Well, after 1 year, I finally went on the hot air balloon ride that my brother gave me for my 50th birthday. It was awesome...to be up there floating around, was something truly amazing. A great gift from a great brother.
Well, here it is again...my birthday. The higher the number goes, the more depressing it is. "I surely can't be THAT old." I am thankful to be alive and not have any horrible disease that others are plaqued with. I am thankful for family, even if I don't get the pleasure of seeing all of them often. I am thankful for friends, who are always there for me in good times and bad. I am most thankful for God, who has made all this and more possible. God is good.
Well, May is almost over. Our trip to Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC and New York City, was wonderful. We truly crammed alot into 8 days. And when I got home, I did laundry for 8 days!! Not really :) I didn't have my hot air balloon ride. The man who is going to take me for my ride, keeps cancelling due to bad weather. I will do it, just obviously whenever HE decides. Now it is on to working on VBS stuff, another wedding, and of course-- more quilting.
My bro lives in Sulligent over near Columbus, MS. I used to get to see him when I went to Columbus with Southern Directory. It was about a 3 hour drive from Huntsville. This is the first time I've ever taken a road trip sans family since motherhood. Don't know how soon I'll take another.
They bring a busy May around here. There is a quilt lecture and class May 2 and 3 that Jessica and I will attend. And for my 50th birthday, my brother gave me a free hot air balloon ride, so that is May 2nd at 6. May 6th its off the UAB to see an endocrinologist to get something done about this low blood pressure of mine...I mean, how low can you go ...then there are 2 college graduations--Richard Nash and Carla Nash... Then off to Maryland May 14 - 21 to see Amy and Jim. We will also get to visit Amish cuntry in Pennsylvania. Then off to DC to see the memorials and of course end the visit with a trip to NY!! And of course while we are there we will celebrate Jim's birthday...he is soooo old :).....then on the 29th, I will attend a wedding that I have made bridesmaid dresses and other stuff for. Then Jan's birthday to top off the busy month. So when do I have time to quilt??? I will find time....
*** update**** hot air balloon cancelled due to high winds ...maybe at the end of the month :(
you always find time to quilt! i hope you enjoy all the fun things listed up there... I hope the UAB trip brings helpful news. My family and I went to Amish country a few years ago. I'll try to rack my brain to give you some suggestions of where to eat/shop/visit!
