1. I hate my job but am thankful for it.

Hi everyone!
Well, We are almost one week into the "Empty Nest Syndrome" and it really hasn't been all bad. EJ has been staying with us but she flies home today. I think we will be fine though. Of course we miss Stacy very much but I am so happy for the opportunity she has to be in a more positive work environment. She deserves a good place to work. The congregation in Cumming has welcomed Stacy with open arms. She will be an asset to them.
I can't believe in one week little Drake will be 3 months old!! He is such a precious baby and such a blessing for Chris and me. I could just kiss on him all day!!! :)
It has been a LONG week and I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

We miss y'all too. Lisa and the kids are flying up at the end of the month and will be there for a week. Wish I could come too but can't take off right now.

You betcha she's sassy! Was she sassy in a bad way? We are constantly getting on to her with her tone of voice and bossing people around. I'm afraid she's going to get lots of beatings because of that!
Happy 1 Month Birthday to Drake!!! I just love him more and more each time I see him. He is a good baby and growing so fast. If I knew how to add a picture of Drake I would so you could see the most beautiful grandbaby ever!! I need to learn how to do that so I can be a cool granny.
Not sure when we'll be coming back. We're wanting to take a vacation to west Texas and part of New Mexico this summer. This will be our only chance for quite some time since next summer we'll be looking for a place to move (hopefully Alabama, Georgia, or Tennessee). We're never going to live closer to this part of the country, so that also has factored into our decision on the vacation. All that being said, we're hoping they'll still let me off for Christmas for a few days to go back to B'ham.
Well, I have experienced some wonderful moments in my life but holding my new grandson is right up there at the top of the list. It was my privilege to take a couple of days off of work and help Charlie with the baby. He seems to already have a schedule --- 1:45 am feeding---5:45 am feeding. After he was nursed at the 5:45 feeding I would let Charlie lie back down while I got the baby back to sleep. But he would lie in my arms awake for 30-45 minutes justing listening to my voice and trying to focus on my face. WOW!!! I quoted some of God's Word to him and sang "Jesus Loves Me" (he seemed to prefer the scripture quotes--wonder why?!! :D) My prayer is that he will love God and His Word and trust in the Lord with all his heart. Having a grandchild is everything everyone said it would be and more. He was definitely worth the wait!!
Do you remember what it was like when your girls would reach to touch your face? When Slaten reaches those little precious fingers to touch my face that feeling seems to be ten times stronger! There are days when I just cannot get enough of him. I'm so glad you can finally share those feelings with me!
Well, of course Drake is going to love you! He won't be able to help himself! You're going to be a wonderful grandmother to that little cutie patootie! Matthew is feeling better today. Still sore, but able to eat a little more regularly. He goes back to the doctor on Thursday so hopefully everything will be good.
Well, I will soon be a grandmother but I am becoming very impatient! I have been thinking his arrival would be soon for a couple of weeks now. But nothing......
I told his mother to stop feeding him so much and maybe he would come out looking for food. Hee Hee! No really, I am very excited and can't imagine what it will be like to see my "baby" have a baby!! :D
