Wow, it's been a long time since I've made a post. I really don't have much to say. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday and are enjoying the beauty of God's creation!
Hi all! I thought I would update. My apartment still has no power or water but I did get an text yesterday saying the office was up and running and everyone was expected to be in.
So this morning I made my way back to Htown. Traffic really wasn't bad until 610. You can see the destruction the hurricane caused from the road, and its extremely impressive. I am so fortunate that my only inconvenience is the lack of power and water. It could have been so much worse.
So, here I am at the office. We have no phones, internet, and our computer systems seem to be down but we have a pretty good group that showed up. Several of our employees suffered extreme damage to their homes, and in a few cases the damage is so bad that they will need to rip the houses down and start over.
Remember to keep those who have lost so much in your prayers. This is going to take more time than the news is letting on to fix, and there are going to be so many who will need prayers.
Thanks guys! I'll be heading back to college station in a bit, after work and a stop by the apartment to Make sure everything is ok and do some cleaning to my fridge. Icky.
For anyone who might actually read this, I'm in b/cs still and am not sure when I might be able to go back home. The apartment complex has yet to get any electricity, and as far as work is concerned there's standing water in the building, the air conditioners are gone (that's right, not just broken but actually GONE) and there isn't any electricity. So for now I'm in limbo waiting. Hopefully the electricity will be turned on soon at least at the apartment complex.
So, I'm planning on being in town this coming weekend to spend some much needed time with my Momma. I figured since I'll be in Bryan I can bring DVD's of the '08 Survivor Benchley games for whoever wants one. I have a small list started so far.
