Yesterday it was 80 degrees, but this morning we had our first snow! Here are some pictures of the house and neighborhood. Joel called from the hospital to let me know that we were in a 'blizzard.' But the reality is that this is just a light dusting according to our Colorado friends.
The roads were a bit scary this morning, but I am proud to say that I made it to services without incident. Several people have helped me put together a winter car kit...just in case! It's amazing how we have to adjust to the many cultural changes that come with living in the mountains. But no matter the weather, we absolutely love our new home and city. A few more weeks and we will be on the slopes!!
Greenway Park across the street from us has been turned into a Winter Wonderland!
And finally, I have to include my sweet snow cats. After much persuading, I was able to get Simon and Reina into the snow. Although, they were not very cooperative when it came to posing for a group shot!
How cool (literally)! Your house is adorable! Glad you're enjoying it and adjusting so well- I think the driving in the winter would be the hardest adjustment for me. I mean, we close school down here if it's 32 degrees!
Aahh! When did you get on here? I've missed you very much. You live in such a pretty place. I'm glad to hear you enjoy it there. Seminole isn't exactly Denver, but we like it here, too. It snowed several times last winter, but of course we didn't ski, because I couldn't push Jimmy. There are no slopes to speak of. We are awaiting word from Josh and Lisa about daughter #2, who is due to be born Wednesday if she isn't here before then. Are you still teaching at the museum?
So good to see you smiling and happy. I wrote you 2 or 3 days ago, but probably forgot to click comment. Anyway, your home looks warm and cozy. Wish I could see you two. I remember our sewing sessions with pleasure. We are ok, like living in Alvin. But miss our C'ville friends. Tell Joel Hi. Love, Frances
hey lindsay!! linda says you love your new job and i'm so happy to hear they're treating you like the valuable employee you are! i hope it's lots of fun.
Joel and I had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Glenwood Springs and Aspen. We are officially in fall here. The weather is brisk and the leaves are beautiful. We drove through the mountains to see the color changes. We also completed a 16 mile bike ride through Glenwood Canyon and then hiked to Hanging Lake.
This is the drive through Maroon Bells in Aspen. The camera doesn't quite capture the beauty of it all.
We hiked 2.4 miles round trip to get to Hanging Lake.
This is Hanging Lake. It's a natural lake created by the waterfalls when there was a shift in the mountain.
Aww, it's my favorite Lindsay! I started crying when I saw ya'lls pick. You look so happy! And that's a lot of adventures!! Miss you and love you! Tell Joel Howdy! for me!
