The good news - we received an offer on the house today!
The bad news - it was pretty low and they were asking for quite a bit.
We responded to a couple of their concessions that we'd give up (which included them asking for the storage shed in the back, but that already stays anyway - sure, we'll give that up). But, we left the price where we want it. We'll see how serious they are if they have a response. Thanks for all the prayers.
That's the update there.
On an unrelated note, we had an interesting discussion in bible class this morning about I Cor. 7:39 where the scriptures state that a person who's spouse has died is free to marry again, but "only in the Lord". I've always thought, as I often hear it explained, that the phrase refers to marrying someone who is a Christian. However, it was brought up by some others, including the teacher, that they understand that to mean that they can only marry someone who is also free to marry (such as another widow(er), single person or divorced for scriptural reasons). I can certainly understand that view and I'm not sure where I stand on that one.
Any thoughts? |

I've been pretty lazy about Pleo lately - maybe I just have other things going on! :) I've not posted and I really haven't been on to others blogs.
Not too much news here, though - spent the 4th in KY with Beth's family. We had a nice time and were able to see them and them. Otherwise, same old thing - busy with work, waiting for the house to sell and spending time with the kids.
Beth and I had a chance to get out by ourselves while my mom and dad watched the kids. We went to the Cheesecake Factory to use the gift cards I've had since January! (We don't get out alone near enough.)
I discovered a Yellow Jacket nest in the yard this weekend and sprayed it down with a pesticide tonight. Hopefully that'll take care of them.
Have a great week!

Okay, now that I've got your attention! :)
Actually, Beth and the kids are in KY this week with her family. We drove up to Beckley, WV yesterday and met her father, he took them on to Lexington while I returned home. I'll go up next weekend and then bring them all back.
So, here I am, living the "bachelor" life for a few days - though, the "bachelor" life when you're married is so different than when you're a true bachelor plus, with the house on the market, I still have to keep it clean!
Today, one of my buddies from church was in the same boat, his wife and kids were out of town for the weekend, so after services we got together for lunch, hung out at his place for awhile, went to the park to throw the football around a bit, etc. It was nice to have someone to hang out with. It's quiet around the house, too quiet.
That's about it around here. Hope everyone has a great week! |

Last night, Beth and I took a look at another home that just went on the market this week. We've decided it's our favorite, has 4 bedrooms, plenty of space, spacious, level, fenced-in backyard! And, it's not far away from where we are now, so the location is great and the price is just about right!
Then, today, we received a call that we had a 2nd showing on the house! Someone had viewed it earlier this week and decided to come back, apparently with her daughter, to look again...then we got the feedback this afternoon.
"This house is no longer a contender."
It's kind of depressing, but I guess I need to remain patient.
I'm the type that once I decide to do something, I want to do it then, so the waiting is hard. But, I have to remind myself that we don't HAVE to move, we'd just like to upgrade and have more space so if it takes awhile, that's okay.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

I went here on Friday. It was part of an office outing.
It was fun, but I didn't win.
I also ate here for the first time. Also during our office outing.
It was good.
We had one more showing this week - they wanted 2 full baths, of course, so do we! :) Oh well. |
