My dad, John Daines, was admitted to the hospital. Pneumonia. His Crohn's Disease is also active again--very bad.
I was in the emergency room with him from 10 am till 7pm. He was still in the emergency room when I left. They were trying to find a bed for him. They were extremely busy. My brother and sister-in-law came, so I decided to head home. Our weather was nasty today, and it was already dark, so I had a terrible time seeing. Also ran in and out of fog all the way.
Also, my first eye surgery is in the morning. I would really appreciate your prayers, first for my dad, but also for me and the surgeon who will be doing my surgery.
we just got home from the annual party we have with the brethren. So much fun. I do think we are in store for some changes in 2009. Good ones. We'll keep you updated as they occur. As every year fades into a new one, I am humbled at the blessings God has bestowed...
I was going to post a "pictorial" of our Thanksgiving, but my pictures have disappeared. Maybe later. I finally figured out how to post pictures, so it is fun.
I had another eye doctor appointment this morning. I have been going once a week for the last few weeks. I am going to have to have some surgery on both eyes, so they have been doing a lot of testing--getting me ready for it. My vision has decreased quite a bit in the last 2 years. Hopefully, after the surgeries, I will be able to see again! I gave up driving after dark a long time ago, and it is a struggle to drive during daylight now.
I would ask that you say a prayer for the doctor who will be doing the surgery. He is supposed to be one of the best in our area, but a little "guidance" would really be appreciated.
As the year is coming to an end, I have been thinking of everything that has happened. It has really been an eventful year in our life.
So, my question of the day is: what would you consider to be the most eventful thing that happened in your life this past year (or one of the most eventful things), if you are of a mind to share?
One most eventful thing -- the birth of grandbaby #3 in November. Our "pilgrimage" to Minnesota and the North Shore of Lake Superior in September ranks right up there, too.
mmm.. nothin like Patty Brewer's cooking. My mom even admitted the other day that she thought she couldn't make apple dumplings as good as you. lol. And that's saying something because there's nothing like Dotty Hinkle's cooking either. ;)
David is a great example of a good husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend . He always seems to have time to help others with their problems. He keeps so busy that I sometimes tell him I need a date with him just so we can talk!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAVID, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! (just play the tune in your head)
I love you, David!
He isn’t on pleonast, so just leave a message here and I will give it to him.
