my limit on nearly everybody, so that is good. Just the nephews and niece to buy for now and their parents are usually good about suggestions. I'm not very good at shopping for boys. Girls are so much easier to shop for.

PAY ATTENTION!!!! 11-24-08 10:37am EST

This message was very loud and clear to me last night as we were driving home. Have you ever got the feeling that "someone" upstairs wanted to know if you were paying attention to the sermon or lesson?

So last night the service was on being thankful, right?

So as we were driving home last night about 8ish we were discussing what wonderful dinner company we had just a few short minutes ago. When all of a sudden we see to doe's just standing by the road grazing on the dead grass. Now normally I would tell Brett to honk the horn or he would have on his own however last night was different.

I couldn't tell him to honk the horn, nor could I move to do it for him. He didn't have enough time to react, except to slow down and try to move over into the other lane, alas it was not enough! WE HIT BAMBI'S MOTHER!!!!!!! Now having been scared nearly to death we pull over to look at what damage may have been done. I get out first because it is on my side of the truck and I don't see anything... no scratches, no dents, no busted out lights, nothing physically wrong! Talk about being thankful. We pulled back onto the road to see about the doe and as much as I hate to say it, she did not make it. Brett asked me what I thought we should do with her and I told him just to pull her off the road, so he did and we went home.

I wonder if that "someone" upstairs was checking on me to make sure that I am really thankful for what I say I am.

I was so thankful for the fact that 1) I wasn't driving 2) we were not in my car 3) there was no physical damage to the truck.

So upon getting home and calming down we realized 2 things were wrong 1) the front end of the truck is now out of alignment and 2) the blinker bulb is blown 2 minor easy things to take care of! THANK YOU JESUS FOR WATCHING OVER US LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!

(this post is not for sympathy just something to make you say hmmmmmm)

loislane

ANGELA!!!! I'm so thankful that you and Brett made it through unscathed! God was truly watching over two of his children last night! And, for the animal's sake, it sounds like the doe did not have to suffer long or at all. We love you all!

loislane

And on a lighter note..."I'd like a 'rolled up!"

justpeachy

Stop & Think moments are a blessing all of their own.

auntjennywren

Yikes! Thankful y'all are ok!

justg

Your experience scares me to death. Mark hit a deer in front of Devil's Millhopper in our truck. The damage was about $8,000.00. He was totallly traumatized. I wouldn't have been able to get past it. I'm sure eventually I would have, but it would have taken some time. I'm so thankful that the two of you are safe. The deer come out so quickly on Millhopper...it pays to be watchful! xoxox

stampergirl

So glad you are okay! Rachel's car was totaled that way 4 years ago.

christilmt

Glad you are safe. Almost every day there are deer near our home. I drive so slow down the stretch leading to the house. And with the kids in the car, it would probably be faster to walk than ride in the van.

christilmt

Also glad you enjoyed his hot chocolate. One of the many many reasons I love George. I'll get the exact order and share it, it's such good stuff.

auntjennywren

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear ANGELA!!!!! Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a beautiful day!!!!!!!!!!!!

loislane

Happy Birthday Angela!!!!!!!!!!1

soberjoenpaca

HBTY, HBTY, HBDA, HBTY!!! Time for us to go out again.........on this side of town so you can come over here!!!

justg

WooHoo! Happy Birthday! Wishes for many more.

cindykay

Happy Birthday Angela!!!! I just realized you're not on my friend's list! Argh! I must do something about that!
